The Senior Supporter Engagement Manager will lead the strategic development of personalised, data‑driven supporter experiences that deepen engagement and maximise long‑term value. This role oversees the design and optimisation of multi‑channel supporter journeys, with a key focus on the creation and delivery of the email, SMS and What’s App communications, as well as our loyalty‑focused communications such as Cure Magazine, supporter newsletters and seasonal loyalty comm such as Christmas Cards. You’ll be a resident expert in marketing personalisation and data automation through martech tools.
Acting as the organisation’s expert in supporter experience design, the postholder ensures that every interaction — from the point that a supporter hits our database to long‑term stewardship — is timely, relevant, and insight‑led. You will use a mix of influence, coaching and collaboration skills to work across the organisation – working closely with Fundraising, Digital, Data, Business Intelligence, Insight, Policy and Campaigning, Volunteering, Info Services and Brand teams to embed a culture of continuous improvement and supporter‑centric thinking.
Most importantly you’ll be passionate about giving supporters a fantastic experience so that they stay longer, do more and feel like a valued part of getting to a cure for dementia.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporter Journey Development & Design
· Lead the end‑to‑end design of supporter journeys working collaboratively across all the organisation, taking an audience led approach in achieving our income, engagement and influence objectives, joining the dots and identifying opportunities for cross sell, upsell and integration of offers throughout a supporter's relationship with us.
· Oversea the mapping and optimisation of lifecycle journeys, ensuring they are insight‑driven, segmented, and aligned with organisational goals towards a cure.
Responsible for ensuring your teams are expert in our martech, and use testing frameworks (A/B, multivariate), data and performance insights to optimise journeys performance.
· Lead for automation of journeys within our martech, balancing efficiencies on resource with excellent supporter experiences.
· Lead for data, compliance and technical troubleshooting.
Data Selections & Audience Targeting
· Responsible for making audience targeting decisions ensuring accurate, timely, and insight‑led targeting for all fundraising and engagement activity.
· Working collaboratively with the BI team to ensure the development and application of data modelling and propensity models to predict supporter behaviour models that support tailored communications and efficient campaign delivery.
· Work closely with Data and Analytics teams to maintain data quality and optimise selection processes, and work with insight and BI to translate performance outputs into actionable recommendations for optimising our supporter journey performance.
· Ensure robust documentation, governance, and continuous improvement of data targeting and selection workflows
· Work collaboratively with the digital analytics team to ensure a strong connection between web and paid digital activity to avoid siloes across the stages of a supporter's experience with ARUK.
Supporter Loyalty & Stewardship Communications
· Lead the creation of loyalty‑focused communications that build long‑term relationships and increase lifetime value and deliver on our supporter experience principles – including communications such as Cure Magazine and E-newsletter.
· Work collaborative with Senior Supporter Relations Manager to develop stewardship frameworks that recognise and thank supporters at key moments – including the coordination of an ARUK approach supporter Christmas and Seasonal greetings.
· Ensure collaboration within these organisational supporter loyalty communications is effective leading for RACI and levels of approval.
· Lead for your team adhering to GDPR-aligned audience management and safe data activation.
Leadership & Collaboration
· Manage and develop a multi‑disciplinary team across your key responsibilities, fostering a culture of audience led, testing, continuous improvement and joined up thinking, planning and delivery.
· Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across fundraising, digital, brand, data, insight, info services, policy and campaigning, and research teams to ensure alignment and shared priorities.
· Responsible for keeping up to date on latest thinking, tools and technology for delivering effective Supporter Experiences, working closely with our Salesforce Technical Product Owner. And represent the charity in conferences, networking and influencing within the sector.
Knowledge, skills and experience needed:
· Extensive experience in supporter or customer journey design, CRM‑driven marketing personalisation and data automation
· Strong understanding of email marketing and supporter journey platforms and infrastructure, automation tools, and CRM systems.
· Familiarity of audience targeting segmentation and data selections.
· Familiarity with propensity modelling, predictive analytics, or working alongside data science teams.
· Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex, cross‑functional projects.

The 999 Club has stood on the corner of Deptford Broadway for more than 30 years, working with and supporting the local community. Our focus now is on people who are street homeless, rough sleeping or unhoused and those who have no recourse to public funds.
The Gateway is open five days a week and provides a welcoming, safe and friendly space where our members can spend time away from their usual situation and sort out practicalities like getting laundry done, taking a shower, charging their phone and having something to eat.

Exactly as it says on the tin, the Essential Services Team was set up to deliver essential services and we’re really excited to be restructuring the team. Whilst our Intervention Team works with members to figure out their next steps around housing etc. the Essential Services Team work to make sure that everything is in place we all get to spend time in clean, safe, friendly surroundings.
Working alongside an amazing team of volunteers the Essential Services Team provide it all, hospitality to housekeeping and everything in between. From welcoming members at reception to helping out with laundry, to making sure the place is clean and comfortable and well maintained, that we have enough of everything, that all the admin is taken care of and and that there’s something nutritious for lunch, the Essential Services Team are at the centre of everything we do – effectively, they are the engine that keeps the 999 Club running.

The Role
Reporting to the Retail Development Manager, the Retail Development Officer will support with the continued growth and development of our retail network.
The role holder will actively support the Retail Development Manager to build, deliver, and implement a pipeline of new sites development in retail, including shops, cafes and superstores, Yorkshire Cancer Research Centres, and other retail related projects.
You will have responsibility of supporting the Retail Development Manager with market analysis and feasibility studies of potential new sites, contributing to the development of business cases, projects plans and delivery of these plans as well as contributing to compliance and ongoing maintenance and required improvements within the retail real estate. There will also be an opportunity for the role holder to inform future decision making through the delivery of business insight, KPI data and other metric reports relating to income.
Specifically, you will:
Ensure Retail Development effectively manages risk through clear prioritisation and consistent role modelling of best practices:
· Work collaboratively with the Retail Area Manager, with regards to monitoring compliance with retail policies and procedures, as well as Health & Safety standards.
· Act as a visible leader in relation to all health and safety responsibilities, taking reasonable care for your own safety and the safety of others. Adhere to all Health & Safety requirements, processes and procedures.
· Support and role model a strong safety-first approach in all retail development activities and projects.
· Work closely with the Facilities Manager to ensure new shops are in good condition and compliance documents are in place before being handed over to operate under business-as-usual activities.
Drive strong team performance across retail by consistently delivering high-quality work, demonstrating reliability, and actively collaborating across teams and external partners:
· Support, where possible, the recruitment process for new shop managers and volunteers and ensure this is complete in time for each new shop opening.
· Maintain and monitor detailed project plans for refurbishments, openings and improvement projects, ensuring suppliers, tradespeople and internal stakeholders are engaged and informed of key dates.
· Deputise for the Retail Development Manager, support and maintain relationships with property agents, shopfitters, tradespeople and third parties, in their absence.
· Assist as a contact for discussions with relevant internal and external stakeholders regarding new locations.
Support the positive representation of the Yorkshire Cancer Research brand by modelling key behaviours and helping deliver welcoming, innovative spaces that position the organisation as a brand leader:
· Undertake regular shop visits/shop floor inspections as directed by the Retail Development Manager; directing and supporting the team to deliver creative and inspiring layouts, space planning and use of point of sale to ensure that each shop maximises its sales potential.
· Empower teams through training and demonstrating the high standards expected of visual presentation of the shops in representing the brand image of Yorkshire Cancer Research.
· Be a trusted point of reference who understands expected standards, can clearly communicate them, and champions their importance in representing Yorkshire Cancer Research.
Support the delivery of commercially viable shops and related spaces by working within budget constraints and aligning with approved business cases and project plans:
· Support the Retail Development Manager in exploring and identifying the best locations for new shop openings, including market analysis, feasibility study, site visits, and site presentation.
· Assist in developing business cases for each new shop, ensuring they are financially viable and key decisions are documented.
· Support the development of project plans for shop openings, closures, and refits by ensuring suppliers, tradespeople and internal stakeholders are engaged and informed of key dates.
· Continuously improve systems and processes that support effective project delivery, ensuring accurate documentation, reporting and compliance.
· Work alongside the Retail Development Manager to identify new suppliers, ensuring they are suitable, competent, and aligned to our values.
· Support the Retail Development Manager in developing and testing new income streams, processes, and systems before moving to business-as-usual activities.
· Support the Retail Development Manager, Retail Area Managers, Head of Retail Property & Estates, and team in regularly reviewing our current retail estate, identifying maintenance and other improvements required.
Other duties:
· Support the development and execution of the ten-year Retail business strategy.

· Provide regular KPI and metric reports on income to inform future decision-making and planning.

About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:
· To ideally be educated to A Level or equivalent, or able to demonstrate experience in a similar role at a similar level.

· To have excellent business acumen and an in-depth understanding of market trends
· To have experience of working cross-functionally, both within an organisation and externally.

The Senior Email Channel Officer is a critical role in planning, creating, delivering and optimising our email campaigns and automated supporter journeys. The role ensures supporters receive timely, relevant and engaging communications that strengthen their relationship with the charity and drive meaningful action. The post holder will have experience in achieving KPI’s such as improved campaign engagement metrics; improved automated journeys to increase retention, reactivation and income; delivering email accuracy and quality; and contributing to the overall Supporter Experience Strategy to build lifetime value through more supporters, staying longer and doing more.

Key Responsibilities:
Campaign and Automation Journey Planning & Delivery
· Hands on delivery, including build and test high‑quality email campaigns that support fundraising, supporter engagement and other organisational priorities such as volunteering and campaigning actions.
· Build, test and optimise automated email journeys that welcome, retain, steward and reactivate supporters, building performance knowledge and insight that can be replicated across different supporter products and journeys.
· Support the Email Channel Manager with overseeing the email marketing calendar and sign offs where needed.
· Work with data and CRM teams to improve trigger logic, personalisation and segmentation, using your audience understanding to incorporate targeting and personalisation using customer data and dynamic content logic.
· Advise on the integration of email within multi-channel campaigns (e.g. email, SMS, Whatsapp, direct mail, social and telephone)
Reporting, Performance & Insight
· Monitor performance and continuously refine journeys to improve conversion, engagement and lifetime value.
· Work with Business Intelligence, Insight and Digital Analytics teams to produce regular reports on email performance, offering clear insights and recommendations.
· Use A/B testing, segmentation and behavioural insights to drive continuous improvement.
· Ensure activity aligns with KPIs around engagement, retention, income and supporter satisfaction.
Data, Compliance & Quality Assurance
· Ensure all email activity is fully compliant with GDPR, PECR, consent and internal data governance.
· Working closely with the website team, carry out thorough QA across content, links, rendering and segmentation before deployment.
· Champion accessibility, inclusive language and best‑practice UX within email design.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
· Work closely with internal teams needing email support, advising on strategy, best practice and channel suitability.
· Work closely with digital, brand, design, marketing, data and analytics and supporter engagement teams to improve the supporter experience.
· Work closely with other internal teams needing email support, advising on strategy, best practice and channel suitability.
· Liaise with platform and technology partners to troubleshoot issues and support continuous improvement.
Platform & Technical Ownership
· Strong use of ESP platforms such as Dotdigital, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or equivalent to build and optimise emails and journeys.
· Support the development of templates, modules, reusable assets and stronger processes.
· Contribute to platform migrations or upgrades, ensuring smooth transitions and improved capability.
· Identify and implement workflow improvements between the Supporter Experience and Data teams to increase effectiveness and reduce lead times for campaign deployment.
Training & Upskilling
· Champion email channel best practise to uphold high quality assurance and executional standards.
· Support the Email Channel Manager with upskilling and mentoring junior team members in email and channel best practice, automations, segmentation, project planning and supporter journeys.
· Create and maintain documentation of learnings, processes, ways of working and results where required.
Knowledge, skills and experience needed:
· Significant experience delivering email campaigns and automated journeys in a fundraising, marketing or digital environment.
· Hands‑on experience with email marketing platforms and CRM systems.
· Proven track record of improving performance through testing and optimisation.

You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation to oversee our active campaigns and identify opportunities to mobilise our supporters and drive influence and impact for and with people affected by dementia.
You will lead the development of the campaigns function for ARUK, building on existing initiatives, championing best practice in campaigns and building our reach and engagement. You will also be responsible for working across a range of functions including our policy, research, communications, digital, brand and volunteering teams.
This is a 12 month FTC or on return of the substantive postholder
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver our live campaigns and marshal our campaigner base to advocate for change in dementia research and for people affected by dementia
· Work with colleagues across research, policy and public affairs teams to develop and deliver our campaigns that mobilise people affected by dementia and our supporters to influence decision makers and change policy and practice
· Work with the policy managers to ensure that our campaigns align with our strategic priorities and theories of change
· Work closely with public affairs colleagues to plan campaign actions that align with key political influencing moments e.g. Budget; Spending Review; King’s speech; General Elections
Develop and deliver our campaign communications to grow the reach, influence and impact of our campaigns
· Lead the development and growth of our campaigner network, building supporter journeys, and producing compelling and creative campaigner communications across email, social media and other channels
· Work with colleagues across CRM and digital to improve data management, delivering regular reporting on campaign actions and use this data to enhance the campaigner experience and empower more people to take action.
· Work with colleagues across the organisation to build campaigning expertise and experience with local ARUK supporters and improve our reach with MPs in their constituencies
Line Manage our Policy Campaigns Officer
· Oversee the work of the policy campaigns officer including setting objectives and providing support to a range of workstreams.
· Consider the learning and development needs of the policy campaigns officer and ensure that they are able to grow and develop in their role.
Involve people affected by dementia in campaigns development and delivery
· Identify campaign champions and storytellers with lived experience who can advocate for change
· Provide training and ongoing support to people with lived experience to empower them to take part in and shape our campaigns
Research, insight and continuous improvement
· Provide expert advice across the charity on campaigning, taking an open, flexible and innovative approach
· Develop mechanisms to keep abreast of best practice in campaigns and any legal or regulatory issues specifically around mental capacity and consent, data protection and lobbying etc
· Continue a campaigning culture across the organisation by being an ambassador for the benefits of campaigning and working with colleagues to showcase the opportunities and impact of our work.
Knowledge, skills and experience needed:
· Educated to A Level or equivalent
· Experience of delivering successful national campaigns
· Experience of building fruitful relationships with colleagues across organisations
· Experience of developing impactful campaign strategies with clear policy rationale and creative tactics
· Experience of writing compelling campaign communications
· Experience of working with campaigners
· Experience using CRM databases such as Raiser’s Edge and Salesforce and handling sensitive personal data
· Line Management experience
· Leadership experience at a management level
· Experience of matrix working, across professional and operational boundaries

Ways of working:
As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.
Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals. This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.
Our Office: Our office is at 3 Riverside, Granta Park, Great Abington, Cambridge, CB21 6AD.
Salary: Circa £44,000 per annum, plus benefits.
