We have an exciting opportunity for two Events Fundraisers to join our team at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.

Shooting Star Children’s Hospices provides specialist care and support to families who have a baby, child or young person with a life-limiting condition, or who have been bereaved. Rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission, we support families across Surrey, north-west London and south-west London from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our events team, working across a wide portfolio of events including the Royal Parks Half Marathon, Action Challenge Series and a growing Choose your own Challenge programme.

About the role

As an Events Fundraiser you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of third-party challenge events, delivering marketing plans to boost participation and creating first-class stewardship journeys. You’ll be data driven, using insights and sector trends to inform improvements and highlight opportunities to grow our challenge events portfolio.

You will attend key events as required to support with on-the-day logistics and volunteer management. Please note, due to the nature of our work you will be required to attend some events and meetings which can be during weekends, early mornings or evenings.

About you

With fundraising and events experience, you will be motivated and organised individual who communicates confidently across a range of channels both internally and with external stakeholders.

You’ll be skilled in building strong relationships and creating excellent fundraiser experiences. When working under pressure, you’ll remain calm and focused to deliver results in a positive and solution-focused manner.

You will be working as part of the Marketing Team at animal welfare charity, Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS), helping to raise awareness of the charities work, which in turn will mean more animals receive life-saving veterinary care.

As our new Social Media Executive, you will take the lead on communication through our social media platforms for both WVS, and for our Mission Rabies project, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube. You will work closely with our Senior Marketing Executive to create content tailored for each channel to ensure high levels of engagement, and audience growth.

This is a new role and offers a great opportunity for the right candidate. There is some flexibility for working at home, but the role will require 1-2 days a week at the Head Office in Cranborne, Dorset.

About Us

At Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) we champion animal welfare around the world. We send vets where they are needed most, provide expert veterinary training in hard-to-reach places, and ship urgent aid supplies worldwide, every day of the year.

We deploy teams of vets and vet nurses, send equipment and supplies to help struggling organisations on the front line of animal welfare, and train vets at our international training centres in India, Thailand, Malawi, Cambodia, and the Galápagos Islands.  We also work on strategic one health projects such as rabies elimination campaigns with Governments and NGOs all over the world. Our Mission Rabies project runs mass canine vaccination and community education in the world’s worst hotspots for the disease. Since the project began, over seven million dogs have been vaccinated against rabies and over thirteen million children have been educated in rabies prevention, protecting the lives of people and animals.

Last year, WVS helped an animal every 14 seconds. We trained over 4,800 vets, deployed teams of vets all over the world, and sent over 1,700 parcels of veterinary supplies to 261 charities in 71 countries.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Work with the wider WVS team to produce engaging and informative content for social media, including producing day to day content plans and supporting on campaigns.
• Create content that is tailored for maximum engagement on each platform and analyse engagement data to provide insights and continuously improve our communications.
• Work with the Senior Marketing Executive on audience growth campaigns as part of the wider marketing strategy.
• Manage the social media accounts on a day to day basis, including responding to comments and messages.
• Identify and liaise with influencers, brand ambassadors, and collaborators.
• Support our international teams with social media content and guidance.
• Support the wider marketing team with campaigns and activity.
• Some evening and weekend working, to include travel, will likely be required.

Essential Skills & Experience

• 2+ years working in a marketing role with a focus on social media    Experience in developing content for social media and responding to queries.
• Basic knowledge of video editing

Leasehold and Communal Surveyor

Salary £40,750

Location Hybrid - weekly presence required in Milton Keynes, Peterborough, Rushden or Boston office

As a Leasehold & Communal Surveyor, you’ll deliver high‑quality surveys across our blocks and communal areas, providing accurate data on condition, lifecycle and investment needs. Your insights will support fair service charge recovery, inform sinking funds and Major Works Plans, and strengthen long‑term investment forecasting. You’ll also work closely with leaseholders and resident groups, clearly explaining findings, upcoming works and Section 20 processes to build trust and understanding.

Salary: £40,750 + car allowance

Contract: Permanent
Your week: 36.25 (Mon – Fri 9am – 5.15pm)

Snapshot of your role

• Undertake detailed surveys of leasehold dwellings, blocks and communal areas, capturing condition, lifecycle and investment requirements.
• Collect accurate data on structural, shared and external elements including lifts, roofs, plant and communal spaces.
• Support mid‑ and post‑works inspections on planned investment programme, particularly Amber/Red contracts.
• Prepare block‑level reports informing sinking funds, Major Works Plans and long‑term investment forecasting.
• Provide technical input to Section 20 consultations and service charge queries.
• Attend resident meetings to explain findings and upcoming works in clear, accessible language.

What we’re looking for

About the role

As a Research Grants Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the research funding cycle, from application and peer review through to award management and post‑award administration. Join Dementia UK as Policy and Public Affairs Manager (Scotland) and play a pivotal role in shaping our influence as we deliver our 2025–30 strategy. Working collaboratively with colleagues across policy, public affairs, campaigns, communications, clinical services and lived experience, you will develop and deliver a Scottish policy and public affairs strategy that aligns with our UK-wide approach. You will also represent Dementia UK externally as our primary political contact in Scotland, ensuring our perspectives are heard in key debates and decision‑making forums.

To thrive in this role, you will bring strong political instincts, deep knowledge of Scottish political institutions and policy processes, and a proven ability to build influential relationships with senior stakeholders. REMAP is a unique national charity. It brings together two groups of people: volunteers skilled at making things and disabled people who need specialist equipment. Each year, around 3,000 pieces of custom-made equipment help transform the lives of disabled people.

The Role

The Volunteer Recruitment Officer will lead structured volunteer growth and engagement across REMAP’s national branch network. The role exists to increase the number of active volunteers and strengthen branch capacity, ensuring the organisation can respond effectively to client referrals and deliver bespoke mobility and independence solutions.

Working proactively with Branch Chairs and the operations team, the postholder will focus on targeted recruitment, improved conversion of volunteer applications, and more consistent onboarding practices across the network. The emphasis is on building resilient local teams, supporting succession planning, and improving the distribution of volunteers to branches with identified capacity gaps.

Routine administrative onboarding processes sit within the wider team. This role is focused on delivering measurable growth in active volunteer capacity and engagement.

About You

We want you to bring relevant experience, passion, dedication, creativity, and flair to our work.

To be considered for this role, you will have demonstrable experience in a similar position and be comfortable working with a diverse range of volunteers/people. As a self-starter, you can work at pace and quickly assess and deliver to changing priorities in a busy remote team. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to coordinate multiple tasks/activities and have the flexibility to respond to changing demands.

You will be proactive, enthusiastic, and excited about joining an organisation with ambitious plans to future-proof its services and reach more disabled people. Experience working in a remote environment is highly desirable.

Additional information about the role

Place of work: Fully remote, with occasional 1/2 nights away for year-round events.

Working Hours: 22 hrs, FTE 0.6 (pattern to be discussed)

Salary: 13,400 - £15,000 (actual salary), dependent on experience

Holiday entitlement: Begins at 25 days per annum (pro-rata), in addition to public holidays.

Individual Giving & Engagement Manager

We are seeking a strategic and creative Individual Giving & Engagement Manager to grow supporter income and deepen relationships with individuals passionate about protecting rainforests.

About the Role

This role will lead the organisation’s individual giving programme, developing strategies to attract, engage and retain supporters while increasing sustainable income.

Working closely with the fundraising and communications teams, you will oversee multi-channel campaigns, supporter journeys and fundraising appeals. You will also manage a small team and use data insights to optimise performance and drive long term supporter engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the development and delivery of the individual giving strategy
• Managing campaigns across digital, social and supporter communications channels
• Growing income through regular giving, appeals, payroll giving and community fundraising
• Managing budgets, monitoring performance and analysing campaign results
• Collaborating with marketing and communications colleagues to deliver integrated campaigns
