At St Richard’s Hospice, we’re launching an exciting new high-value donor programme and are looking for an ambitious Philanthropy Manager to lead its development. This newly created role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact by cultivating and stewarding relationships with major donors, helping to secure the funding that enables us to provide outstanding hospice care to our community.

Working closely with the Director of Business and Income Generation, you will develop and deliver a new major donor strategy, building long-term relationships with high-net-worth individuals and key influencers. As Development Officer (Income Maximisation in Schools) you will play a lead role in looking at the actions needed at different levels to sustainably embed advice in schools across Scotland. Job Purpose

Sequence ME & Long Covid is one of the most ambitious whole-genome sequencing studies ever undertaken into ME and Long Covid, co-led by Action for ME. Building on the success of DecodeME, this proposed £20 million study will use large-scale, long-read whole-genome sequencing to analyse the entire genetic code of 9,000 people with ME and 9,000 people with Long Covid - making it the world's largest 'long-read' whole-genome sequencing study of any disease.

Current funding supports project mobilisation, partnership development, and the development of the Long Covid arm of the study, including agreeing case definitions and gathering expressions of interest from people with Long Covid. Phase 2 has recently been confirmed, backed by £4.75m from the UK government and a further £174,414 from the WE&ME Foundation, and will focus on sequencing 6,000 ME/CFS samples previously collected through DecodeME using Oxford Nanopore's long-read sequencing technology, running alongside Phase 1.

You will play a pivotal role supporting the Sequence ME & Long Covid project in several different ways. Working closely with the project's management team and other team members, you will help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of this landmark study, providing administrative support to the various people and partners involved in delivering it.

As a self-starter, you will manage a range of tasks including meeting scheduling, taking meeting minutes, preparing governance documents, event administration, and broader project support - no two days will be the same.

You will need to maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times, particularly when supporting governance meetings and handling sensitive project documentation.

As a team player, you will provide comprehensive, confidential and organised administrative support, developing a deep understanding of the project and building strong, effective working relationships with colleagues, researchers and external partners.

Remote working at home can be challenging for some and works incredibly well for others. You will need to be able to work independently, use your own initiative, and remain proactive in maintaining good levels of communication with colleagues.

Key Duties

• Help monitor inboxes and respond to routine project enquiries in a timely and sensitive manner, escalating more complex matters as appropriate
• Assist the project's management team and other team members with meeting scheduling and diary coordination
• Take accurate minutes at project, management and other project-related meetings, and follow up and track resulting actions to completion
• Prepare, format and proof-read governance documents and papers
• Maintain and update project databases including the Teams channel, ensuring documents are saved correctly, other management information/recording systems to ensure accurate and timely record-keeping. Help with the tracking of expressions of interest from potential study participants.
• Provide administrative support for project events - from planning and logistics through to on-the-day support

We currently receive significant unsolicited income from our brilliant supporters, but there is a key opportunity to take a more proactive approach to recruiting new community fundraisers, improving their supporter experience and testing new offerings & products. You will work with the team to create and deliver a plan for this new proactive approach and will lead on day-to-day relationship management with fundraisers.

You will also lead the project management and delivery of some community-focused fundraising events. For example,our annual Snowdonia for Science event or testing new PCR-owned products which work for a community fundraising audience. We currently expect the split of time to be roughly 75% on community fundraising and 25% on events, but the two areas will be closely connected, and this split may change over time. We are excited to work with you to develop the direction of this role as the team and portfolio grows.

You will report to the Head of Events & Community and work closely with the whole team, as well as colleagues across PCR. Most of the Events team try to work together once a week when possible at our London office (Chancery Lane) but we have flexible working arrangements, so you can choose to be office based or hybrid. You would be needed to travel to regular supporter events across the UK (many of which are currently in the London/ SE England area) and to some team days in London on an ad-hoc basis. 

Key Responsibilities

At PCR, we make team members’ development a key priority and there is always a % of time available to collaborate more widely for your development and interest. However, your main focus will initially be:

Project management and income growth

• Create and lead a plan to implement a proactive community fundraising portfolio, identifying new approaches to test and audiences to target which build towards a long-term sustainable income stream, ensuring alignment with the Public Fundraising strategy.
• Design and deliver ambitious fundraising budgets for your area which contribute net income towards PCR’s mission.
• Lead the project management and delivery of the community fundraising and events activities you are responsible for.
• This will include monitoring objectives, budgets and the bigger picture to ensure opportunities are seized & risks are minimised.
• Carry out supporter data and income processing tasks as required, including on the CRM and other internal systems.
• Work with the team to create and deliver effective marketing plans which meet recruitment targets.
• Analyse results based on KPIs & supporter feedback, proactively implementing changes & improvements.
• Ensure your fundraising activities are delivered in line with fundraising law & regulations, and with PCR’s policies.

Stewardship and relationship management

• Lead on the delivery of a great supporter experience for community fundraisers in line with our Public Fundraising manifesto, motivating fundraisers to raise more and remain loyal supporters of PCR.
• Interact with supporters via a range of communication channels and in-person, attending events and presenting about PCR’s work when required. This will include travel, for which TOIL will be given and reasonable expenses covered.
• Lead on relationship management for your area, spotting potential for fundraisers to have a greater impact with PCR as a whole, and working with colleagues in Philanthropy, Partnerships, Patient Projects & across the organisation to achieve this.
• Carry out stewardship tasks using tools like Mailchimp, GivePanel and JustGiving, for which training will be provided.
• Oversee stock management via our fulfilment house and ensure we have high-quality fundraising merchandise.

Product development and innovation

• Seize new opportunities for products, journeys or events which would engage a community fundraising audience, taking a test & learn approach. For this, there will be realistic budgets & an understanding of the investment needed for new ideas.
• Stay up to date with sector trends and maintain a strong understanding of PCR’s existing (and target) supporters to create and implement products and experiences that motivate and inspire.
• Use feedback and data to spot opportunities for the constant improvement of fundraisers’ experience with PCR.
• Work to engage supporters beyond their initial activity, testing ongoing journeys and maximising their life-time value for PCR.

Teamwork

• Alongside line managers within the team, help to oversee the relevant day-to-day work of the Supporter Engagement Officer/ Assistants who are supporting your activities, to ensure effective delivery and collaboration.
• Contribute to team strategy and capacity planning.
• Work with the team to embed our agile ways of working, modelling the principle of collective responsibility.
• Contribute to the improvement of relevant processes & infrastructure to ensure efficiency, compliance & best practice.
• Attend and actively contribute to meetings, sharing new ideas and learnings that might be useful for the wider team.
• Model PCR’s organisational values: innovation, collaboration, accountability & empathy (championing the patient voice).

The Community Fundraising & Events Manager may also get involved with other work to support Public Fundraising activities as appropriate. Attendance will be required at weekend and evening events, for which TOIL will be given.

In the brand-new role of team leader, you will take on the responsibility ofproviding structured line management to our existing advice service. Supporting our four skilled and experienced part-time advice workers, while also expanding the service.

You will coordinate and deliver advice and information to new and existing groups including our own Older People’s Lunch Clubs.

Establish new satellite provision, delivering finance workshops, and drop-in services, and providing additional delivery capacity.

Ensure our Advice and Information team keep up to date with changes to legislation and support mechanisms so that they are empowered to support people in a holistic way. This will include signposting service users to the most appropriate support both internally, to other parts of our service, and to other external support.

You will lead on our efforts to gain the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) to ensure our service is of the highest professional standard.

You will represent ICCM on relevant panels and network groups across Greater Manchester. This ensures our service is connected to the wider support landscape and integrated with city and region-wide initiatives.

You will be expected to take on a limited caseload of one-to-one appointments providing advice and information to people.

Between drop-in, group sessions and one-to-one case load it is expected that you will work based on approximately 2 days per week being direct delivery. This is once the role has been fully established.

· Provide oversight of the referral and booking system and the Case Management System to ensure all client activity is recorded. Working with the Administrator and other staff to ensure the smooth delivery of services.

· Review and enhance the outcomes monitoring system for the service. Ensuring good data collection and reporting internally and for funders.

Job Purpose: To lead the Oasis Community Housing Domestic Abuse Team in Gateshead; providing accessible, community-based, trauma-informed support for women and girls aged 16 and over experiencing domestic abuse. The service operates from a women’s only space, and provides both one to one and group support interventions, including peer support. The Project Team Leader will hold responsibility for line management of the Service Team, for Safeguarding, Health and Safety, the delivery of holistic support provision to those in receipt of the support service, and monitoring and oversight of the provision. An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Medair UK team as we are seeking a part-time Head of Operations. The post holder will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of Medair UK's finance, HR, IT and governance functions, ensuring robust systems, effective controls, and compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. They will support the Medair UK Director and Board of Trustees to ensure effective governance and management of the charity in accordance with best practice and ensure a sustainable operational platform is in place to support all Medair UK’s functions. Workplace:Medair UK office is based in Kennington, London. There is possibility to adopt hybrid working, but with a minimum of 2 days/wk in the office.
