About the role:
As a Project Worker at our Stacey Street service in Islington, you’ll support adults who have experienced homelessness or rough sleeping to rebuild stability and move towards independent living. This is a hands-on role in a busy hostel environment where no two days are the same.
You’ll work directly with residents who may be navigating challenges linked to mental health, substance use, trauma or contact with the criminal justice system. Through strengths-based support planning and clear risk management, you’ll help individuals identify goals, overcome barriers and take practical steps forward. From supporting someone to engage with treatment, to sustaining a tenancy or accessing training and employment, your work will focus on realistic, sustainable progress.
Day to day, you’ll build trusted relationships whilst maintaining professional boundaries. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external partners to coordinate the right support at the right time, ensuring residents are prepared for successful move-on. You’ll keep accurate records, respond calmly in challenging situations and contribute to a psychologically informed environment where people feel respected and motivated to change.
This role is about creating momentum. By helping residents move from crisis towards stability, you’ll play a key part in freeing up hostel spaces for others in urgent need and strengthening SHP’s mission to end homelessness for good. They will play a key part in strengthening service performance and in ensuring that Woodgreen’s community programmes continue to deliver meaningful impact for both communities and our charity.
If you have;
- A working knowledge of relevant design, improvement, or analytical methods (e.g. service or human-centred design, improvement approaches, behaviour change frameworks, systems mapping, monitoring and evaluation), with the ability to apply or commission their use in practice.
- Significant experience of developing, improving, or adapting services or initiatives involving complex or evolving needs, and using insight, evidence, and feedback to strengthen impact in practice.
- Significant experience of working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including operational teams, communities and partners in order to understand needs, test ideas, and support implementation across different contexts or delivery settings.
- Proven experience in using data, evaluation, and lived experience insight to inform service improvement, shape recommendations, or contribute to programme or model development, including balancing evidence with operational realities.
- An understanding of animal welfare issues, or a willingness to develop relevant knowledge through training and experience.

This is a full time, permanent position working 37.5 hours a week on a hybrid basis with the expectation that our successful candidate will work from our Godmanchester site for approximately 2 days a week dependant on business need. Youth Focus West Midlands (YFWM) is looking for a Regional Development Lead to work as part of the Network of Regional Youth Work Units to build an inclusive and equitable approach to youth voice and youth engagement, ensuring the most marginalised and under-represented young people have their voices heard and acted upon across the UK.
The Development Lead will manage the Amplify funded programme of work across the region. This will include the facilitation of learning networks, peer support groups and peer research approaches, overseeing of project communications and delivering training and support programmes. With experience of working in the mental health field, you will demonstrate a good understanding of the obstacles that can be faced and how to overcome them to reach certain goals. You will be able to empathise with the daily struggles that people face and will have a commitment to user involvement and empowerment. Role Description
To provide holistic support to anyone who has experienced sexual violence and to identify and engage with these individuals on a one-to-one basis, enabling them to access services and make positive, empowering choices.
Responsibilities:
- To provide support to service users who have experienced sexual violence.
- To provide support to the facilitation of group work within the service.
- To provide group work interventions on a 1-2-1 basis where the service user is unable to access groups.
- To lead on providing service users information sessions and informal group activities / events.
- To independently manage a small caseload of adult client cases, providing practical and emotional support.
- To conduct risk assessments, do case management and safety planning in partnership with other key agencies.
- To advocate in a range of settings on behalf of the service user and working towards them being their own best advocate.
- To help service users to make informed choices about their future options.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Essential:
- Experience of direct support work with victims or other vulnerable people including providing emotional and practical support.
- Excellent Caseworker with good assessment, motivational and empowerment skills.
- Organising, prioritising, risk management and problem-solving skills.
- Experience of working cooperatively and effectively in a team.
- Willingness to be able to work flexible hours when necessary and be part of an on-call rota.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including presentation skills.
- PC literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Compassionate towards the individuals the service supports.
- A driving licence and own transport.
- Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to work in diverse settings and with people with diverse needs.
- Good knowledge of a full range of civil, criminal and practical options available to service users.
- Good knowledge of restorative interventions or ability to learn them and make use of them with appropriate service users.
- Knowledge and skills to operate within a trauma informed approach.
- Ability to provide non-judgemental, non-directive and confidential support to service users in crisis.
- A clear understanding of the gendered nature of some crime types, and a clear understanding of how different crime types disproportionately affect different groups of people.

The role provides longer-term, structured support and advocacy, primarily online and by telephone, helping women stabilise, rebuild safety, access services and strengthen resilience.

Key Responsibilities
Intensive Casework Support
- Provide structured 1:1 support to women with complex needs.
- Develop collaborative support plans with clear goals and review points.
- Provide safety planning where risk is identified.
- Support women navigating debt, housing, legal and safeguarding systems.
- Facilitate access to specialist services (mental health, housing, domestic abuse, financial advice, substance misuse, etc.).

Purpose and responsibilities of the post
Reporting to the DARE UK Director, the Deputy Director is a senior strategic leader responsible for shaping and delivering the programme’s next phase of impact.
The post-holder will provide intellectual and operational leadership across the programme, translating strategic ambition into executable plans while ensuring delivery at pace and scale. They will work across research communities, funders, infrastructure providers, technology partners and senior stakeholders across UKRI and government to embed community voice into the design of a UK-wide secure data research ecosystem.

Over many years of working alongside people recently granted refugee status, we have seen how the moment of transition, when someone leaves asylum accommodation and tries to find a home of their own, can significantly impact the opportunity to build a stable life. Too often, people face this period with little support, or relying on friends, volunteers and organisations who want to help but aren't always sure how, especially in such a rapidly changing environment. This role exists to change that.
Through our Refugee Homelessness Prevention Project we want to build on the learning and experience we’ve gained over the last 20 years and increase our impact in local communities across Greater Manchester. We are therefore looking for an experienced trainer who is proactive, well‑organised and able to build strong relationships in local communities.
This is a varied and community‑focused role, suitable for someone who is comfortable facilitating training, enjoys meeting people in a range of settings and is keen to help others feel confident in offering housing‑related guidance.
