Job description
About The Role

As Front of House Team Leader at the National Memorial Arboretum, you’ll be at the centre of a busy and varied hospitality operation, supporting the day-to-day running Aspects, Award winning events and functions facility, as well as supporting the Arboreretum’s restaurant, coffee shop, and visitor catering outlets. This is a hands on management role where you’ll lead by example on shift, keep service standards high and make sure visitors receive a welcoming, efficient and well-run experience every time they visit.

Come and be part of the leading Armed Forces charity, making a difference to the lives of those who have served to keep us safe and protect our way of life.

We’re looking for someone with proven experience in hospitality or food service supervision who can confidently manage busy services, support and motivate staff, and keep operations running smoothly behind the scenes. You’ll be organised, proactive and comfortable dealing with everything from customer queries and stock control to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and food safety across multiple outlets.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys fast-paced hospitality, large-scale events and leading a team in a unique environment. You’ll work directly in the Events team and closely work with the Food Service management team, gain exposure to a wide range of catering operations and play an important part in delivering high-quality service across one of the UK’s most visited destinations.

This role is fully site based at the National Memorial Arboretum, Croxall Road, Alrewas, Staffordshire, DE13 7AR. Due to the nature of the operation, the successful candidate will work any 5 days from 7, including weekends and evenings as required.

Employee benefits include -

- 28 day’s paid holiday (plus bank holidays) increasing with service, with optional annual leave purchase scheme of up to 5 working days
- Enhanced paid maternity, paternity and adoption leave
- Generous pension contributions, with Employer contributions ranging from 6% to 10%
- Range of flexible working options may be available, depending on your role
- Employee Assistance Programme providing confidential counselling, financial and legal advice
- Range of courses delivered by learning specialists to support your development goals and objectives
- Opportunities to volunteer
- Travel loans, Cycle to Work, and more!

For more detailed information about the role, please see the Job Description attached to our direct advert. Our teams take a personalised approach to shortlisting, which is carried out without the use of AI and is based on the evidence provided in your application against the essential and desirable criteria in the Person Specification.

RBL is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive organisation, reflecting the diversity of the armed forces community and of wider society. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and personal characteristics.

As part of our commitment to inclusion, we offer guaranteed interview schemes for candidates who declare an Armed Forces connection and/or a disability. However, candidates are only eligible for this scheme if their application clearly demonstrates that they meet all of the essential criteria listed in the Person Specification for the role.

Interview Dates:        Tuesday 21 & Wednesday 22 July 2026

We may close this vacancy early if we believe we have enough strong applications to be able to successfully fill the role(s). Interested candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
