The Senior Media and PR Officer will undertake communication projects to support all areas of the charity to raise awareness and understanding of Independent Age, to secure policy change to tackle poverty in later life, and to drive potential supporters to our activities.
Our Helpline and expert advisers offer free, practical support to older people without enough money to live on. Through our grants programme, we support hundreds of local organisations working with older people across the UK.
We use the knowledge and insight gained from our support services and partnerships to highlight the issues experienced by older people in poverty and campaign for change.

Responsibilities and Person Specification:
This role supports the charity’s media and PR programme, helping to secure positive coverage and strengthen its reputation through proactive and reactive communications. It will contribute to the organisation’s ambition by increasing awareness, influence, and engagement with key audiences across traditional and digital media channels.
Working within the media communications team, the post-holder will lead on media planning and PR projects, identifying opportunities for both short-term campaigns (such as report launches) and longer-term storytelling by spotting future hooks and moments to promote key messages and calls to action. The role will also support wider team strategy development and contribute to a busy and responsive press office.
You should have experience in media relations and press office activity, including drafting high-quality media materials such as press releases, statements, op-eds and thought leadership content. You will also need strong judgement to respond to enquiries, manage reputational issues in real time, build relationships with journalists and outlets across the UK nations, and monitor, evaluate and report on media coverage.

About The Role

Purpose of the Role
The Director of Income role is responsible for leading our income generation. However, the role is not solely governance and leadership - we need a do-er who is comfortable working in a small team and sharing responsibilities, including submitting fundraising proposals and taking responsibility for our reporting. They will work closely with the CEO, Director of Programmes, Head of Outreach and Communications and Fundraising Coordinator to ensure we are communicating our value proposition coherently and effectively to the important stakeholders that make our work possible.
We do not see this as a traditional fundraising director role - we are looking for a skilled generalist who can meet us where we are at by working confidently across Trusts and Foundations, statutory grants, corporate partnerships and traded services simultaneously. We are a small charity with 10 staff, so while we are looking for a decision-making and accountable leader, the postholder will be expected to support colleagues across the organisation. They will have a collaborateive spirit and the emotional intelligence to thrive in a small team.
The postholder will lead the Outreach team (CEO, Head of Outreach, and Fundraising and Communications Coordinator), ensuring we work efficiently and together. Main Purpose Of The Job:
The Events and Community Fundraiserwill take responsibility for the planning and delivery of Homeless Oxfordshire’s events and third party events, and provide exceptional care to our community fundraisers. Events Planning And Delivery
· Oversee planning and delivery of our community and corporate events including the Golf Day, Race Across Oxfordshire, the Business Breakfast, HOxStock, and the Thank You event.
· Liaise with venues, suppliers and contractors to ensure all events are well planned and professionally run.
· Manage all event communications, from invitations, registration, to event day and follow up, ensuring an excellent support journey throughout.
· Support the Community Fundraising Manger on third party events, including Homeless Oxfordshire’s participation in the Oxford Half Marathon, the London Marathon, London to Brighton bike ride and other challenge events.
· Manage and plan event day activity at third party challenge events.

Community Fundraising

· Oversee the administration linked to community fundraisers, including updating the database with communications and monitoring and managing fundraising materials.
· Support community fundraisers to use and register on third party platforms e.g. JustGiving, Enthuse, providing encouragement and tips for securing sponsorship and funding.
· Ensure timely and professional communication and interaction with community supporters, and prompt thanking of fundraisers and donors.
· Take responsibility for responding to/redirecting all emails to the shared fundraising inbox.
· Undertake other relevant duties, supporting the Fundraising and Communications team as required.

About The Role
We’re seeking a dynamic individual to support Medair UK’s engagement with trusts and foundations in the United Kingdom. Over the last 5 years income from trusts and foundations has gone from strength to strength increasing by 230% and the successful candidate will be part of the small team responsible for increasing this key area of funding. You will be an integral part of this growing Christian charity. You will enable support for the life-saving work Medair delivers to some of the world’s most vulnerable people by driving forward our relationships with UK trusts and foundations.
About You
You will be a positive and solution focused fundraiser, ready to take initiative and embrace challenging targets. Ideally you will have experience in growing income from trust and foundations from both longstanding and new potential partners, or be able to demonstrate highly relevant transferable experience. You will be capable of compiling strong fundraising proposals; produce high quality reports; partner with financial colleagues in preparing complex budgets and financial reports. A compelling written communicator, you will have a keen understanding of the humanitarian sector, and of what motivates trusts and foundations to support this work.
Key Activity Areas
Lead Generation
Be responsible for account management of caseload of mid-range Trusts & Foundations.
Work collaboratively with the Engagement Manager, Engagement Support Officer and volunteers in the identification, approach and management of UK Trusts and Foundations.
Regularly research and review opportunities for building potential relationships with prospective Trusts and Foundations and progressing relationships and applications with them through compelling communications.
Work with existing networks and contacts to identify and approach potential trusts and foundations and develop relationships with key decision makers there
Identify and pursue opportunities to increase income from existing Trust and Foundation relationships
Communications and Management
Work towards an agreed target each year of engaged trusts and related income, both restricted project and unrestricted funds.
Write compelling cases for support and proposals in order to secure grants
Effectively work with internal contacts throughout the global Medair organisation in the preparation of approved proposals, reports and supporting financial and impact information
Manage Medair’s engagement plan, initiating and delivering creative touchpoints throughout the year for all of Medair’s trust and foundation partners, as well as building relationships with trustees and representatives through video, online meetings, events and face-2-face opportunities
Planning, monitoring and pipeline management
Maintain a good record of the application pipeline and CRM (salesforce), monitoring application output, income targets, fund allocations and reporting deadlines.
Ensuring all grants from trusts and foundations are correctly allocated to Medair programmes, with the appropriate grant card on Medair’s project management platform and maintaining good contact with country programmes and finance partners throughout the lifecycle of Medair UK co-funded projects.
Internal Liaison
Liaise with Medair’s Heads of Country Programmes, Country Directors and Communications Officers in order to gather information and data for the purposes of applying and reporting to funders
Work collaboratively with finance colleagues in the preparation and approval of budgets and reports.
Foster dynamic and mutually beneficial relationships with other fundraisers within Medair international and the affiliate offices, readily sharing proposals, reports and information.

The Communications Department inspires, informs and engages the public by showcasing Alzheimer’s Research UK’s mission, impact and scientific progress across all channels. As part of this, the Content Team plays a vital role in creating clear, engaging and accessible materials that help audiences understand the importance of dementia research, the breakthroughs being made, and the change we are striving to achieve.
The Content Officer supports this work by producing accurate and engaging content that strengthens our story telling and supports our priorities. It contributes to the success of major campaigns. The role helps create a range of written, visual and multimedia materials that explain complex topics — including research, policy, partnerships and fundraising activity — in a compelling and accessible way.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across Policy, Corporate Partnerships, Brand, Strategic Marketing, Social Media, Digital and in the Communications team, the Content Officer ensures that content is aligned, consistent and impactful. The postholder also contributes to the smooth delivery of content production and publication processes, helping to maintain high standards and a coherent organisational narrative.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivery and production
· Develop high‑quality content across formats (e.g., explainers, briefings, blogs, supporter materials, video and digital assets) to support research, impact, policy and partnership storytelling.
· Produce accurate, engaging content for corporate and philanthropic partnerships, including supporter‑facing materials and impact stories.
· Contribute to major brand and campaign moments (e.g., World Alzheimer’s Month) through ideas, drafting and coordinated delivery.
· Develop multimedia assets — including infographics, short videos and visual explainers — by drafting briefs and supporting supplier liaison.
· Under the direction of the Content Manager, commission and manage external suppliers (e.g., designers, videographers, editors), ensuring briefs are clear and outputs meet ARUK’s brand, accessibility and quality standards.
Research and information support
· Gather and verify information from colleagues, partners and subject‑matter experts to ensure clarity and evidence‑based messaging.
· Translate complex information (e.g., research, policy or partnership updates) into clear, audience‑appropriate drafts and outlines.
· Support development of evergreen content frameworks and thematic content packages for campaigns and partnerships.
· Use audience insight and performance learnings to inform content development.
Cross‑Team collaboration
· Work collaboratively across Communications — including Social Media, Policy, Corporate Partnerships, Brand, Strategic Marketing, Research Communications and Digital — to meet shared content needs.
· Contribute content expertise into cross‑team planning to support integrated communications activity.
Administration, planning and coordination
· Maintain and update content across ARUK platforms (ResourceSpace, News & Views), ensuring information is accurate, current and well‑organised.
· Use SEO principles and performance data to shape content recommendations, working with the Content Manager and Metrics & Insights team to monitor KPIs and identify optimisation opportunities.
· Support improvements to content processes and workflows across the team.
· Assist with project coordination, helping manage timelines, track progress and support delivery within agreed budgets.
Quality, and tone
· Ensure content is accurate, accessible and aligned with ARUK’s brand, tone of voice, editorial and ethical standards.
· Apply good judgement within defined areas of responsibility and ensure strong attention to detail.

Ways of working:
As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Purpose of the Role
The Stakeholder Engagement and Network Co-ordinator will support and strengthen several of ASH’s key professional networks, ensuring they operate effectively and maximise their impact on policy and practice. The post holder will maintain strong engagement with network members, facilitate collaboration across sectors, and ensure insights from networks inform ASH’s policy and communications work.
The role will also lead on the development of a new Lived Experience Network, enabling people with current or past experience of smoking to inform ASH’s policy work.
In addition, the post holder will support organisations to sign up to and engage with the newly launched Pledge for a Smokefree UK, helping to build a broad coalition of support for ending smoking.
Over the coming year it is anticipated that there will be a high volume of government consultations on tobacco as government prepares to implement the powers in the Tobacco and Vapes Act. The input of our professional networks into these consultations will be an additional priority.
