We have an exciting opportunity for a Community and Events Manager to join our Fundraising team. This is a fantastic role for an experienced fundraiser who is passionate about developing supporter-led fundraising, delivering exceptional events and building meaningful relationships that help families stay together when they need it most.

Our charity

The Sick Children's Trust is the charity that provides a welcoming 'Home from Home' where families with a sick child in hospital can stay. But we're more than bricks and mortar, our friendly, caring staff are there to support families when they really need it.

Hospital can be a lonely and scary place for anyone, but especially a child. Providing around 3,200 families a year with somewhere to stay together just minutes from the hospital means that they can be by their sick child's side and have one less thing to worry about.

The Role

This is a varied and rewarding fundraising management role, focused on developing and delivering an ambitious community and events fundraising programme that generates sustainable income, increases awareness of our work and builds long-term supporter relationships.

You will lead the development of community fundraising across the UK, supporting and inspiring individuals, families, schools, community groups, volunteers and local businesses to raise funds for the charity. At the same time, you will manage a portfolio of challenge and special events, ensuring excellent supporter experiences and strong financial returns.

You will oversee key events including our Carol Service, Supper Club and Golf Day, while also growing participation in challenge events such as the London Marathon, half marathons, walks, cycling events and other fundraising activities. You will identify new opportunities for growth, diversification and supporter acquisition across both community and events fundraising.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across Fundraising, Communications and Marketing, House Teams and external partners, you will help maximise fundraising income, increase engagement and ensure our supporters receive outstanding stewardship.

You will also lead and develop a small fundraising team, creating a collaborative and high-performing culture while supporting individuals to achieve their objectives and develop their skills.

This role requires a proactive and ambitious fundraiser with strong leadership, relationship-building and project management skills, together with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive income growth.

We're looking for someone who is passionate about community and events fundraising and motivated by creating meaningful opportunities for people to support our work.

You will have a proven track record in community fundraising, events fundraising or a related supporter-led income stream, with experience of building strong relationships and engaging supporters from a wide range of backgrounds.

You will be an excellent communicator and collaborator, equally comfortable inspiring volunteers, supporting families who want to fundraise, representing the charity at events, or working with colleagues to develop new campaigns and initiatives.

You will have experience of leading and developing people, managing projects and budgets, and balancing multiple priorities while maintaining excellent attention to detail.

Purpose

The Direct Fundraising team plays a critical role in acquiring and engaging supporters through face-to-face and telephone fundraising channels, ensuring activity is supporter-centred, compliant and aligned with best practice across the fundraising sector.

Job purpose

Reporting to the Associate Head of Direct Fundraising, the Direct Fundraising Fundraiser will support the delivery, monitoring and optimisation of face-to-face and telephone fundraising activity that recruits and engages supporters across the UK.

The role will work closely with internal teams and external agency partners to ensure campaigns are delivered effectively, compliantly and in line with organisational objectives, while providing an excellent supporter experience and protecting the NSPCC's reputation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Support the planning, delivery and optimisation of face-to-face fundraising campaigns.
• Monitor campaign performance, income and expenditure, providing accurate reporting and insight to support decision making.

Greyhound Rescue Wales (GRW) is Wales’ leading charity dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming greyhounds and lurchers. The Head of Fundraising is a senior leadership role with overall accountability for the strategic development, operational effectiveness and performance of all fundraising activity at Greyhound Rescue Wales (GRW).

The role will drive, lead and grow our fundraising strategy and has responsibility for developing diverse, sustainable income streams and building strong relationships with supporters, partners, and funders.

The role holds end‑to‑end accountability for income delivery across trusts and foundations, community and event fundraising, and sponsorship and individual giving.

The role

At Cruse, our strategy, sets out our charity’s plans to grow our income and build on our expertise and unique position in the sector. We provide expert bereavement and grief information and support, and our charity has been supporting people for over 65 years. We support adults, children and young people across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, through our national services, over 80 local branches and online information about grief and bereavement.

To lead and grow Cruse’s community fundraising and events programme, maximising income from existing activities/events while developing new fundraising opportunities. The postholder will take ownership of event planning and delivery, supporter engagement and volunteer and Branch fundraising coordination, helping to increase unrestricted income. This role is responsible for the planning and delivery of major events such as Cruse walks, whilst also creating new fundraising events for supporters to engage with us. Based in either the South of England or Wales

The Otakar Kraus Music Trust is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Community & Local Business Fundraiser to help us grow support for our work across Richmond and surrounding areas. OKMT uses music therapy and inclusive music projects to improve the lives of over 500 children and adults each year, including people with disabilities, neurological conditions and dementia.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape a new role within a small, friendly charity. You will build relationships with local businesses, schools, clubs and community organisations; develop sponsorship and Charity of the Year opportunities; support fundraising events and individual fundraisers; and help inspire more people across our community to support OKMT. We are looking for a confident, warm and self-motivated relationship-builder with experience of fundraising, business development or a related field and a track record of generating income.

Key Responsibilities

Community Fundraising

• Build relationships with local schools, clubs and organisations to generate event participation and donations.
• Develop with the Director and Fundraising Manager a case for support and accompanying materials to pitch to potential community or local businesses.
• Organise events with community or business partners and support OKMT’s own fundraising events including our triennial Music Marathon, walks and seasonal appeals.
• Recruit, brief and steward individual fundraisers taking on challenges (runs, rides, marathons, swims, etc.) and community supporters running their own events on OKMT's behalf.
• Assist the Fundraising Manager in growing individual giving initiatives as necessary.
• Support the OKMT team to pitch for Richmond May Ball and other major appeals and lead the process if selected.
• Manage supporter journeys including thank-you communications and impact updates in conjunction with the team.

Local Business Fundraising

• Identify and approach local businesses across Richmond, Twickenham, Teddington, Hampton, Barnes and surrounding areas with tailored propositions for Charity of the Year, sponsorship endorsement and ongoing support.
• Account-manage business supporters through relationship building, regular updates, site visits, networking events and clear reporting on impact.
• Represent OKMT at local business networking events, Chamber of Commerce gatherings and Richmond Business Awards activity to raise the charity's profile.
• Explore opportunities for volunteering and develop a value exchange.

Shared / Cross-Cutting Responsibilities

• Quarterly income and activity targets will be agreed with the Director within the first four weeks, reviewed formally at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months, with results reported to the Board.
• Maintain accurate records of supporters, prospects and income, and ensure compliance with GDPR and Fundraising Regulator standards.
• Collaborate with the team to capture stories, case studies and consented imagery that bring our impact to life for donors.
• Contribute to OKMT’s social media, e-newsletter and website content where it supports fundraising.

The Community & Events Fundraising Team help us achieve our goal of raising significant funds for our human rights work. The Events Fundraiser is accountable for our key challenge event portfolio including flagship events such as the London Marathon and the Oysho Royal Parks Half Marathon.
