The Role 

This is an exciting opportunity to undertake one of the most crucial roles within the organisation. The Skill Mill Supervisor supports disadvantaged young people 16+ within the Justice System into work: 

• promoting learning and developing skills and pro-social behaviours 

• building relationships and establishing a work ethic  

• developing employability and practical skills  

• supporting the young people to overcome the barriers that can result in them failing to obtain or sustain opportunities that lead to sustainable training and employment. 
   

As the local Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and working alongside a group of young people as they undertake assigned tasks that involve manual work / gaining a trade in addition to liaising with local partners to provide the team with opportunities to develop employment skills. 

The successful candidate will be expected to: 

• propose and develop innovative and effective plans to promote the Skill Mill locally,  

• risk assess and risk manage 

• cost and plan small works,  

• identify and source paid and unpaid work opportunities,  

• uphold health and safety requirements  

• and provide progress reports to customers and the Skill Mill management team. 

To be considered for this position it is essential that you have experience of direct work with young people who are considered to be at risk. This will include those who are at risk of crime, anti-social behaviour, previously been unemployed and may have had adverse childhood experiences.

You will possess previous experience of direct work with young people as well as experience of site / small scale construction / environmental / horticulture works and health and safety at work regulations. 
 

Key Responsibilities

Managing a team of young people and ensuring that you: 

• Establish positive, supportive, and trustworthy relationships with the young people to understand their needs and aspirations.  

• Provide emotional support, act as a listening ear, offer guidance on life skills, and encourage personal, social, and emotional development.  

• Work with young people to identify, set, and achieve personal and social goals, while also recording and tracking their progress.  

• Help young people discover and develop their skills, talents, interests, and aspirations, potentially through new opportunities and experiences.  

• Support young people in exploring positive pathways in education, training, and employment by encouraging positive choices and building resilience.  

• Uphold responsibilities for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the young people you interact with.  

• Liaise with partners such as schools, social workers, and other services to ensure effective holistic support and signpost to specialist interventions.  

• Maintain accurate and professional case notes and records of interactions and outcomes, adhering to organisational policies and data collection requirements.  

• Assist with the day-to-day administration of the program, which may include database management, reporting, and communication.  

Undertaking environmental and construction jobs and tasks and duties as determined by partners and other contractors of The Skill Mill. These could include: 

• Landscaping and fencing works 

• Maintenance of gardens, parks, bridleways, and similar public areas 

• Clearance of debris and blockages that are associated with site management, flood risk and environmental damage 

• ground works potentially associated with flood risk management site maintenance and habitat development 

• Remedial shrubbery and foliage activity and banks work that are associated with flood risk invasive species clearance and habitat development 

• building, repairing and maintenance of culverts, conduits, pipework and other built areas that are associated with flood risk, watercourses and habitats 

• improvement and maintenance of habitats, including planting activity associated with  sustainable wildlife 

• Maintaining the safety of self and others in the workplace completing Risk Assessments and Method Statements where appropriate.

Essential Requirements: 

• experience of working with young people and helping them develop and achieve their potential.

• Knowledge of industry/trade with a strong understanding of Health and Safety. 

• Clean Driving Licence as role is expected to transport young people to and from identified work experience provisions.

We are looking for an experienced charity finance professional who can play this key role in our UK finance team. MRG is a complex organisation with four offices, many projects and funders, and staff around the world.

Working with three UK finance colleagues, and those in our offices in Hungary and Uganda, the Finance Officer will process and record all our financial transactions (expenditure, sales and grant income) and assist in statutory reporting and year end audit preparation.

Here is a more detailed list of the tasks in finance control, reporting, payroll and bank liaison:

• Assist in preparing budgets
• Assist in regular cashflow forecasting and planning.
• Post transactions to Sage / Enterpryze
• Monitor MRG’s suppliers and other creditors and arranging payments
• Process documentation for MRG’s sales, donor and other income, including coding transactions.
• Bank cheques and cash received 
• Raise invoices for MRG sales debtors, and for reimbursement of MRG staff costs by outside agencies
• Raise overseas payments to MRG’s partners and overseas consultants, following the finance procedures
• Order foreign cash and travellers’ cheques from MRG’s bank and forex services for staff cash advances,
• Arrange to get cash advances to staff, and for receipt of refunds of unspent cash advance balances.
• Reconcile major supplier accounts including air travel and travel insurance suppliers
• Reconcile bank statements to cashbooks, Sales and Purchase Ledger control accounts and the suspense account.
• Produce Budget versus Actual reports for the core departments, and identification of major variances, in consultation with budget holders.
• Reconcile payroll control accounts each month
• Process annual cost of living and increment increases to staff salary approved by the Finance and Operations Committee and the Leadership Team, and provide information on increases to staff
• Process payroll documentation for joiners and leavers and manage pension scheme joiners
• Compile and submit quarterly VAT returns and reconcile the VAT control accounts
• Liaise with the bank over relevant issues, including queries on transactions and updates of bank signatories

The person

We are looking for someone with:

• a minimum of four years finance experience, including two years experience of either management accounts report preparation, or preparation of statutory financial or equivalent experience of accounts analysis and reporting
• experience of using accounts software (e.g. SAGE, QuickBooks, Sun, Enterpryze, etc)
• experience of preparing statutory financial accounts
• experience of charity finances involving many projects co-funded by several donors
• experience of preparing annual accounts for audit under SORP accounting standards
• experience of other accounting functions including purchase ledger and sales ledger
• a high level of numeracy and attention to detail
• advanced level of competence in Excel
• the ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and combine responding to urgent requests with longer terms tasks and activities
• the ability to stay calm under pressure and to assess and absorb information quickly
• good communication skills, including good written and spoken English

The Role

The Campaigner plays a key part in delivering high-impact, evidence-based campaigns across Global Witness’s priority areas, translating investigative findings and policy analysis into strategic advocacy that drives systemic change. As our Advice Session Supervision, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the delivery of advice services across both office-based and community outreach settings.

Essential: 

• At least 1 years’ experience supervising advice services or managing advice teams.

• Experience conducting case checks and applying Citizens Advice quality standards.

• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.. 

• Have access to a vehicle and be willing to travel to locations across Doncaster

Terms and conditions

• Full time salary £28,000 -  £31,700 per annum depending on experience

• Hours - 37 hours per week with some requirement for out of usual office hours remote supervision

• A full-time post holder will be entitled to 28 days which are inclusive of the 8 normal bank holidays and 4 associated days.

The Operations Associate is an administration role which will provide vital day to day coordination for the Foundation's leadership and operations teams. This role will require close attention to detail, strong planning and organisational skills, and a proactive mindset.

Team Overview

The role sits within our Operations Team, reporting to the Director of Operations. 

We are growing and strengthening our Operations Team, consisting of the Director of Operations, Events and Operations Officer, Programme Operations Officer and Finance Officer. Our remit is to ensure the smooth running of our organisation, through developing robust systems, efficient processes, accurate data management, and effective support for our programmes and partners.

This role will also contribute within a new cross-organisational circle that brings together colleagues from operations, communications and evaluation to share insights and support the ongoing development and quality of our programmes.

Duties

1. Administrative and diary support to Executive Team

We have an Executive Team consisting of a CEO, 3 Executive Directors and Director of Operations. Working closely with the team, you will:

• Act as the primary point of contact for the CEO and Executive Director's schedules.

• Proactively manage complex diaries, resolving scheduling conflicts and ensuring appropriate balance between meetings, event delivery and office time. 

• Manage travel arrangements, accommodation bookings, and logistics for the executive team.

• Provide meeting support, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and taking minutes or tracking action points for leadership meetings.

2. Administrative support to our programme delivery

You will hold close day to day contact with our Events and Operations Officer, who is responsible for the smooth running and participant experience at all of our in person events. We are growing our offer to our partners and programme members, and as such, have a growing number of administrative and supporting tasks, including:

• Support the logistics of external programme events, including booking venues, arranging catering, and managing travel.

• Produce and manage event registers and attendee lists.

• Assist with key processes relating to programme partner onboarding and offboarding.

• Support data entry and ensure accurate records are kept within our CRM (HubSpot) regarding programme activities.

3. Organisation wide operational support

We have a lean backbone team, who are responsible for the smooth running of our operational functions. We strive to implement policies and processes that are clear, and reduce burden on the wider team, which in turn allows them to focus on achieving our organisation's goals. You will:

• Finance Administration: Support the Finance Officer with routine financial administration, including raising invoices, tracking expenses, and assisting with the partner payment process.

• HR & Office Management: Support central operational tasks such as ordering IT equipment, managing office supplies, and assisting with basic HR administration (e.g. new starter onboarding documentation).

• Internal Events: Coordinate logistics for internal team meetings, staff away days, and organisation-wide events.

• General Admin: Monitor central shared inboxes, routing inquiries to the appropriate team members, and handle general administrative duties to ensure smooth office and remote-work operations.

This role is advertised as working from home. Our Director of Operations lives in Leeds, and we would like to open this role to someone who is committed to working from a location near Leeds once a week/fortnight.

The role will not entail significant travel, but we would expect the successful candidate to attend 6 team days per year, and staff the occasional event.

About the Service

The North London Rape Crisis (NLRC) offers range of services to women, trans women, and non-binary people aged 13 + who are experiencing or have experienced any form of sexual violence in their lives. We offer a safe and non-judgmental space to women living, working, or studying across 7 of the North London boroughs.

Our expert team provides helpline support, advocacy (ISVA) and ISVA support. We also provide one to one and group counselling to victims and survivors as well as short-term one to one counselling support to supportive family and friends. It is an inclusive service which supports women and girls of all ages, disabilities, sexualities, gender identities (including trans and non-binary), and religions. The service operates from 9am to 5pm, however, appointments can be arranged outside of these if required.

About the Role

The role of the Brief Intervention Independent Sexual Violence Advocate (ISVA) – CSA/CSE is with the Rape Crisis service in North London. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to provide a pro-active emotional, practical and advocacy support for survivors who have experienced any form of sexual violence and are engaging (or considering engaging) with the criminal justice system. The role of Brief Intervention ISVA – CSA/CSE will primarily be working with survivors who have experienced childhood sexual abuse and/or exploitation who cannot access immediate ISVA support. Where there is capacity, the role will also provide short term interventions (3 months) for survivors of other types of sexual violence.

About You

The ideal candidate will have completed ISVA training, or have a willingness to undertake ISVA training, and have experience of supporting women affected by sexual violence. You will be proactive and able to adapt to new situations quickly. You will have a clear understanding of the effects of and issues facing women who have experienced sexual violence, as well as understanding of the Criminal Justice System. You will be able to communicate with people from a range of backgrounds and create good working relationship with service users as well as partner agencies.

The Role

We’re looking for a curious, compassionate and committed individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join the Stroke Recovery Service in the Stockport area. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with stroke survivors and their families, supporting them in rebuilding their lives after stroke.

The service operates in fast-paced, person-centred environment, where Coordinators identify and respond to the evolving needs of stroke survivors and their carers. This includes delivering structured reviews at six months post-stroke, supporting stroke survivors in their ongoing recovery and helping them achieve their personal goals.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Work as part of a team to plan and deliver engaging peer support and communication groups
• Attend multi-disciplinary meetings with the local stroke therapy team, contributing to joined-up care
• Recruit, train and manage volunteers to enhance service delivery (experience in volunteer management is an advantage)
• Support stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community, offering personalised advice and guidance
• Provide resources for stroke survivors to make informed lifestyle changes to reduce the risk of further strokes
