At Young Roots, we want to see a compassionate and welcoming society for young refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. We work alongside young people seeking safety in the UK, building trusted relationships, providing practical and emotional support and promoting young people’s rights and power.

Our youth clubs and casework are transformative for young refugees, allowing young people who have fled danger, had traumatic journeys and who are often here alone, to find community and connection, have a space to be a young person and access support in addressing a whole range of practical challenges they face. We also draw on our evidence from working every day with young refugees and asylum seekers to call for change to the laws and policies which are harming young people. 

The role

We’re looking for an experienced and collaborative Head of Finance to lead our financial management, planning, and governance.

This is a senior and influential role, sitting on our Leadership Group and working closely with the CEO, Trustees, and Finance Committee. You’ll provide clear financial insight to support decision-making, ensure strong financial stewardship, and help us plan sustainably for the future.

You’ll take ownership of the full finance function, supported by an Internal Operations Officer who manages day-to-day transactional processing.

What you’ll do

• Lead financial planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management
• Produce clear, high-quality management accounts and financial analysis
• Support strategic decision-making through strong financial insight and modelling
• Ensure robust financial controls, systems, and compliance (including audit, SORP, and statutory reporting)
• Partner with colleagues across the organisation to support budgeting, funding bids, and full cost recovery
• Oversee payroll and financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
• Contribute to organisational strategy as part of the Leadership Group

About you

You’ll be a confident and values-driven finance professional who enjoys working collaboratively and making complex information accessible.

You’ll bring:

• Significant experience in a senior finance role within a charity or not-for-profit
• Strong knowledge of charity finance, including SORP, restricted funding, and compliance
• Experience producing management accounts, budgets, and forecasts for non-finance audiences
• The ability to influence and support senior leaders with financial insight
• A proactive, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail

A professional accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent experience is desirable.

This role is designed as a part-time position (28 hours/week) with flexibility around how hours are worked. We are a hybrid organisation, with the option to work remotely or from our London offices (Croydon or Brent). We ask that ideally you attend at least one in-person team day per month in London.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Buckinghamshire Service for you to join a dynamic team committed delivering targeted interventions to young people around drug and alcohol awareness, education and prevention. You will hold a caseload of young people and support them on a one-to-one basis through our different treatment pathways. You will run and plan our group work programmes and support young people through our treatment pathways.

The role will work in partnership and liaise with other young people services throughout Buckinghamshire, to provide holistic support to young people accessing the service. We need to record information about what we do, so enjoying a bit of admin work and attention to detail is important, but most of the time you’ll be enjoying working with young people from all backgrounds, making a difference to their lives. You will be required to work flexibly across operational sites as required so must hold a full UK driving license and have access to a car. Don’t worry, there is a wide array of training and development opportunities to help support you in your work.

Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week

Full Time Salary Range: £27,861.26- £32,002.35*

*Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

About the role: 

• Supporting young people from point of entry into the service and through their treatment journey 
• Providing screening, assessment, psychosocial interventions, integrated care planning, post treatment support, including transfer of care 
• Identifying and responding effectively to potential safeguarding issues 
• Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to young people and the wider community 
• Promoting carer, service user and community involvement 
• Providing advocacy for access to partnership services 
• Working with young people to support positive, holistic outcomes in relation to their health and wellbeing, enabling them to lead safe, healthy, and purposeful lives: reducing risk and increasing resilience 
• Working flexibly across sites where required

About you: 

• Experience of working with young people and knowledge of the issues they face 
• Knowledge of safeguarding concerns in relation to children and young people and the Fraser Competence framework 
• Have an excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within a related field 
• Knowledge of working with evidence-based practice around young people’s substance misuse treatment services and methods, including relevant best practice guidance 
• An accomplished communicator, both verbal and written with a high degree of personal IT competency 
• Be able to accurately update and maintain records and to work to deadlines for the submission of information, e.g., reports 
• Have excellent team working and interpersonal skills, maintaining a highly cooperative 
• approach to supporting colleagues in delivering service objectives

The Soil Association Land Trust safeguards legacies of productive land, providing a safe haven and preventing land being lost from farming and growing. Land is donated by retiring farmers and landowners, often those with no dependents, who wish to see their life’s work continue into the future.

The Land Trust is part of the Soil Association family and is governed by its own Articles and its own Board of Trustees.
You will be working closely with colleagues in the Farming and Land Use and the Land Trust Woodoaks team.

About You

This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in the effective running and growth of the Land Trust charity. You’ll provide vital administrative and governance support, organising the AGM, board meetings and sub committees, preparing detailed minutes, and ensuring timely follow up of agreed actions. You will help keep our policies and procedures up to date and work closely with our accounts team to raise invoices and support credit control. Alongside this, you will contribute to the delivery of the Land Trust development plan, supporting fundraising initiatives and helping to produce promotional materials.
You will also be at the heart of managing our existing land holdings, liaising with tenants and land agents on tenancy matters, coordinating repairs and inspections, and supporting compliance. As we explore new land opportunities, you’ll help nurture relationships with existing and prospective donors and contribute to updating land acquisition policies. Acting as the front line contact for all internal and external enquiries, you will champion the Trust’s work, ensuring our services are well promoted and working with the digital team to keep the Land Trust and Woodoaks websites current, engaging and informative.

Every day, people affected by dementia face questions about what’s next. For many, taking part in clinical research offers hope, purpose, and a chance to shape the future of dementia care. But finding the right trial, understanding what it involves, and knowing how to take part can be confusing.
At Alzheimer’s Society, we are committed to breaking down these barriers. The Alzheimer’s Society UK Dementia Trials Network (UKDTN) Trial Finder is an open-access platform that connects people living with mild cognitive impairment or dementia, their families, and healthcare professionals, with research opportunities across the UK. It empowers people to make informed decisions about taking part in clinical trials, wherever they live.
We are looking for a Clinical Trial Finder Officer who can ensure this platform is accurate, accessible, and meaningful. By raising awareness of, and widening access to, clinical trial opportunities, your work will help more people to take part in clinical trials and feel more in control of their journey.
You will work closely with colleagues across the Alzheimer’s Society UKDTN Research Nurse Programme, Research Communications team, Data and Digital teams, Participation team, and with a range of external partners to maintain the Trial Finder, respond to enquiries, and ensure that the platform is reliable, culturally informed and inclusive. Your attention to detail, organisational skills, and passion for supporting people affected by dementia will help make a tangible difference in people’s lives.
About the role

- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Trial Finder, keeping it reliable, user-friendly, and up-to-date.
- Maintain accurate, accessible, and approved study listings, ensuring clarity for all users.
- Implement and manage quality control processes, including version control, audit trails, and regular review of trial entries.
- Monitor user feedback and enquiries, resolving gaps and escalating technical issues while driving continuous improvement based on insights.
- Liaise with clinicians, NHS teams, study sponsors, and external stakeholders to verify trial details and maintain accurate contact and site information.
- Work collaboratively across Alzheimer’s Society teams, UKDTN patient workstream and wider dementia research stakeholders to coordinate updates, maintain consistency, and respond to queries.
- Track, report, and analyse key metrics on Trial Finder usage, reach, and impact, and support wider communications activity.
