As an interim Supervising Solicitor in Public Law, you will supervise and carry out CPAG’s public law legal aid cases, to benefit families and children in poverty. You will play an active role in managing CPAG’s legal practice and conduct high-profile public law litigation.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about using the law to advocate for the rights of, and directly improve the lives of, families in poverty. The ideal candidate will be a solicitor (E&W qualified) with experience of conducting public law litigation and legal aid (publicly funded) work. You will be able to supervise the casework of colleagues, such as CPAG’s junior or trainee solicitor(s) and welfare benefit advisers. You may have experience of working with clients in vulnerable situations or with additional needs, for example, survivors of domestic abuse, refugees, disabled people or children and young people.

We’re looking for a flexible, adaptable and creative Funding expert to join our talented team of Development Managers, supporting local organisations and residents and helping the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector to grow and thrive.
You will be engaging directly with frontline voluntary and community groups, providing fundraising advice, bid-writing support, bid reviews, funding searches and signposting, and training. You will also develop partnerships with other local agencies to better support the local voluntary sector and influence funders, and identify local funding development needs to help inform our training programme for voluntary groups.
You’ll bring experience in developing fundraising strategies within the VCFSE sector, an understanding of the governance issues that could be barriers to successful funding applications and how to overcome them, and knowledge of funder priorities that groups should be aware of.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll be joining our People Team, a collaborative and supportive group working closely with leaders and managers across Transform. As our People Advisor – Employee Relations, you’ll act as a trusted partner, providing practical, balanced advice that supports timely, fair and consistent outcomes.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll manage a varied ER caseload while also helping to build manager confidence and capability, using insight and data to drive continuous improvement.
A little more about your day as a People Advisor – Employee Relations:
• Managing a diverse employee relations caseload, including conduct, capability, grievance, attendance, probation and wellbeing matters.
• Coaching and advising managers, helping them understand risks, options and best practice so they can make confident, values-led decisions.
• Supporting and, where appropriate, leading complex or sensitive investigations in partnership with the People Manager.
• Producing high-quality documentation, reports and formal correspondence, ensuring accuracy, consistency and confidentiality at all times.
• Using people data and trends to identify emerging risks, inform decision-making and support proactive interventions.
• It’s an exciting time to join the People Team as you’ll also be involved in developing manager capability, improving employee relations processes strengthening our culture and colleague experience.
What you’ll need
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• Proven experience managing a broad range of employee relations casework.
• Strong working knowledge of employment law and confidence applying it in practice.
• Experience coaching and supporting managers to address people issues early and effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
