We are offering an opportunity for a qualified Technical Officer in Conservation Design & Impact to play a central role in delivering and supporting Fauna & Flora’s work to understand impact at the organisational level, as well as to support work to strengthen project design and monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) to understand impact and strengthen conservation practice.
You will have proven experience of working with both quantitative and qualitative data from collection to analysis, interpretation, visualisation and utilisation, working to data management best practices. You will have proficiency in a range of tools and technologies to enable this.
You will also have experience of theory-based project design and MEL, grounded in practical experience of delivering conservation initiatives, as well as an appreciation of the range of contexts in which Fauna & Flora works and the implications of these for design and impact work.
You will be able to think holistically and work collaboratively with project staff, partners, and technical specialists from diverse disciplines. You will be an excellent communicator, used to bringing diverse groups together to learn and problem solve. You will have the ability to prioritise and manage your time well to deliver work of a high quality and on time.
This position is based in Cambridge. Some local and international travel may be required. Summary job description
We are currently recruiting a Marine Spatial Data Analyst to provide technical stewardship of Blue Ventures' spatial data system, ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality spatial data, dashboards and decision-support tools that support community-based fisheries management. This role will combine spatial data management, database administration, data visualisation and user engagement, while supporting marine spatial planning analyses and the development of user-centred decision-support tools.
Working closely with the Head of Spatial Ecology, Ecological Data Scientist and the wider Data Science team, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and improving Blue Ventures' spatial data infrastructure, ensuring it remains reliable, well-documented and responsive to programme needs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in spatial data management and analysis, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for using data to support community-led conservation. Reporting to the Head of Spatial Ecology, this is a full-time remote role, with occasional international travel to work closely with colleagues, partners, field teams and communities.
Roles across the Data Science team are highly interdependent, and candidates must be equally comfortable working independently: competently driving their own tasks and team priorities, and thriving within a small, collaborative team. Working closely with the Technical Specialist, Fisheries, you will support project cycle management, contribute to monitoring and evaluation, provide fisheries-related technical input where needed, and help translate project findings into clear and accessible reports, communications and knowledge products. You will also collaborate with project staff, partners and funders to ensure strong working relationships and effective delivery of agreed activities, including supporting sub-grant agreements and compliance with donor regulations.

What's the role about?
As a Finance Business Partner you will work proactively with senior colleagues to provide an added-value service of financial support to our UK Countries Directorate. You will gain the respect and confidence of the colleagues you support through strong communication skills (written and oral) and your ability to constructively challenge ideas and plans. You will add value through gaining an intimate understanding of the Directorate that you partner, together with contributing to business performance and the requirements of the finance function with the charity's need.
You will be a fully qualified accountant with up-to-date technical knowledge and a desire to progress in your profession. We will want the successful candidate to influence change and use their skill set to further drive the organisation's objectives forward. You will also be comfortable working under pressure, to tight deadlines, and interacting with people at all levels within the RSPB.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Fully qualified accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, ICAS, CIMA, or equivalent professional body)
- Sound knowledge of technical accounting legislation

The Opportunity
This is a new and significant appointment for SWT UK. We are looking for a Director of Development to develop and lead our UK fundraising strategy – taking ownership of income generation across all streams, donor communications and supporter stewardship, and managing a team of three talented fundraising professionals.
Our individual supporter base is large globally – growing in UK – loyal and deeply engaged: many give through our elephant adoption programme, which connects them directly with named animals in our care. We are now ready to build on this engaged supporter base and develop it into a structured individual giving programme – with mid-level giving pathways, major donor cultivation, systematic stewardship and deeper philanthropic relationships. That is the central challenge and opportunity of this role.
We also have active corporate and trust relationships, a legacy programme in development, and real potential to grow income from European and international funders. The Director of Development will take ownership of all of this – hands on and strategic in equal measure.
What You Will Do
- Develop and implement a new UK fundraising strategy, establishing clear priorities, income targets and programmes that will drive growth through to 2030 and beyond
- Develop and implement a UK individual giving programme – building on our adoption base to create structured giving journeys, mid-level and major donor cultivation, and meaningful stewardship
- Manage the UK fundraising budget, set and monitor income targets across all streams, and report regularly to the Executive Director on performance and ROI
- Take day-to-day ownership of corporate and trust relationships, writing reports, proposals and partner communications
- Build a major donor programme from the ground up, identifying and cultivating high-value individual prospects
- Develop legacy marketing activity, working alongside our existing legacy administrator and Freewill partnership
- Manage and inspire a team of three: Communications and Fundraising Manager, Retail Manager and Supporter Care Officer, and Fundraising Support Officer
- Oversee the donor database (Donorfy), ensuring data quality and insight-driven decision making
- Explore opportunities to grow income from European and international donors
- Contribute to the global income picture, including through improved donor stewardship and deeper supporter engagement

About You
We are looking for a fundraiser who loves the craft – someone who is energised by building relationships, writing a compelling proposal, developing a giving programme from scratch, and ensuring every supporter feels genuinely valued. This is a hands-on role as much as a leadership one, and the right person will be comfortable doing both.
- Proven track record in fundraising, with demonstrable success securing income from individuals, trusts or corporates – including five-figure gifts and above
- Experience developing individual giving programmes, including mid-level or major donor cultivation
- A hands-on practitioner – comfortable writing proposals, reports and donor communications yourself
- Experience managing a small fundraising team with warmth, clarity and accountability
- Strong relationship management and stewardship skills
- Experience working with a donor CRM and using data to inform fundraising decisions
- Comfortable in a building role – excited by developing programmes that don't yet exist
- Experience managing fundraising budgets and producing income forecasts and performance reports.
- Genuine passion for wildlife conservation – this role is for someone who cares about the cause

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Head of Estate and Programmes - North to join our North England Team. The Head of Estate and Programmes will lead the Trust’s estate team and related programmes of work in North England. They will take a strategic overview, identifying and shaping new initiatives to ensure that the estate and associated programmes are developed and managed to the highest professional standards and in accordance with the Woodland Trust’s management approach, policies and standards.
The Role:

The Candidate:
- Experienced leader with a proven track record of managing complex estates, large-scale programmes, projects and multidisciplinary teams to deliver ambitious strategic outcomes.
- Strong understanding of woodland, forestry, conservation, land management and the operation of large estates, with knowledge of ancient woodland management highly desirable.
- Commercially and financially astute, with experience managing significant budgets and balancing strategic priorities, operational performance and value for money.
- Confident in leading health, safety, risk management and governance activities within geographically dispersed operational environments.
- Skilled at building influential relationships and strategic partnerships, with the credibility to engage effectively with funders, land managers, public bodies, conservation organisations and other key stakeholders.
- Good understanding of England’s land-use, environmental and forestry policy landscape, particularly across the North, and the ability to translate this into practical outcomes.
- Highly organised and adaptable, with strong project management skills, confidence using MS Office and GIS systems.
- Professionally qualified to HND, degree level or equivalent in forestry, land management or a related discipline, with membership (or working towards membership) of the Institute of Chartered Foresters. Additionally, hold a full valid driving licence.

The importance of your role:
Individual giving and corporate support are vital to the delivery of RZSS's ambitious strategy and the Fundraising Manager is a senior role. Working with the Head of Fundraising and colleagues across RZSS, the post-holder will manage a small team to deliver inspiring multi-channel campaigns for individual giving, legacies and patrons as well as expanding a new major donor programme. The postholder will also manage the corporate partners programme and support the expansion of corporate sponsorship opportunities.
This hugely varied role will include responsibility for developing our donor journey, managing relationships with major donors, leading events and donor visits whilst ensuring all supporters receive excellent stewardship. Some of the things you’ll do:
- Contribute to and support the implementation and delivery of the fundraising strategy and annual fundraising plans to meet agreed engagement targets

This exciting role sits within our Wilder Streets, Wilder Lives programme, which works alongside communities facing barriers to accessing nature and environmental opportunities. As a wildlife charity serving a heavily urbanised area, a major element of our work is to provide ecological evidence and related information, that supports the designation of wildlife sites and informs the protection of nature in the face of urban development.
You will work within EcoRecord to deliver high quality data products and services to a range of customers and users. EcoRecord is part of a network of Local Environmental Records Centres across the UK and provides information services to a wide range of users such as local authorities, statutory agencies, ecological consultants, national and local recording schemes, and others.
The post of Biodiversity Data and Evidence Officer is a central and varied role within EcoRecord, that will include making use of GIS mapping and specialised databases to analyse and digitise ecological data. The role will also include promoting high quality biological recording activities, supporting specialist recording groups, and engaging with volunteers, including through our social media channels.
