Job Title: Senior Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker
Location: Based in Catford in a well connected area near Bellingham, Catford, and Catford Bridge stations, with nearby bus stops. Please be kindly aware there is no step free access at this location and some of our other sites.
Salary: £28,000
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a rota which includes 3 to 4 night shifts a week between 20:00 - 08:30. There may be some flexibility required around these hours as per service requirements.
About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker to support in leading the night shift within our Lewisham service. The service offers specialist intensive rehabilitation for people who require more enhanced interventions than that which is offered within community services. We provide residents with support to step down into less supported accommodation, becoming more independent and integrated into the community.
As a Senior within the team, you will be the main point of contact during the night shift across two residential properties, leading the team by example, providing specialist support and managing the environment to be psychologically informed to empower the team and residents to ensure safety, wellbeing, and progress towards resident recovery goals.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Providing tailored, person centred support that promotes recovery, rehabilitation and independence.
- Monitoring residents’ wellbeing, carrying out regular checks, and responding to any incidents or emergencies.
- Ensuring a calm, safe, and supportive environment that promotes positive engagement and progress.
- Remain alert and monitor CCTV throughout the shift.
- Complete all routine night duties and any tasks handed over by the day shift or service manager.
- Key worker responsibilities: complete inductions, support plans, reviews, risk assessments, and welfare checks; update records, monitor access, manage unauthorized visitors, follow missing person protocols, and escalate issues to on call when needed.
About You
We’re looking for a resilient and compassionate individual to join our team as a Senior Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker, supporting residents to reach their full potential within a flexible, recovery focused service. You’ll provide high quality care, working collaboratively as part of a supportive team that values communication, empathy, and empowerment. You will be able to be proactive and continue supporting our residents even during quieter hours, supporting with ensuring the service runs smoothly and you are actively engaged with the wider team and residents, supporting the team to stay motivated and working together to achieve the service KPI's.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Previous experience working with people with multiple complex backgrounds/needs, mental health, substance misuse, alcohol, and behaviours
- Previous experience creating co-produced support plans, key working, and care planning, providing appropriate interventions for service users
- Previous experience in a similar position, where you can share your skills knowledge, and experience to support others
- Ability to be a point of contact and specialist in the service to support the team and residents with various queries and challenges
- IT Proficiency; ability to learn new software and basic Microsoft
- Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs

About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Registered Practitioner Psychologist with a background in clinical psychology to join our team in Croydon.
The service offers a psychologically informed environment across four sites, providing low to high support forensic mental health services to our residents with forensic mental health needs, complex conditions, and dual diagnosis.
In this role, you will drive the delivery of evidence based psychological assessments and interventions aimed at the rehabilitation and reintegration of our residents into the communities. This is a creative, evolving, and impactful role which works closely with our Group Psychological Lead and wider teams to provide support to staff and at times residents to support in providing a streamlined and psychologically informed service.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Provide advice, guidance, and support to the team with supporting our residents to overcome personal challenges and create a supportive environment
- Advise and streamline best practices, and enhance the overall skills and expertise of the team to deliver high quality care and support
- Provide clinical supervision to the team
- Provide highly specialised psychological assessments for our residents with mental health and complex needs
- Exercise full clinical responsibility for residents psychological care as a care coordinator within a multidisciplinary team
- Formulate and implement plans for various therapy routes and management of assessing mental health conditions based upon appropriate conceptual frameworks and evidence-based practices
About You
We're looking for someone who is a self-starter, able to proactively encourage, take leadership and ownership for creating a psychologically informed environment. You will be able to communicate highly complex and sensitive information effectively within the organisation and with external partners, collaborating with external stakeholders regularly in a multidisciplinary approach. You will be able to utilise your own expertise and support in empowering the wider team to enhance their skills to deliver a service which is supportive, safe, and in line with best practice for the organisation and external regulatory bodies.
- HCPC Registration is essential
- Post-graduate doctoral level training as a Registered Practitioner Psychologist including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology
- Previous experience working as a qualified clinical and/or forensic psychologist, including working with people with complex backgrounds/needs and a good understanding of the sector we run our services in
- Ability to teach, train, consult, and deliver clinical supervision
- Understanding of criminology, psychology, and behavioural patterns, and how they link to different behaviours and engagement
- Ability to understand and apply safeguarding protocols as they arise
- Ability and willingness to show flexibility in working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents

Race Against Dementia is a global charity founded by three-time Formula 1 World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart OBE to find preventions, treatments and cures for dementia – faster.
We fund and support pioneering early-career scientists around the world, giving them the tools, mentoring and Formula 1-inspired mindset to accelerate breakthroughs. From the UK to the USA, Australia to South Africa, our researchers are rethinking how dementia research is done – applying data science, AI and engineering to neuroscience in bold, collaborative ways.
This role sits within Race Against Dementia’s small, dynamic Operations team, who oversee the charity’s research programmes and internal processes. The team is responsible for managing Race Against Dementia’s research portfolio – from coordinating funding calls and supporting the selection of the projects we fund, to delivering the training and development programme for our researchers.
Purpose of the role
The Research Officer plays a central role in delivering Race Against Dementia’s research activity, helping to strengthen our research programmes and support the researchers we fund. The role combines strong organisational skills with clear science communication: coordinating processes, systems and partnerships to ensure smooth delivery, while translating research progress into accessible updates for internal and external audiences.
Duties and Responsibilities
Research administration:
- Manage the administration of all grant calls and related processes.
- Coordinate all incoming communications regarding research matters, ensuring timely, professional responses.
- Maintain team calendars and shared resources to support smooth team operations.
- Set up review sessions with Race Against Dementia Fellows to monitor progress.
- Support preparation of updates and progress reports for charity Trustees, funders and supporters.
- Work with the Research Manager to coordinate training activities for Race Against Dementia researchers.
- Support the planning and delivery of the annual in-person training event for Race Against Dementia researchers.
- Work closely with Race Against Dementia’s research partners and training partners to coordinate joint activities, communication, and ensure smooth delivery of collaborative projects and training activities.
- Undertake research to identify new organisations aligned with our mission.
Science communications
- Track key developments in dementia research and emerging trends in the field.
- Support the creation of research related social media content for the charity’s social media channels.
- Support the development of press materials to announce research updates and milestones.
- Contribute to copywriting and content development for the Race Against Dementia’s website.
- Work with the Research Manager to ensure the wider team is kept up to date with research developments across our network and the wider field.
- Help build and maintain a network of key dementia research stakeholders across academia and charities.
Other duties
Carry out any other duties as required by the Research Manager, CEO and Board of Trustees including:
- To attend, where appropriate, local, regional and national meetings/events.
- To maintain a good knowledge of national and local initiatives which are of benefit to Race Against Dementia.
- To administer your own workload, including meeting targets and deadlines in line with the Race Against Dementia appraisal system.
- To attend relevant CPD training events as required.
- To undertake responsibility, as part of the team, for all Health and Safety work related matters.

What are your favourite parts of the job? Winning contracts is a really great feeling, especially when I know they’ve been shaped with service users and colleague to make sure we’re designing services that offer the best support to the most people. I also value the constant opportunities to learn, feeling supported in my development, and seeing the decisions I’m involved in having a real impact on people’s lives.
What were your highlights from last year? Our team away day in Liverpool, which was great fun as well as chance to hear from the managers of our new Liverpool service. It was one of the first bids I worked on as an Assistant Business Development Officer, and it was amazing to see our bid come to life, being delivered by a passionate group of people.
What would you say to someone thinking of applying? I’d definitely say go for it, and once you start, embrace how much there is to learn! Make the most of a really knowledgeable and supportive team, of managers who genuinely want you to succeed, and of all the opportunities to try new things and develop new skills.”

“What was your route into the team? I was a psychology graduate and teacher training drop out! With my experience of working in schools and academic research into young people’s substance use, I started working as an Education Lead for one of CGL’s young person’s services. After a year I applied to join the Business Development Team, wanting to utilise my experience of working frontline and my love of research and writing. I’ve progressed from Assistant to Officer and then Senior Officer since joining the team in 2022.
How would you describe the team? Helpful, real and full of knowledge. Everyone comes from different backgrounds and is happy to share their skills, knowledge and learning. I’ve never felt like I’ve asked a silly question, and I don’t feel like I must put a on ‘work mask’.
What would you say to someone thinking of applying? Not to think they can’t do it just because they don’t have experience in bid writing or business development. It’s more important to be able to demonstrate that they’re a confident professional writer and are really passionate about working in the drug and alcohol support sector.”

Cranstoun is an independent charity and leading provider of specialist treatment, harm reduction and recovery services to those affected by drug and alcohol use. This is an exciting opportunity to become a Key Worker within our high performing psychosocial drug and alcohol service in HMP Birmingham.
We provide a range of services for those affected by drugs and alcohol. Our skilled and compassionate team work closely with people who use our services to change and save lives. We combine proven expertise in treatment and recovery with innovative approaches and actively involve those we help in improving the design of the services we provide.
You will be based in our psychosocial team working with adult males (over 18 years old). You will be responsible for delivering a range of elements of our substance use work including case management, assessments, care planning, the delivery of one-to-one interventions to include harm reduction and motivational work, group work, and engagement support as well as other associated duties. You need to be committed to supporting people who use our services to make positive changes to prepare them for release into the community, and you will arrange continuity of care. You will work in collaboration with the clinical team and integrated working is a key element of this role. You will work within the prison setting and contribute towards the wider prison drug strategy.
Having experience of supporting people with complex health needs including substance use, you will bring knowledge and commitment to deliver drug and alcohol treatment. You will have a non-judgemental attitude and a desire to support the lives of people who use our services to be healthier and safer by delivering a high-quality service.
Experience of working with drug and alcohol use is essential. You will be a competent communicator, with the ability to work independently and be comfortable and enthusiastic, both with the highlighted client group and working in partnership with other service providers. Previous experience or knowledge of working with individuals on opiate replacement treatment, and/or involved in the criminal justice system will be advantageous.

Build Your Future is a targeted youth employment project supporting young people aged 16–24 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET). The Build Your Future Project Coordinator plays a central role in ensuring the effective day-to-day delivery of the project. Working closely with High Trees delivery teams and partner organisations, the postholder will coordinate outreach and engagement activity, support the provision of high-quality pastoral support for young people, and ensure strong project coordination, monitoring and reporting.
This role will suit someone who is highly organised, collaborative and passionate about supporting young people facing multiple barriers into education, training and employment.
