Purpose of the role

As Deputy CEO of Leeds Older People’s Forum, you will play a pivotal leadership role in driving our mission to ensure older people in Leeds have the opportunities, choices and support they need to live the life they want. 

Working closely with the CEO, you will shape organisational strategy, influence policy and system change, and build strong partnerships with decision‑makers, funders and our third sector member organisations. 

What’s involved? 

The Deputy CEO will support the CEO drive LOPF’s mission and lead delivery of its key outcomes for older people in Leeds. The role combines strategy, influence and leadership, including:

• Shaping and delivering LOPF strategy and developing new ideas that improve the lives of older people.

• Influencing policy and system change by building strong relationships with decision‑makers and ensuring the third sector has a voice at city‑wide boards.

• Supporting and strengthening our third sector members through learning, grant‑making, network support and helping members access funding.

• Responsibility for managing staff, budgets, projects and funder relationships.

• Ensuring impact, keeping work aligned to LOPF’s priorities and involving older people and member organisations in everything we do.

What you’ll be doing……

• Deliver day-to-day housing and scheme management to support residents’ independence
• Monitor rent accounts and support residents to manage payments and avoid arrears
• Work closely with Adult Social Care, support providers, and external partners

What we’re looking for:

The Senior Community Fundraising & Events Coordinator will play a key role in growing and diversifying Brain Research UK’s community fundraising income and supporter engagement.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Data and Insights Officer to join our Impact and Evaluation team and shape how data is used at Chance to Shine. The role holder will strengthen our data practices and lead our monitoring analysis to ensure data is used effectively to support continuous improvement, planning and shape future priorities. They will play a key role in helping Chance to Shine use data in line with wider best practice by working collaboratively with internal and external partners, and being proactive in identifying and driving improvements.

This is a London Office based contract. A minimum of two days a week in the office would be required with the option to work from home on the other days. This role is focused on supporting the growth of the ShelterBox Book Club. You'll help create engaging content and foster a community of passionate Book Club members. With a love of books and excellent customer service you'll create meaningful connections with members and steward them to becoming life-long Book Club members and ShelterBox supporters.

The successful candidate will join a friendly and ambitious team and play a key role in helping to make ShelterBox Book Club a household name. The role will seek to build awareness of ShelterBox Book Club, increase social engagement and build communities across our social channels.

This is an exciting role, full of variety and the chance to work on one of the charity sectors most innovative and unique products.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for an enthusiastic book lover who cares about connecting with people and making a real difference in the world. They should be able to manage a busy and varied workload and work with a wide variety of people.

This is a perfect opportunity for someone wishing to develop their experience in the cross-section of fundraising and publishing. They will play a vital supportive role in delivering the ShelterBox Book Club to a growing audience of over 3,000 members.

• Read the book during each six week cycle and support the Book Club Manager to host and run the social media debates, video discussion and author Q&A's.

• Respond to member enquiries and comments on social media and through our shared mailbox.

• Support the Book Club Manager with the supporter journey review.

• Work alongside the Book Club Manager and the Insight Team to create, deliver and evaluate the annual Book Club supporter survey.

• Lead on the day to day running of the online Book Club community, by creating, scheduling and publishing engaging content (images, videos, carousels, gifs, copy etc.) across relevant channels to increase engagement and nurture advocacy.

• Ensuring a consistent tone of voice is delivered throughout all communications.

• Keep track of Book Club data and KPI's including discussion week feedback, author engagement, book topics and others.

• Support the Book Club Manager in the continual development of member journeys for both direct-debit members and gifted memberships across social media, email and face-to-face.

Who we are

IPSEA is a national charity working to ensure that children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) receive the educational support they are legally entitled to. Since we were formed in 1983, we have helped to improve the education experience of thousands of children and young people across England. We do this by providing free and independent legal advice and casework support for families, undertaking policy work and delivering training on the SEND legal framework.

What you’ll do

We are seeking a Head of Finance and Resources to provide strategic leadership and operational management across IPSEA’s finance, HR and Fundraising functions, ensuring the charity has robust financial management, effective systems, and sustainable infrastructure to deliver its mission. This role focuses on organisational management, financial integrity and coordination across functions, rather than providing specialist Fundraising or HR expertise.

This is a hands-on role. While the postholder leads on financial strategy, planning and control, they are also responsible for delivering key financial processes and day to day operations. The role oversees key organisational functions including HR and fundraising.

They line manage the Finance Administrator, HR Manager and Fundraising Manager, ensuring alignment, coordination and effective use of organisational resources across the organisation.

Professional expertise and delivery within HR and fundraising remain the responsibility of the relevant managers. The role does not carry responsibility for income generation targets but ensures robust financial and operational support for fundraising activity.

As Head of Finance and Resources, you will be responsible for:

• Financial systems, control and operations
• Financial reporting and Management Accounts
• Budgeting, forecasting and financial strategy
• Restricted funds, compliance and governance
• Fundraising and income support
• Leadership, resources and organisational operations

Who are we looking for?

You’ll need to be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent) with a strong understanding and experience of charity finance, SORP, compliance, risk management and governance.

Significantly experienced in charity finance and financial management or organisational resources, you will be able to prepare management accounts, budgets, forecasts and financial reports and support budgeting and longer-term financial planning.

You will have experience of managing and motivating staff while working with senior leadership teams and/or trustees.

You have strong organisational and analytical skills and can analyse financial information and translate it for non-financial stakeholders. Experience improving systems, processes or digital infrastructure would be preferred but is not essential.

It would be desirable if you had experience overseeing HR, fundraising or wider operational functions, or managing multi-disciplinary teams.
