We're looking for a motivated, people-focused Employment Specialist to join our IPS team and help transform the lives of people with mental health needs. You'll manage a caseload of up to twenty clients, supporting them to find, secure and sustain meaningful employment in line with the eight IPS principles.

You'll work closely with clinical teams, attend multi-disciplinary meetings, and build strong relationships with employers to create real job opportunities. From CV support and interview coaching to in-work retention, you'll provide tailored, person-centred guidance every step of the way.

You will bring proven experience of managing a caseload of up to 20 clients, applying the 8 principles of IPS to support individuals to secure and sustain employment through both job search activity and proactive employer engagement. You will work collaboratively with clinical teams, external agencies and employers, contributing to a multi-disciplinary approach that integrates employment and mental health support. You will have strong job-sourcing skills, building and maintaining relationships with local employers and wider Pan-London networks to create sustainable opportunities for clients. Highly organised and administratively strong, you will confidently manage documentation, track KPIs and meet performance targets in line with NHS and Hestia protocols. You will take a client-centred approach, providing ongoing support to both clients and employers, including during job starts and long-term sustainment, while offering clear guidance on the impact of work on benefits. You will be self-motivated, adaptable and committed to professional development, able to manage your time effectively across community and clinical settings, maintain professional boundaries, and engage fully in ongoing IPS training and support.

You will also leave your impact on major policy campaigns, including high-profile initiatives such as Dying in Poverty and Fix End of Life Care.

You will be responsible for: 

• Delivering PR and media strategies for specific portfolios, leading priority workstreams, and ensuring effective tactics to meet campaign and organisational goals.
• Leading PR strategy development, execution, and evaluation to increase brand recognition and media reach; managing campaign objectives and sharing insights for continuous improvement.
• Identifying, training, and briefing spokespeople including senior staff.
• Managing reactive news and news desk functions to stay ahead of media agendas.
• Maintaining strong media relationships, ensuring consistent key message delivery, and advising on reputational risks and issues.
• Line management and development for two National Media & PR Officers.

Key Criteria:

• Established experience in a similar PR position, managing a news desk or a press office.  
• Experience working in a large, complex, face paced environment.
• Excellent understanding and experience working with national media (broadcast, print, online, podcasts etc).
• Proven experience landing national news stories, broadcast coverage, features, op-eds and reactive media opportunities.
• Line management or mentoring experience and the ability to lead teams.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with stakeholders of all levels.
• Experience or familiarity with healthcare policy and public affairs and understanding of political landscape will be an asset.
• Ability to work unsociable hours.

Job title: Fundraising Manager

Salary: £35,000 pro rata

Summary

This exciting new role will raise the funds to enable The River Thames Boat Project to expand our cruises and education programme on the River Thames, and cover our annual running costs.

Through your fundraising expertise, you will have a proven track record of raising capital funds, building relationships with individuals, community groups, trusts and foundations and other donors to achieve and exceed annual capital and income targets. You will have the skills to create compelling proposals and appeals that successfully engage and attract donations from new and existing supporters.

Background

Established in 1988, our charity's mission is to make the River Thames accessible to all.

We provide opportunities for individuals to experience river and waterways environments to enhance their personal, social, and educational wellbeing.

Using our fully wheelchair-accessible community boats we deliver educational programmes for children and young people across London and the South East, and therapeutic cruises for people of all ages who have limited access to the Thames due to health issues, disabilities, isolation or social exclusion.

A small staff team of four and more than 100 volunteers support the charity. In 2021, we received The Queens Award for Voluntary Service. The charity, more than thirty five years old, is run by a volunteer Board of Trustees.

We rely on grants, donations and community fundraising to subsidise the cost of our charitable activities on the River Thames.

We are seeking a fundraising professional to grow our charitable income across all streams (grants, foundations, corporate sponsors), raise significant capital funds, reinvigorate our members program, diversify our fundraising income and establish a volunteer fundraising committee.

As Fundraising Manager you will also be responsible for marketing the charity to prospective clients through mailings, social media and other routes.

What you'll be doing

1. Develop and execute a fundraising strategy that aligns with the charity's business plan and future ambitions
2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing funders
3. Research potential trust and foundation funders, write compelling bids and ensure effective reporting and stewardship
4. Revitalise the charity's members' program (Friends of RTBP)
5. Create and lead a volunteer fundraising committee to support our initiatives.
6. Ensure effective records are kept and a database developed for fundraising and the members' program
7. Ensure all fundraising is compliant with GDPR and other legal and best practice standards
8. Develop and implement marketing plans for the charity's cruises and education work
9. Attend the Trustee finance and fundraising committee and produce reports on activities and income as required

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience in raising capital and income for small to medium size charities from multiple sources
2. Self-motivated and proactive with great interpersonal skills to work with staff members, volunteers, trustees, and external funders from individual to corporate donors
3. Proven ability to research funders, write compelling bids and manage relationships with funders

Leadership and management

The Role

This is far more than a technical finance role. As a key member of the SMT, the Director of Finance will hold collective responsibility for the overall leadership, culture, performance, and strategic direction of the organisation, working collaboratively with fellow senior leaders to ensure our values shape decision-making at every level.

Alongside strategic financial leadership, the role includes senior oversight of Facilities and IT, recognising the vital role these services play in the provision of safe and effective services.  The role also operates as Company Secretary and takes responsibility for information governance.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Director of Finance will work closely with Trustees, senior colleagues, and external partners to ensure the hospice remains financially sustainable, well-governed, and resilient. 

About You

You will be a senior finance leader who combines professional expertise with strong interpersonal skills and a clear commitment to values-based leadership. You will bring:

• A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, or equivalent).
• Significant senior-level financial leadership experience, ideally within a charity, healthcare, public sector, or complex not-for-profit environment.
• Experience of working closely with Boards or Trustees and contributing at a strategic level.
• The ability to lead collaboratively beyond finance, with credibility and interest in areas such as Facilities and IT.

We're looking for a motivated, people-focused Employment Specialist to join our IPS team and help transform the lives of people with mental health needs. You'll manage a caseload of up to twenty clients, supporting them to find, secure and sustain meaningful employment in line with the eight IPS principles.

You'll work closely with clinical teams, attend multi-disciplinary meetings, and build strong relationships with employers to create real job opportunities. From CV support and interview coaching to in-work retention, you'll provide tailored, person-centred guidance every step of the way.

You will bring proven experience of managing a caseload of up to 20 clients, applying the 8 principles of IPS to support individuals to secure and sustain employment through both job search activity and proactive employer engagement. You will work collaboratively with clinical teams, external agencies and employers, contributing to a multi-disciplinary approach that integrates employment and mental health support. You will have strong job-sourcing skills, building and maintaining relationships with local employers and wider Pan-London networks to create sustainable opportunities for clients. Highly organised and administratively strong, you will confidently manage documentation, track KPIs and meet performance targets in line with NHS and Hestia protocols. You will take a client-centred approach, providing ongoing support to both clients and employers, including during job starts and long-term sustainment, while offering clear guidance on the impact of work on benefits. You will be self-motivated, adaptable and committed to professional development, able to manage your time effectively across community and clinical settings, maintain professional boundaries, and engage fully in ongoing IPS training and support.

As the Project Officer, you will work directly with schools and local communities across the North and Midlands, identifying ways to transform streets and public spaces into safer, more welcoming environments for active travel.

• Plan and deliver behaviour change projects and activities that promote walking, wheeling, and cycling within schools and local communities.
• Build strong, effective relationships with local leaders, authorities, and other key stakeholders.

We are in an exciting period of growth and transformation and are looking to appoint an Internal Communications and PR Executive on a full-time permanent basis.  As a key member of Woodgreen’s Marketing and Brand team our successful applicant will be responsible for delivering effective and engaging internal communications that inform and connect colleagues and volunteers with Woodgreen’s strategy, values and priorities. This role will also support external PR and media activity, working closely with our PR, Communications and Media Manager to manage press enquiries, coordinate media opportunities and showcase Woodgreen’s impact. 

An organised, proactive, self-starter you will have experience in creating captivating and effective content, as well as working with stakeholders at all levels to collate content that ensures consistency, clarity, tone of voice and brand alignment across every touchpoint.  You will provide expert advice and counsel on internal communications, including confidential and business-sensitive plans, and in addition will;

• Collaborate with stakeholders across the charity to create and deliver inspiring, informative and engaging internal communications plans for key projects and campaigns, including Woodgreen’s Channel 4 show ‘The Dog House’.
• Plot and execute an internal communications calendar, ensuring activity is aligned with other communications and the wider organisational strategy.
• Produce, edit and schedule engaging content and materials across a range of internal channels including email, the intranet, Town Halls and Humand.
• Establish effective measurement and evaluation of internal communications, including both qualitative and quantitative elements.
