The role

As Director of Operations, you will be a key member of the senior leadership team, working closely with the CEO and Board to translate strategy into high-quality, sustainable delivery with exciting future developments ahead.

You will provide strategic and operational leadership across 7 care homes and 3 housing communities in the south of England, leading and supporting a talented operations team to deliver safe, effective and person-centred services.

About you

We are looking for a values-led, strategic and credible leader who brings:

• Senior leadership experience within social care, housing, homelessness or a closely related sector
• A proven track record of leading multi-site services and managing senior operational leaders
• Strong experience of working within regulated environments and delivering high-quality, compliant services
• Sound financial and commercial awareness, with experience of managing budgets and resources  of a similar scale to Keychange (250 staff across 10 sites)

About the role

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is responding to the largest emergency in our 40+ year history. Over the last two years support for our cause has seen significant growth in income as tens of thousands of supporters have joined MAP, including individuals, trusts, foundations and corporates. Our challenge now is to retain this interest and ensure we sustain income as we respond to the ongoing emergency and the longer-term health of Palestinians over the coming years. With an ambition to be a £50m organisation by 2028, the supporter operations and insights team will play a vital role in enabling over one million Palestinians to access improved healthcare annually by 2028.

We’re looking for a strategic and people‑focused leader to head up our Supporter Operations and Insights team. A newly expanded team, this senior role will ensure our supporters receive an outstanding experience, while overseeing supporter operations, supplier management, data quality and insights. You’ll work closely with Fundraising and Finance colleagues to ensure income is processed accurately; deliver insights that drive decision‑making; and ensure operations are compliant and effective.

Many of our systems and processes are on a journey to be made fit for purpose, including a new CRM (MS Dynamics) which is currently being implemented with the support of the Digital, Data and Technology team within the Chief Operating Officer’s team.

What is the role about?
This role leads the teams that look after our supporters behind the scenes and on the front line. You’ll make sure every supporter has a positive experience, that donations are handled accurately, and that we use data and insight to continuously improve how we work.

What will you be responsible for?
You’ll lead supporter care, operations and the performance and insights teams, manage key suppliers, work closely with Finance on income reconciliation, and turn data into insight that shapes fundraising decisions. You won’t manage the CRM system itself, but you’ll work closely with the CRM Technical lead and Head of Data and Insights to ensure supporter needs are met as we continue to embed a new CRM.

MediCinema is a UK-registered charity dedicated to providing cinema experiences inside hospitals to support the emotional, physical and mental health of NHS patients, their families, and carers. For 25 years, we have brought the power of cinema to hospitals, and in recognition of our impact, MediCinema was honoured with BAFTA’s Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema Award at the 2025 EE BAFTA Film Awards.

We build and run fully accessible cinemas within hospitals, screening the latest films at no cost to patients or the NHS. The Role

Reporting to the CEO, this new senior leadership role is central to ensuring MediCinema’s financial sustainability, operational excellence, and people-centred culture. The Director will lead the charity’s finance, HR, and business operational functions, ensuring robust systems, compliance, and strategic alignment with our mission.

This is a hands-on role for a values-driven leader who thrives in a collaborative, purpose-led environment and is passionate about improving patient experiences through innovative service delivery.

This role will be managing external HR and IT consultants and supported by a part time (1 day per week) assistant.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Strategy

· Participate in strategic and business planning processes, supporting the CEO and trustees to develop the strategic plan

· Serve as a key member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) contributing to the strategic direction and day to day management of the organisation.

Finance

· Lead the finance function, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, management accounts, and statutory reporting.

· Ensure robust financial controls and compliance with regulatory requirements.

· Manage cashflow, reserves, and risk, supporting strategic financial planning.

· Lead on financial reporting to the Board and relevant committees.

· Oversee payroll, pensions, and financial administration.

· Managing the annual audit process and liaising with auditors

· Liaising with tax specialists on VAT, corporation tax and other matters as required.

· Liaising with the Treasurer on all key financial matters on a quarterly basis

Business Operations

· Ensure efficient delivery of office services and a safe, well-maintained working environment.

· Lead on the IT systems and digital strategy ensuring platforms are secure and support business needs

· Work with the external IT consultant to maintain and evolve the infrastructure, systems and processes in place to align with business needs and industry regulation

· Keep abreast of changes and updates to Data Protection legislation and ensure that staff receive regular training on Data Protection and Cyber security

· Manage contracts, suppliers, and internal processes to ensure value and efficiency.

· Support the commissioning of new MediCinema sites, including project planning and stakeholder engagement.

· Lead on the annual insurance renewal process

HR and People Development

· Lead on strategic workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and talent retention.

· Embed inclusive HR policies and practices aligned with MediCinema’s values.

· Provide support and evolve processes to strengthen employee relations, performance management, and wellbeing.

· Support line managers in developing high-performing, motivated teams.

· Ensure compliance with employment law and HR best practice.

· Work with the external HR consultant on HR admin,including due diligence, onboarding and recruitment.

Governance and Compliance

· Maintain up-to-date policies and procedures across finance, HR, and operations.

· Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and safeguarding requirements.

· Support the CEO and Board with governance processes, reporting, and policy development.

The Person

Experience and Background

We are seeking a strategic leader with experience across finance, operations, and HR — ideally within the UK charity or public health sector. You may have worked in healthcare, education, or social impact organisations, and bring a strong understanding of compliance, governance, and people leadership. Candidates with a relevant background in SMEs may be considered, but will need to demonstrate a commitment to quickly developing the specialist knowledge required by charity regulations and an aptitude for operating within the third sector.

You will be comfortable working in a hands-on, collaborative environment, with a deep respect for MediCinema’s mission and values.

Skills and Qualifications

· Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or AAT)

· Strong understanding of HR, IT, risk management, and governance in small teams

· Proven experience managing budgets, audits, and accounts (Quickbooks experience ideal)

· Excellent project management and strategic planning skills

· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and mentor others

· A proactive, organised, and solutions-focused approach

Freeways is a highly regarded provider offering a range of social care support services and Freeways Trust owns and manages a portfolio of properties which support the work of Freeways. The Role

Freeways is looking to recruit a Head of Finance who will   manage a small finance team.

This role is responsible for preparing the monthly management accounts and associated report for both charities: providing high quality financial insight, analysis and advice to support informed decision making.

Location: The contract for the role is London-based – it means that while you can be working anywhere in the UK, you are responsible for the cost of your travel to the London-based office. On a regular basis we ask everyone to be in the office once a month for team day and every other month for Finance and Resources Team Day. Other meetings will happen that will also require in-person presence, but we can’t specify now how frequent they might be.

Your insight into income, cost and performance will directly influence how we invest, grow and maximise our fundraising potential.

Working with fellow directors, you will help steward the organisation as a whole, ensuring War Child UK remains resilient, ambitious and ready to meet the scale of the need we exist to address.

You will be a qualified accountant with significant strategic and operational experience. Wiltshire Music Centre is looking for a Head of Finance to drive financial strategy, ensure robust financial management, and provide clear insight to support decision-making across all areas of activity of our music and education venue. This role sits on our Senior Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Management & Reporting

• Lead preparation of management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and variance analysis
• Produce quarterly finance reports and manage month end processes and reports
• Oversee preparation of the annual statutory accounts and audit
• Maintain a clear reserves policy and monitor cash flow
• Administer finances raised through fundraising campaigns, donations, sponsorship and grants, and claim back Gift Aid from HMRC
• Prepare and process VAT returns, handling partial exemption when applicable
• Be the first point of contact for any HMRC query

2. Budgeting & Strategy

• Coordinate the annual budgeting process across departments
• Provide financial modelling and analysis for strategic planning and fundraising bids
• Support the Executive Director and trustees in scenario planning and long-term forecasting
• Advise on risk management and internal controls

3. Operations & Systems

• Oversee day-to-day finance operations (invoicing, payments, payroll, expenses, reconciliations)
• Maintain accurate event and project accounts, reconciling Box Office data to financial systems
• Ensure efficient provision and use of merchant services and card payment solutions
• Manage and improve financial systems e.g. Sage
• Work closely with Executive Director to track restricted and unrestricted funds

4. Governance & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with the Charities Act, Companies Act, and funder requirements
• Prepare data and documents as required for reporting to key funders
• Prepare finance reports and dashboards for board meetings
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and the Charity Commission
• Support the Treasurer and Finance & Resource Committee and attend board meetings as required

• Work collaboratively to identify strategic opportunities for growth

Job Requirements

Ideal Candidate Profile

Essential

• Professional qualification (or part-qualified) such as ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CIPFA, or equivalent
• Strong financial and accounting experience within a Finance Department covering all relevant functions
• Excellent budgeting, forecasting, and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of Charity SORP and statutory charitable reporting and accounts preparation.
• Technical knowledge of tax matters (VAT and PAYE).
• Experience of managing VAT and gift aid for a charity.
• Experience with Sage or another cloud-based accounting platform.
• High attention to detail and ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues

Desirable

• Experience with arts, education, or cultural sector charities.
• Experience working with fundraising and grant-making bodies, including an understanding of restricted funds, grant management and project reporting

The Fixery Workshop Officer supports the daily operations of the Fixery and supporting in its promotion and development. You will be helping to deliver a welcoming, community-centred service that promotes repair, reuse and waste reduction. The role involves working alongside volunteers and community members to create an inviting space where people want to spend time, while enabling residents to access circular activities through managing the Fixery stalls and ensuring a smooth running of the hub’s operations.
