You’ll need:
HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
Strong experience supporting children/young people and their parents/carers (including complex presentations).
Proven skills in sensory processing assessment and intervention, including regulation strategies, activity adaptation and environmental modification.
Confidence working in an attachment- and trauma-informed way with adoptive/kinship/care-experienced families (or closely related work).
Excellent communication and report-writing skills, able to translate specialist thinking into practical, non-judgemental guidance that families can use.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Occupational Therapist (Sensory & Attachment) will deliver high-quality, trauma-informed occupational therapy assessment and intervention to families with a history of adoption, kinship care and long-term fostering. The postholder will bring advanced expertise in sensory processing/sensory integration and the impact of early adversity, attachment disruption and developmental trauma on regulation, participation and family life. The role will work as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) within PATH, contributing to formulation-led support, practical strategies and therapeutic approaches that strengthen safety, connection, and everyday functioning at home, school and in the community.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·Provide specialist assessment and intervention where sensory processing differences interact with attachment needs, developmental trauma, neurodiversity and emotional/behavioural presentations.
·Co-produce practical, strengths-based support plans with parents/carers and, where appropriate, the child/young person; provide clear strategies that are realistic for family life.
·Deliver evidence-informed interventions (1:1 and group-based as appropriate) including sensory-based regulation strategies, activity adaptation, routine design, environmental modification and caregiver coaching.
·Integrate attachment- and trauma-informed principles (e.g., PACE/connection-based approaches) into OT recommendations, ensuring strategies support safety, relational connection and felt security.
·Contribute to MDT formulation and case discussions, offering an occupational therapy perspective on function, participation, sensory-motor development and regulation
·Prepare high-quality written outputs including assessment summaries, recommendations, letters and reports suitable for families and professionals; contribute to documentation required for commissioning/regulated service evidence as needed.
·Support families to understand the sensory, neurodevelopmental and trauma/attachment factors that may underpin behaviour and distress, and to implement strategies safely.
·Maintain accurate, timely records in line with organisational policies, data protection and confidentiality requirements.
·Contribute to the development of resources (e.g., guides, webinars, workshops) that translate specialist OT knowledge into accessible tools for families and professionals.
·Contribute to delivery of training in your specialist area (sensory processing, regulation, sensory-attachment interface) internally and externally.
·Actively manage a caseload, prioritising risk and complexity, and working within agreed service pathways, timescales and outcome measures.
CRITERIA
Knowledge and Experience
• Significant experience working with children and young people and their parents/carers.
• Experience delivering assessment and intervention for sensory processing differences and regulation needs.
• Experience delivering remote/online OT interventions and caregiver coaching.
• Experience of group work (parents/carers and/or young people).
• Experience of working with adopted children, previously looked-after children, kinship or long-term foster families (or closely related settings).
• Strong understanding of attachment, developmental trauma and the impact of early adversity on regulation, behaviour and participation.
• Ability to integrate sensory strategies with relational/attachment-informed approaches.
• Training/experience in DDP, PACE, NVR, therapeutic parenting or other attachment-informed models.
• Expert knowledge of sensory processing and sensory-based regulation strategies.
• Ability to differentiate sensory needs from (and understand overlap with) trauma responses, anxiety, and neurodevelopmental differences.
• Sensory Integration training (e.g., postgraduate modules) and/or recognised competency frameworks.
• Knowledge of neurodevelopmental profiles (e.g., autism, ADHD, DLD, FASD) and how these can interact with trauma/attachment and sensory processing.
• Ability to provide accessible psychoeducation to families and partner professionals.
Qualifications and Education
•Degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• Current HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist. Postgraduate training/qualification relevant to sensory integration, sensory processing or advanced paediatric OT practice.

You will identify blocks and barriers within existing systems and find solutions to make wider and transformational change locally. You will need experience of delivering frontline services, supporting adults from diverse backgrounds with multiple and complex needs and/or multiple disadvantages. You will need to demonstrate a good understanding of Manchester based services and community assets, be able to represent Shelter externally and have an appreciation of the barriers and personal difficulties faced by people accessing local services. Proactive, creative, and collaborative in your approach, you will have great relationship building skills, a flair for leading change and the confidence to challenge the status quo. You will also have demonstrable experience of working with volunteers and co-production to make decisions.
About the team
The team will be made up of six Navigators based across the City of Manchester, as well as a Peer Coordinator and Peer Mentors. You will hold your own caseload, supported by the Team Leader. You will work alongside Navigators who are based within partner organisations at the Big Life Group and Back on Track, as well as a team of peer volunteers. The team is responsible for contributing to Shelter’s wider community priorities and work with internal colleagues to deliver our strategy.

To lead professional development and school improvement programmes facilitating the Voice 21 approach in our Voice 21 Oracy Schools by delivering our high impact learning experiences and materials for teachers and school leaders. To be part of the team, designing and reviewing programme content.

Your responsibilities
Quality programme delivery
Lead high quality professional development and school improvement programmes in our Pathway programmes and Open Learning for groups of teachers. These may be delivered in person, online or in school.
Deliver transformative consultancy support, working with teachers and school leaders to design and implement bespoke improvement plans for their oracy provision, including through in school and online consultancy support, and one-to-one advice.
Build credibility and purposeful relationships with programme participants, both at programme days and touchpoints, and on an on-going basis to drive impact in our schools.
Be responsible for participant learning and experience on your programmes, upholding high standards for all elements such as preparation, adapting to participant needs, content and rigour, on-going interactions and support, and participant feedback.
Learning content & programme development
Proactively share insights and learning from the programmes you deliver, proposing and shaping solutions to enable Voice 21 to continually improve its programme offer.
Apply and share expertise through varied outputs such as teaching materials, online learning content, resources, written or video outputs. Proactively identify and respond to opportunities or gaps and fulfil briefs or commissions.
Contribute to the continual improvement of Voice 21’s programmes, through development and review cycles, based on first-hand learning from our schools, content expertise, programme insights and external research and evidence.

Act as an ambassador for Voice 21’s national oracy expertise, communicating the value and impact of our approach at conferences, events and through publications.

Your experience
You are an excellent teacher (primary or secondary)
You are passionate about teaching and learning, and the role of talk in learning. You have used talk to support learning in your classroom.
You have experience leading whole-school change and inspiring teachers to embrace new approaches and ideas.
You have a knowledge of a range of speaking and listening techniques and contexts for oracy, these could include: debate, dialogic teaching, storytelling, public speaking or communication and language development.
You are a strong communicator both when working in a small team and when facilitating learning for large groups of adults.
You are flexible, can think on your feet and can bring your own experiences to the work we do.
You are highly-organised, look for solutions and can prioritise and manage a varied workload.

War on Want challenges the root causes of poverty and injustice. We run impactful campaigns in the UK - and work with partner organisations across the Global South. We are currently relaunching our trade justice campaigning and are looking for an energetic early career campaigner to work on it.
The trade system sits at the heart of the rigged global economy. It perpetuates social, economic and climate injustice. From fossil fuel corporations suing governments in secret courts, to British mining giants violently extracting minerals from countries in the Global South, to upholding neocolonial patterns of economic inequality.
Our re-launched campaign will challenge these secret ‘ISDS’ courts and the dangerous global rush for critical minerals, while championing trade justice.
This is a diverse and challenging role. On a typical day, the successful candidate might be planning a panel discussion, producing social media content, meeting an MP, carrying out research, organising a protest, or coordinating with allied organisations. About the Role
Reading SU are thrilled to be searching for a Director of Commercial Services, a dynamic leader experienced in licensed trade, catering, events, and marketing. This role is not just about maintaining the status quo but about reimagining and diversifying the commercial services in line with student community needs.
The ideal candidate will be both strategic and hands-on, with an ability to develop Reading SU’s commercial services while also being involved in delivery of the operations.

We are seeking an experienced, relational, and highly organised leader with a strong passion for the issues of mental health, poverty, and social justice that underpin Make Lunch. Working alongside other Church Relationship Leads, this role will train, support, and develop church-based volunteer Make Lunch teams, ensuring they provide effective support and meaningful connection to children, young people, and families in their communities.
With excellent people, communication and training skills, the postholder will nurture positive, growing relationships with volunteer Make Lunch Coordinators, enabling excellent programme leadership at a local level. Operationally astute and confident in bringing constructive challenge, they will ensure all Make Lunch activities are safe and fully compliant. About the team
Shelter’s HR Delivery team is part of a Strategic Enablement directorate that brings together core support functions such as HR Delivery, Finance, Tech & Data, Governance, Planning and Property. Our role is to partner, support and advise over 1,300 staff on employee relations issues. We also manage restructures and transfers, employee engagement, reward and recognition, staff development and resourcing and payroll processes and ensure effective HR policies and procedures are developed and evaluated.
About the role
As an HR Services Administrator, we’ll rely on you to help the team to deliver a great customer service experience and provide administrative support on HR and Payroll matters to internal and external customers alike. Indeed, you’ll be a key member of the team that’s the first point of contact with HR via our HR enquiries service desk and phoneline, supports employee lifecycle administration and works closely with the payroll team to ensure delivery against key payroll timescales. Answering queries and signposting to the right answers, keeping our Intranet HR Hub up to date with our policies, completing any contracts and other activity associated with changes as notified by Line Managers and processing data within our HR Information System (we use Access PeopleXD) – all are aspects of this interesting and varied role.

Already with some relevant experience (ideally HR, but we’ll consider other administrative experience too) you have a real commitment to continuous professional development and want to develop your skills and knowledge within the HR area. In this important role, you will provide a comprehensive homelessness advice and prevention service, helping vulnerable households understand their housing options and access suitable accommodation.
You will assess housing applications, determine statutory homelessness duties and work closely with partners to help households secure sustainable housing solutions. We are looking for an enthusiastic communicator to join our team to coordinate our community and corporate fundraising activities. The Corporate and Community Fundraiser is a fixed term maternity leave cover – it is therefore a great opportunity if you have previous experience and would like to use this to make a big impact.
The Corporate and Community Fundraiser will be responsible for raising money from the community and local/national organisations at our small but always rapidly growing and highly motivated charity. Corporate fundraising – you will manage and develop our existing relationships with companies and organisations to maximise potential partnerships and income; formulating and implementing a plan to raise the profile of the Foundation to build new relationships, both locally and nationally.
Communication – you will capture and develop stories about our work for use with fundraising, relationship building and reporting, contributing to regular newsletters, website updates and social media posts.
