Job Purpose:

The primary responsibility of the Gift Aid Manager is to oversee the management and administration of Gift Aid, and other forms of tax-efficient giving, to maximise MSF UK’s income. This includes responsibility for managing the Gift Aid and tax reclaim processes across multiple income streams, ensuring claims are submitted in a timely manner, and that MSF UK remains compliant with HMRC regulations. This role requires a specialist understanding of Gift Aid regulations.

They also act as the main point of contact with HMRC on complex matters relating to Gift Aid and reclaiming tax, providing solutions or advice on more complicated Gift Aid queries to the wider Fundraising team. The Gift Aid Manager will lead on planning and delivering regular Gift Aid communications to supporters.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience in managing end to end Gift Aid claims and processes within the charity sector.
• Strong working knowledge of HMRC Gift Aid regulations, practices and procedures and other relevant HMRC guidelines.
• Knowledge and understanding of Gift Aid compliance in charity environments.
• Experience of working with 3rd parties on Gift Aid claims and processes.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Excel to an intermediate level including the ability to produce and manipulate pivot tables.

The CRM Impact Manager is a specialised role that will focus on developing our use of the Beacon CRM and ensuring it’s used to our best advantage throughout the charity.

About Worldwide Radiology (WWR)

Worldwide Radiology is a registered charity working internationally creating and delivering solutions to enhance access to high quality and appropriate diagnostic imaging tests in low- and middle-income countries. 

We’re a small but busy team, mainly based in the UK, working remotely across several countries and time zones. Our work involves close collaboration with international hospitals, universities, and global health partners, with a team of volunteers delivering most of our projects.  We’re looking for a Programme Manager to develop and drive forward our project portfolio. 

Overview

The Programme Manager role is crucial to the success and development of the charity. You will be responsible for the management and delivery of 6+ Worldwide Radiology projects, operating across Malawi, Ghana and The Gambia.

The Programme Manager will be responsible for quickly grasping the needs of our ongoing programmes, steering them toward desired impact, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, monitoring our impact and managing risks effectively to continue effective delivery across the organisation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for working with key stakeholders, including our volunteers, partners and donors to build and nurture strong working relationships. 

They will contribute to seeking out further grant opportunities within the sector, working closely with the rest of the programmes team and the fundraising team.

The key responsibilities of this post are as follows:

1. Oversee the smooth running of our projects; 

2. Ensure consistent and appropriate monitoring and evaluation;

3. Provide strong, holistic solutions, focused on operational leadership; and

Role-Specific Responsibilities

1. Provide overall day-to-day management for WWR projects and WWR volunteers, reporting directly to the WWR Director.

2. Oversee the development and operational execution of detailed work-plans and budgets for WWR programme activities. 

3. Track all project milestones, risks and reporting schedules, taking timely action to ensure they are addressed.

4. Co-ordinate and deliver project MEAL activities in accordance with our MEAL framework. 

5. Produce (gather, collate and edit) high quality, timely project progress, annual and donor-specific reports.

6. Oversee the management of partnership agreements, data management requirements and contracts in accordance with donor specific and legal requirements.

7. Support the identification and securing of new grant opportunities in collaboration with the programmes and fundraising teams.

8. Communicate administrative and technical information to WWR project partners in a timely, sensitive and effective manner.

9. Assist team members, volunteers, partners and members of the public with queries, demonstrating tact and understanding when dealing with complex and serious issues, delivering a consistently high and appropriate level of service and support to individuals contacting WWR.

10. Assist with recruitment, onboarding, induction and management of both UK and international WWR volunteers.
     

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

• Educated to degree level or equivalent work experience.

• Demonstrable experience of adhering to principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management and administration of programmes and project lifecycles.

In this unique and rewarding role, you'll be the welcoming face of Stella Maris in your region, visiting ships, listening to crew members, and offering practical, pastoral and spiritual support to anyone in need, regardless of faith or background.

About the role

No two days are the same.  You might spend the morning visiting ships and listening to crew members' stories, help someone contact their family back home, support a seafarer in crisis, or offer a quiet moment of prayer on deck.

About this role

We’re looking someone who can support the team to maintain our strong online presence by delivering engaging, creative digital content. This role is about collaborating with colleagues, applying your knowledge of digital platforms, and actively developing your skills to keep pace with emerging trends.

Based in our busy Communications team, you will be responsible for creating compelling and engaging online copy for a range of platforms, as well as managing and growing our social media communities to amplify our brand, working across the organisation, for example:

• Supporting our Philanthropy team to engage donors in our work and through our series of events.
• Helping our Policy team to increase the knowledge of their recommendations for change among opinion formers and decision makers through social media.
• Working directly with the Investment team and our portfolio partners to gather and share their insights and stories.

Day-to-day you might be writing and repurposing blog content for our online channels, working with our Creative Content Officer and Media and Communications Officer producing multi-media content to support our events programme, or using insights and data to keep our digital content relevant and our audiences engaged.

About the Tax Justice Network

The Tax Justice Network (TJN) is an independent international network, launched in 2003. It is dedicated to high-level research, analysis and advocacy around international tax and financial regulation, including the role of tax havens. TJN maps, analyses and explains the harmful impacts of tax evasion, tax avoidance and tax competition; and supports the engagement of citizens, civil society organisations and policymakers with the aim of a more just tax system. The Tax Justice Network operates virtually with its legal base in the UK and staff working from home across multiple countries and continents. 

Role description

The Finance Officer is part of the Organisational Support and Development (OSD) team at the Tax Justice Network, which is led by the Director of OSD, and the role reports to the Head of Finance and Reporting. The OSD team leads and delivers on a range of operational services from finance management, risk management, project management, event management, human resources, IT systems and other enabling functions. The team is also responsible for fundraising for the organization. This includes responding to calls for proposals, tracking funding opportunities and engaging with donors regularly.

The role offers the chance to work across the financial functions and offers an experience through a breadth of finance work across the organisation making it a varied and a well-rounded role. 

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake the day-to-day bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking payroll and general ledger maintenance 

• Ensuring accuracy and integrity of all financial records and keeping a clear audit trail of all financial records 

• Manage the staff payroll process including pension, HMRC and other related processes 

• Manage the periodic payment runs and ensure that all payments are paid on time 

• Supporting financial planning and reporting for project proposals, project reporting and management reports 

• Support with project and year end audits schedules 

• Assist in the preparation of accruals, prepayments and other journals 

• Maintaining fixed asset register 

• Provide guidance to team on internal financial processes and policies and assist with queries and escalating them as necessary

Skills and experience

Essential 

• Holding or working towards a CCAB or CIMA qualification 

• Hands on experience of working in a finance department of charities or not for profit organisations 

• Experience of carrying out detailed reconciliations, and can demonstrate a keen eye for detail and a thorough and methodical approach in all work 

• Strong IT skills with intermediate knowledge of Excel and cloud-based accounting software (preferably Xero) 

• Ability to communicate effectively, accurately and succinctly in English, in writing and verbally 

• Excellent interpersonal skills 

Desirable 

• Experience of producing financial reports for a range of purposes 

• Experience of working with multi-currency transactions and cash holdings 

• Experience of working with EU funded grants
