Context and Background

The NSPCC’s purpose is to prevent cruelty to children across the UK and Channel Islands. The Policy and Social Change (PSC) and Strategy and Transformation (S&T) Directorates exist to help shape the world around us – and what the NSPCC does – so it reflects our evidence and learning about what works to ensure babies, children and young people are safe from abuse. 

The Directorates are responsible for:

-influencing public policies, laws and social change through research, policy and campaigning; and 

-leading the development of our organisational strategy, developing innovative services and managing our knowledge and information. 

Job purpose

The Executive Assistant provides proactive, high‑quality administrative and organisational support to the Directors of Policy and Social Change and Strategy and Transformation.. The role exists to:

·Provide effective support to Directors, ensuring the Directorates work at their best.

·Deliver high-quality customer care to both internal and external stakeholders.

·Develop, manage, and review administrative and information systems to keep processes smooth and reliable.

·Work with colleagues to solve challenges and improve systems and processes. 

By enabling effective leadership and upholding NSPCC values and safeguarding standards, the postholder plays a key role in supporting the Directorates’ work to keep children safe from abuse and neglect.

Key relationships - Internal

•Reports to the Director of Policy and Social Change as well as the Director of Strategy and Transformation, works closely with their respective Senior Management Team and attends SMT meetings.

•Builds and maintains working relationships with the other Executive Assistants, administrative and support staff, and all Directorates staff to enable the provision of high-quality administrative support and information.

Key relationships - External

•Maintains and builds relationship with NSPCC stakeholders, such as professional partners of the directorates, suppliers and other service providers.

Main duties and responsibilities

•To provide administrative support to the Director of Policy and Social Change and the Director of Strategy and Transformation, including but not limited to, diary management, travel bookings, meetings support and forward planning.

•To assist with the Directors’ cost centres and financial responsibilities (including raising purchase orders, handling supplier processes and contract set up), and holder of the Directorates’ purchasing card.

•To ensure information and material about the Directorates on internal communication channels are clear and up to date (including on Directorate Teams’ channels, on The Green and the Volunteer Hub).

•To be a source of expertise and support to the Directors on recruitment and onboarding of new colleagues.

•To organise regular Senior Management Teams and Directorate-wide meetings for each Director as required – including being responsible for agendas, notes and action logs. 

•To be an accessible and approachable member of the two Directorates, proactively sharing information when necessary and developing an excellent knowledge of NSPCC processes and procedures. 

•To coordinate and support projects relevant to the Directorates’ work, including projects on child sexual abuse, child safety online, strategy reviews and NSPCC Learning Services.

•To co-organise and facilitate internal lunch and learn sessions for colleagues across the Directorates.

•To act as a trusted member of the Executive Assistants forum.

About the role

We’re looking for a highly strategic Director of Policy with deep experience of influencing policy and political decision-making to lead WWF-UK’s policy development and influence at a critical moment for climate and nature.

This is a senior leadership role at the heart of WWF-UK’s strategy and impact. Working across advocacy, conservation, science, in the UK and internationally, you will shape and drive a small number of high-impact policy priorities capable of unlocking meaningful change across systems including food, finance, trade and land use.

You will lead a high-performing Policy team, strengthening WWF-UK’s ability to respond quickly and credibly to political opportunities with deliverable solutions. This is a role for someone who combines deep policy expertise with sharp political judgement, trusted relationship-building and the ability to influence both behind the scenes and at the highest levels externally.

Working with the advocacy Directorate, you will build and maintain trusted senior relationships across Whitehall, including with departments such as the Cabinet Office, Treasury and FCDO, helping shape thinking early and informally while also influencing policy development and implementation with colleagues and partners internationally.

Alongside leading and developing a collaborative and confident team, you will contribute as a senior organisational leader, helping shape direction, organisational outcomes and strategic decision-making across WWF-UK.

Job Purpose

Grandmentors Wolverhampton is a well-established and successful project that has been connecting mature volunteers with care experienced young people since 2019. As Project Coordinator, you will lead the core programme while heading up our brand new ‘Through the Gates’ pilot, which provides vital support for young people transitioning from custody back into the community. Your role is to foster high impact mentoring relationships while ensuring clear professional boundaries are maintained, complementing the work of our statutory partners in the Local Authority.

Key Responsibilities:

· Project Coordination: Lead the day-to-day delivery of Grandmentors in Wolverhampton, ensuring the project meets match targets for both the core service and the new pilot.

· Volunteer Leadership: Recruit, train, and supervise a dedicated team of mentors, ensuring they feel supported and understand how their role fits alongside other professional services.

· Boundary Management: Act as the key link to statutory leads, such as Social Workers or Personal Advisors, ensuring support remains mentor-led and escalating any professional concerns appropriately.

· Partnership Working: Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with the Local Authority and other relevant partners.

· Safety & Compliance: Oversee risk assessments and strictly follow safeguarding procedures to ensure the safety of our volunteers and the young people we support.

About the role

This role is based in the Victim Help Centre, in St Asaph, North Wales and working in liaison with North Wales Police and other relevant agencies. As a Triage & Early Intervention Officer you will:

• contact Victims by telephone to undertake a comprehensive needs assessment and commission a range of services to support identified needs as appropriate.
• refer victims to partner agencies and contact approved suppliers to deliver services to victims.
• make direct referrals to appropriate colleagues and allocate Victim Support workers for further support.
• identify and manage the victims immediate service needs and contribute towards risk assessment processes whilst following agreed safe contact processes and securely recording contacts.
• build trust and confidence with victims who will be vulnerable and have complex needs.

Level 4 Welsh Language skills and the ability to communicate fluently through the medium of Welsh is desirable for this role.

We are seeking a Nature Reserves Manager to oversee the day-to-day responsibility for SWT’s nature reserves and to work with the Head of Conservation and Policy to ensure that the sites play an enhanced role in achieving our strategic goals in conservation, people engagement and natural capital.

This is a key role in ensuring SWT’s nature reserves are maintained in good ecological and hydrological condition, are accessible, welcoming and well known to the widest possible audience, and that demonstration sites are managed on a commercially viable basis to deliver ecosystem services, including biodiversity net gain (BNG).

What you will be doing:

You will oversee annual budgeting, financial monitoring, grant funding applications, environmental land management (ELM) payments and biodiversity net gain (BNG) delivery, ensuring projects are managed on a commercially viable basis and achieve full cost recovery where appropriate.

You will also be responsible for maintaining site infrastructure, ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, overseeing grazing management, and managing reserve documentation, leases and legal records. Working closely with internal teams, you will help improve accessibility and visitor engagement across SWT sites, strengthen integration with wider SWT programmes, and maximise the contribution of volunteers.

We are looking for someone who has:

•  Strong leadership and organisational skills
• Significant experience in land management within conservation or a related field
• Strong project management experience
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
