You will manage a busy programme of work, contribute to projects from start to successful completion, and work collaboratively with colleagues, members and stakeholders across the Faculty. We are looking for someone with excellent administrative skills who can manage a range of activities, develop new ideas to improve the way we work, and actively contribute to the wider work of the Faculty.

The Role

3. Develop a corporate volunteering opportunities deck, ready to share with prospective and current partners.

As Homeless Pathway Coordinator, you’ll be a consistent and trusted presence for patients experiencing homelessness, helping them navigate what can feel like an overwhelming mix of health, housing and support systems. You’ll spend time with patients on wards and in A&E, listening to what matters to them, understanding the barriers they face and making sure their voice remains at the heart of every decision.

Day to day, you’ll manage a caseload, complete assessments, develop clear discharge and support plans and make referrals to housing, healthcare, social care, mental health and substance use services. You’ll follow up actions, keep plans moving and advocate firmly when someone is at risk of being discharged without the right accommodation or support in place.

You’ll work closely with the Homeless Pathway Lead, hospital teams, Newham Council and SHP’s wider Health Team, bringing professionals together and helping everyone stay focused on the person behind the case. You’ll also build links with community services, identify gaps in existing pathways and share learning that helps the hospital respond more effectively to people experiencing homelessness.

This is a role where strong relationships can change the course of someone’s recovery. You’ll join an experienced and supportive team, with opportunities to deepen your knowledge of inclusion health, homelessness and psychologically informed practice through training, reflective practice and shared learning.

• You have experience supporting people experiencing homelessness, multiple disadvantage or significant barriers to accessing services.
• You know how to build trust with people who may feel let down by services, keeping their voice and choices at the centre of your work.

About the role

We are looking for a passionate and inspirational individual to lead our Patient Support service across Scotland & Northern Ireland. You and your team will reach kidney patients at their point of need and ensure they are supported or signposted to the services that will improve their wellbeing and maximise outcomes in line with the objectives of the service as directed by the Programme Manager/Head of Service. 

Alongside our other Regional Managers, you will be the national face of Kidney Care UK patient support services, raising awareness of the service and the Charity and building strong relationships with the kidney patients, renal units, Kidney Patient Associations (KPAs), health professionals and other kidney stakeholder groups in your regions. 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of five Patient Support Officer’s to deliver an accessible, valued and effective service across your designated region. Responsibility for the training, development and wellbeing of the regional team. 
• Lead the delivery of Kidney Care UK service and funder required outcomes into service delivery aligned with the Kidney Care Patient Support service strategy.
• Through in-person attendance at stakeholder events and meetings, build strong relationships with key decision makers and influencers in health and care commissioning and delivery in your region.
• Develop and maintain effective monitoring and measurement to demonstrate the outputs and effectiveness of the service and its impact on patient experience and outcomes. 
• Using data and insight, report internally and externally with updates on regional issues, needs and challenges to inform service development.
• Manage the budget designated for your region, keeping accurate records of expenditure and reporting.
• Act as an organisational Designated Safeguarding Person in accordance with policy and procedures.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

• Understanding of the workings of NHS patient care pathways.
• Experience of delivering patient support services in a kidney or related health condition environment.
• Understanding of kidney disease and the needs of people with kidney disease, their families and their carers.

• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to listen, with experience in building credibility with senior external stakeholders and managing relationships with diplomacy.

To help us deliver our strategic aims, we are looking for a person with lived experience of Parkinson’s to take on the role of UK Parkinson's Audit - National Project Clinical Lead on a consultancy basis. 

In this role, you’ll:

• Inspire, challenge and collaborate with the health and social care professional community to drive significant improvements to Parkinson’s services.

• Provide clinical expertise and input on a distinct project with a service improvement focus related to the UK Parkinson’s Audit.

• Act as an ambassador for the Excellence Network. 

• Join relevant governance groups, including the UK Parkinson’s Audit Governance Board. 

What you’ll bring:

• Be a UK-based clinical healthcare professional, working in Parkinson’s or with extensive interest and expertise in the condition, with exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills. Healthcare professionals living with Parkinson’s are also encouraged to apply.

This role is for our Community Health Champions Programme (CHC). The programme is led by and for City & Hackney’s diverse communities. Community Health Champions (Champions) empower residents to become aware of, take ownership and work towards more positive health and wellbeing outcomes.

This is achieved by the programme sourcing, recruiting, training and supporting a diverse cohort of Champions who live, work, volunteer or study within City & Hackney. Our vast network of 230+ Champions who amongst them speak 40+ languages, are instrumental in tailoring and sharing vital health messaging with residents and feeding back insights, concerns and questions which are then used to develop more bespoke, relevant and culturally nuanced health messaging. Champions, with support from the programme, give voice to communities with varying levels of health literacy: how residents access, assess, and engage with healthcare information, services and systems.

The programme was launched during the Covid-19 pandemic but has now expanded to focus on wider health issues and wider determinants of health such as mental health and wellbeing, long term conditions, diet and nutrition.

Purpose of the Role

The Communications and Engagement Officer will lead on programme communications, coordinating and delivering the day-to-day communications that power the Community Health Champion CHC) programme. The primary goal of this role is to equip Champions with accessible, inclusive, high-quality communications content, tools and resources enabling them to effectively engage in the programme whilst building trust and improving health literacy across City & Hackney.

• Work closely with the Communications and Marketing teams to develop recruitment, engagement and fundraising campaigns.
• Ensure all fundraising activities comply with relevant fundraising regulations, health and safety requirements and GDPR.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on fundraising performance, identifying trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Keep informed of community fundraising trends and best practice, bringing fresh ideas and innovation to the programme.

About You

We are looking for a passionate, dedicated individual who will bring the following:

• A minimum of two years’ experience in a community fundraising or events role, with a proven ability to deliver successful programmes of work.
• Proven experience in organising events, using creativity and strategy to maximise participation and revenue.
• Excellent project management skills – you can juggle multiple projects and deadlines with ease.
• A creative flair for spotting opportunities, developing ideas and executing them flawlessly.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills – you know how to build lasting relationships.
• A passionate, energetic, and self-motivated approach to delivering excellent supporter experiences.
• Experience of managing budgets and suppliers to ensure smooth event delivery.
• An eye for detail and a knack for problem-solving, keeping events running seamlessly.

Though not essential, the following skills and experience would be advantageous:

• Experience with Beacon or other fundraising databases.
• Knowledge of fundraising regulations and data protection.
• Understanding of long-term or chronic health conditions.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with research experience to work within a team of experts in research strategy development, research delivery and research policy, to communicate the outputs of our research funding to diverse stakeholders across the charity.  

About the role

You will work within a dynamic and friendly team to help support our Research Programme Managers to develop and manage the Arthritis UK research portfolio. This will include collating and monitoring data from diverse sources to help provide oversight of our funded research. You will also work closely with other colleagues to translate our research outputs into a format that is clear and impactful to help teams across the charity achieve their strategic objectives. 

You will work across a diverse range of projects and will liaise with a wide range of teams from across the charity to help us to tell the story of our research investment. 

About you

If your knowledge, skills and experience include the following then we’d love to hear from you:

• A scientific degree or equivalent level of experience in medical research via the charity, commercial, health, higher education or publishing sectors. 
• High-quality verbal and written communication skills including being able to communicate complex information and requirements to a wide range of audiences and stakeholders. 
• A flexible and collaborative approach: able to work closely and adaptively with immediate team and collaboratively across the organisation. 
• Good information technology skills, including effective database/PubMed/internet search techniques and significant experience of using Microsoft Office Packages. 
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines independently, including rapid turnaround requests. 
• Experience in a medical research environment. 
• Knowledge or experience of the research application, award and monitoring process

This is an exciting opportunity for a new Chief Executive Officer to lead our well-respected rare disease patient organisation through the next phase of growth and impact, in particular focussing on financial sustainability and influencing health policy for these rare diseases.These sit alongside the other grass-roots duties of a small charity CEO, including working with our Medical Advisory Team to develop new and maintain existing patient education resources, and overseeing our support services including volunteers and a professional psychological counselling service. Reporting to and working with the Board of Trustees, the CEO will be responsible for delivering our 2027-2030 Strategic Plan, ensuring robust governance, and driving forward our mission to improve the lives of people affected by rare diseases.The CEO manages the part-time Executive Administrator and works with up to 30 current volunteers (patients, carers, and health professionals) to deliver services with impact.This role includes occasional weekend work, as well as approximately 15 days travel (national and international) per year to represent and advocate for the charities’ beneficiaries.
