This is a new role, expanding the management team in our Services team, and providing some additional focus for our grant making, commissioning and direct service provision work.

Our grant making work is providing support for wellbeing services across the county, in addition to the £5m Sunflower Appeal, which will provide a major capital grant for a new cancer centre at the Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. We have recently begun commissioning services directly, with our counselling service for family and carers of cancer patients being our first step into this way of working.
There are huge opportunities to develop our work further. Our Bins for Boys project launched in 2024, and we want to see Bins for Boys venues across our region by 2028. Our monitoring, evaluation and impact work is building, and there is grant potential to shape how we report on the value our work has to the communities around us.
We are looking for someone who is a confident communicator, able to develop strong partnerships and has the skill to understand and interpret new project ideas. A clinical background is not a requirement, but a genuine interest in how we can make a difference for people living with cancer is essential.
Our ideal candidate will have an understanding of managing grant-funded projects, a creative approach to challenges and a supportive attitude to managing others. They will be able to navigate complex governance and work with internal and external stakeholders effectively. They will have the ability to see and realise opportunities for income generation to support their work.
This role will work alongside the Head of Services (Cancer Awareness), and there is an expectation of close collaboration and cross-working between the two sides of the team. It will also form part of the wider Lingen Davies management team, attending senior team meetings and collaborating with others to ensure smooth running and development across the charity.
Please note, this role requires travel across our large, rural region. Therefore, a UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.

About Working Well Trust
Working Well Trust is a mental health and employment charity in London. All of our projects share the aim of improving the lives of people with mental health support needs, learning disabilities and/or complex issues through training and employment.
We are now recruiting IPS Employment Advisors to join our IPS service to join our Kingston & Sutton team. This is a full-time, permanent role working 35 hours per week, following the principles of the IPS model to support people into paid employment. What you’ll be doing
If you were working with us, your days would be varied and people-centred. You would manage a caseload of clients with mental health support needs, people experiencing homelessness, and people with offending histories, offering one-to-one support to help them secure and sustain employment that matches their preferences.
You would provide person-centred guidance using the IPS approach (training is provided), helping clients build confidence, prepare for work, and navigate challenges that may arise. A key part of the role involves engaging employers, promoting the value of our service, and identifying suitable job opportunities.
You would work closely with NHS clinical teams, contributing to an integrated approach to recovery through employment. This includes attending team meetings, coordinating support, and maintaining clear, client-led communication. The role also involves working to agreed targets while maintaining a high-quality, supportive service.

Role Purpose
To provide specialist welfare rights advice, casework, and representation to clients, including preparation and attendance at welfare benefit tribunals. The postholder will support clients to maximise income, challenge incorrect benefit decisions, and access their full entitlements, in line with the aims, principles, and quality standards of the Citizens Advice service.

Ensure all casework meets the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) and internal quality requirements.
Outreach & Partnership Working
Deliver advice services at outreach venues across Doncaster as required.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with partner agencies, statutory bodies, and community organisations to ensure joined‑up support for clients.
Research & Campaigns
Contribute to the Citizens Advice research and campaigns agenda by recording evidence of client issues and emerging trends.
Provide anonymised case studies and data to support local and national policy work.
Professional Development & Quality
Keep up to date with welfare benefits legislation, case law, and procedural changes.
Attend supervision, training, and team meetings as required.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to share knowledge and support service delivery.
Work to agreed targets and contribute to service monitoring and reporting.
Administration & Other Duties
Use IT systems for case recording, monitoring outcomes, and producing reports.

Essential Criteria
Experience
Experience of providing welfare rights or social welfare advice.
Experience of preparing benefit appeals and supporting clients through reconsideration or tribunal processes.
Experience of managing a caseload and prioritising work to meet deadlines.
Skills & Knowledge
Strong knowledge of the UK welfare benefits system, or the ability to develop specialist knowledge quickly.
Excellent verbal communication skills, including advocacy and negotiation.
Excellent written communication skills, particularly in drafting submissions, correspondence, and tribunal papers.
Good numeracy skills to complete benefit calculations and financial checks.
Ability to empower clients while maintaining professional boundaries.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
IT & Administration
Confident use of IT systems for case recording, document production, and reporting.
Ability to maintain accurate records in line with quality standards and procedures.

About the role
The Children's Adviser role is designed to provide advice and support to children in their area, both remotely and in person where appropriate. The aim is to ensure that children understand the asylum process, have access to quality legal representation, and are supported in accessing their rights and entitlements.
Contract and hours: Fixed term until 31/12/2026, part-time, 28 hours per week.
