We’re seeking an experienced Events Fundraising Officer to work on delivering our UK wide portfolio of challenge events. Oasis St Martin’s Village

Oasis St Martins Village is part of Oasis which is a group of organisations, committed to building stronger communities. The vision of the Village is to transform the life-chances of children, who are struggling in or not coping with mainstream education, by offering them and their families support and opportunity.

Our work is based around the principle that “it takes a village to raise a child”.

Oasis Nurture

Oasis Nurture is a project that is carried out on the Village. It is a therapeutic intervention designed specifically for those children who might be described as the missing middle – those who do not meet the threshold for an ECHP but who nevertheless struggle to engage with the curriculum for a variety of reasons.

Oasis Nurture is in its pilot phase, working with four local schools, offering a two day a week intervention to a small group of children.

As a Teacher, you will be working with a maximum of six children supported by a key worker and a therapeutic practitioner. You will work alongside a therapeutic lead and a clinical lead.

In this role you will be:

· Working with the home school and parents/carers to understand the children’s needs and developing agreed goals for learning and emotional and social development

· Developing a basic curriculum for Key Stage 2 children for numeracy and literacy, related to their stage learning at their home school, so that they don’t fall behind.

· Providing a personalised, bespoke and restorative approach for each individual child to help address their challenges and fulfil their potential. 

· Maintaining clear and accurate records for individual children on the designated online systems and reporting back to the home school and parents/carers on the agreed goals

· You will also be working with the Therapeutic Lead to provide opportunities for mindful therapeutic care to remove barriers to learning and provide emotional support to access the curriculum. While this role requires primary teaching experience it also requires someone who has experience of working in trauma responsive ways and understands the therapeutic needs of children who struggle to engage.

Oasis Nurture is not an Alternative Provision; it is a part time intervention designed to support local schools and children and their families. Oasis Nurture is not a statutory provision and does not therefore follow teachers’ pay and conditions. Oasis offers all the usual employment benefits including sick pay and pension.

About the role

In this role we will trust you to work with other team members on a caseload of clients delivering personalised support to them. You will proactively engage with our clients and provide a hand so they can overcome barriers, move into independent living and sustain a tenancy. This includes mental health problems, social isolation, challenging behaviour, finance and debt, alcohol and drug abuse. About Care4Calais

Care4Calais is a volunteer-based charity providing essential aid and support for refugees in France and the UK. 

In the UK, we collect and distribute clothing, shoes, mobile phones, and other essential items, alongside offering social support and access to legal, medical, and educational services. In northern France, we operate year-round from Calais, working alongside local communities in Calais and Dunkirk to provide warm clothing, bedding, and services to displaced refugees living in challenging and dangerous conditions.

All of Care4Calais' operations are supported by a small, dedicated staff team, who supervise large volunteer teams to provide critical support to asylum seekers and people on the move in both the UK and France.

About the Role

Care4Calais is recruiting an Operations Coordinator to support its humanitarian operations in northern France. The association operates every day of the week, coordinating the distribution of non-food items (NFI) and providing services and activities, such as phone charging, games, and access to hairdressing, bicycle repair, and sewing equipment.

As an Operations Coordinator, you will oversee the daily distribution of aid and manage volunteer teams, ensuring that proper safety procedures for effective aid distribution are in place, communicated, and consistently applied. You will also contribute to warehouse operations and logistical planning.

You will be part of Care4Calais' core team in France and report directly to the Head of Field Operations in France. The role requires a proactive, hardworking individual with excellent organizational skills and the ability to make quick, compassionate decisions in a fast-paced environment. While this is a challenging position, you will receive a thorough induction and work alongside experienced team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide core operational support for Care4Calais’ operations in northern France.
• Support the logistics and purchasing department to manage new and second-hand clothing stock and assist with operational planning for field activities.
• Oversee and deliver Care4Calais’ NFI aid distributions and services to people on the move at the French/British border.
• Manage and support teams of up to 40 volunteers daily to provide services in Calais and Dunkirk, including leading daily briefings and safety training.
• Support the smooth running of a warehouse and donation storage facility.
• Work alongside a small staff team to develop processes, procedures, and documentation to improve the operational efficiency of Care4Calais’ humanitarian work.
• Attend external meetings and build and maintain relationships with partners and key stakeholders, ensuring Care4Calais' operations run smoothly.

 

Person Specification

Essential Criteria:

• Experience working or volunteering in a humanitarian context, with human rights organisations, or with refugees and asylum-seeking individuals.
• Experience managing projects that involve risk management, health and safety, safeguarding, and compliance.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly and concisely to a wide audience.
• Experience managing warehouse operations or complex logistical and purchasing projects.
• Excellent written and spoken proficiency in English.
• Strong digital literacy, including the ability to use Google Workspace effectively.
• Full, clean driving licence and experience or willingness to drive vans.

Desirable Criteria:

• Proficiency in one or more of the languages spoken within asylum-seeking communities, such as Arabic, Farsi, Pashto, Dari, Kurdish Sorani, Tigrinya, or Amharic.
• Experience working with teams from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Experience delivering mass distributions of NFI or other aid in a humanitarian context.

Working within the Potteries Moneywise Team

Casework – The post holder will conduct a full exploration of the client’s financial and holistic circumstances to provide robust advice specific to the client’s needs.

The advisor will be required to act for the client where necessary and communicate with third parties such as water providers, energy providers or the Local Authority to progress the client’s case.

 Advice will be delivered through a variety of channels including face-to-face (drop-in and appointments), telephone or digital channels and must conform to the Citizens Advice Quality of Advice standards and funder requirements.

The prospective advisor will be able to balance good quality alongside being able to achieve SLAs and KPIs in accordance with our contractual agreements.

We’re looking for a PWP or Low Intensity Psychological Worker who will support survivors and their loved ones with evidence-based low intensity interventions.

You’ll play a key role in supporting clients, managing communications, and assisting with volunteers. You will work closely with our Community Development and Criminal Justice Services Practitioners to ensure survivors have access to proper support. All staff have a Thematic Leadership area to expand the organisation’s knowledge in areas impacting male survivors and their loved ones.

You’ll be a qualified and experienced practitioner working with trauma with a background of mental health and engagement. We’re especially keen to hear from people with experience in working with men, sexual harms and their loved ones, but we value transferable skills too. As part of the Training and Registration team in the Education Directorate, this role will be responsible for monitoring and assessing applications for Certificates of Completion of Training (CCT) and providing specialist advice and guidance while contributing to ongoing improvement in GP training and registration.
