We’re looking for an Events Manager to lead the delivery of a diverse and strategically focused events portfolio at Leeds Beckett University. We’re looking for a Stakeholder Engagement Manager to play a leading role in developing and delivering strategic stakeholder engagement activity at Leeds Beckett University. About Friends of Ibba Girls School (FIGS) 

Friends of Ibba Girls School, South Sudan (FIGS), is a registered UK Charity (114620) set up in 2011, at the request of local community leaders to help build and develop a girls’ boarding school in South Sudan. Ibba Girls Boarding School now educates over 320 primary and secondary school girls from across Western Equatoria State and employs around 40 staff. 

The school provides high-quality education in a context where most girls leave school before completing primary education and very few reach secondary level. FIGS is a relatively small UK-based charity with a strong national reputation and a substantial impact, demonstrating what high-quality girls’ education can achieve in South Sudan. FIGS works closely with Windle Trust International, which provides technical, financial and organisational support to the school in South Sudan. 

FIGS raises approximately £500,000 each year to meet the running and development costs of IGBS and FIGS. Fundraising and effective communications are therefore central to our mission. We are a small team and are looking for someone who will thrive in a varied role, is proactive, organised, and capable of handling multiple demands, with a readiness to learn and take on additional responsibilities. 

The Role 

This role involves supporting both fundraising and communications activities, alongside essential administrative functions. The Fundraising and Communications Officer will play a key role in implementing FIGS’ fundraising and communications plans, supporting donor engagement, campaigns, events, and day-to-day operational administration. You will be working closely with our Head of Fundraising and Communications, ensuring that FIGS has the resources to continue to support the education and boarding of over 320 marginalised girls in South Sudan.

The role is home-based but requires the ability and willingness to travel to fundraising and supporter events across the UK, including occasional evenings and weekends. 

FIGS is a trustee-led charity, with an active and engaged Board that plays a hands-on role in governance, strategy, fundraising and ambassadorial work. Trustees bring a wide range of experience, including diplomacy, international development, education, finance and communications, and work closely with staff to ensure the charity is well-run, accountable and effective. 

While Trustees retain strategic oversight and are closely involved in key decisions, FIGS also has a small paid staff team responsible for day-to-day operations, fundraising delivery and communications. The culture is collaborative and supportive, with regular interaction between Trustees and staff, and a shared commitment to the success of Ibba Girls Boarding School. 

The staff team currently consists of: 

• Head of Fundraising and Communications, responsible for overall fundraising strategy, communications, donor relationships and line management 

• Fundraising and Communications Officer (this role), supporting the delivery of fundraising and communications activity, donor engagement and essential administrative functions 

Staff work remotely within the UK and collaborate closely online, with regular team meetings and clear priorities. In South Sudan, Windle Trust International acts as FIGS’ managing agent, providing professional management and operational oversight of Ibba Girls Boarding School. 

This role sits at the heart of FIGS’ fundraising and communications work. You will work closely with the Head of Fundraising and Communications, interact regularly with Trustees (particularly around campaigns, events and reporting), and help ensure that systems, supporter engagement and communications run smoothly and professionally.

What to expect: This is a 12 month programme where you will be a leading role in driving the Stepping Stones Fundraising Campaign forward whilst gaining valuable work experience and developing professional competency. We are looking for a creative communications professional with an interest in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), or vice versa. You will help embed more consistent, robust 

approaches to evidence, learning and communications across the organisation, with the aim of improving service quality and better demonstrating our impact to our community, partners and funders. 

This is a 12-month fixed-term role, with the primary goal of strengthening our communications and supporting our MEL processes across the organisation. There may be potential to extend the contract, depending on organisational needs and funding. 

You will be well supported by the Head of Programmes and Impact and work closely with Programme Managers to support the collection of impact data in meaningful ways — not just to meet funder requirements, but to inform learning and improve delivery. Role Purpose

As Reception and Office Administrator, you will play a key role in the team; providing a warm, efficient and professional reception service, and being the first point of contact for enquiries.

You will also provide administrative support to contribute to the smooth running and success of services. This will include supporting with the promotion of our services, processing new referrals, managing bookings and payments, and maintaining good record keeping.

Our Centre operates 9am–5pm on Mondays and Fridays, and 9am–8pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Please note that some evening work is required for this role (with working hours 12-8pm in these instances).

Main Duties

• Provide a professional, confidential reception service, welcoming service users and volunteers and managing phone and email enquiries.
• Act as the first point of contact for enquiries, sharing accurate information and offering appropriate signposting.
• Deliver general administrative support to the team, including promoting the organisation’s services, processing referrals, arranging assessments, managing bookings and payments, and handling day‑to‑day reception tasks.

Key Tasks

Volunteer Engagement and Support

· Develop and grow the engagement in branches & SIGs and support volunteers to build new groups and networks.

· Build strong relationships with each branch and SIG community, providing administration support for their meetings and activities.

· With support, develop and deliver our annual in-person Volunteer Awards and annual in-person Volunteer Forum event.

· Work with the Communities and Events Manager to develop and deliver branch events and SIG conferences.

· Engage our volunteers with regular virtual ‘keep in touch’ meetings and other activities designed to maximise their satisfaction in their volunteer role – and share best practice across the networks.

Community Development

We are looking for a Partnerships Engagement Officer to join us at this exciting stage in Settle’s development. The Partnerships Engagement Officer will join the Business Development Team, reporting to the Senior Partnerships Manager. Hearing Dogs for Deaf People – Head of Acquisition
Location: Hybrid working with some travel to Hearing Dogs offices in either Buckinghamshire or East Yorkshire.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, whose mission is to build confidence, companionship and connection for people with hearing loss, is seeking a Head of Acquisition to lead and grow recruitment across individual giving, legacy and regular giving channels, as well as attracting new volunteers and service users.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People has been creating life-changing partnerships between hearing dogs and deaf recipients since 1982. As well as acting as an ear to their partners and alerting them to sounds, the charity’s clever and expertly trained dogs help deaf people to live life with confidence and independence, whilst providing love, companionship and emotional support. This is coupled with the provision of emotional and practical support services for anyone with hearing loss.

Following a strategic review, the charity is now entering an exciting period of growth and expanding their Individual Giving programme within the Performance Marketing and Communications Directorate, to enable them to transform many more lives across the UK.

Playing a pivotal role in this transformation, the Head of Acquisition will drive sustainable income growth through innovative, data-driven acquisition campaigns targeting new supporters, donors, lottery players and legacy pledgers that deepen engagement and bring the charity’s brand story to life. The ideal candidate will be a leader in supporter or customer acquisition in a not for profit or commercial environment, with a strong track record in delivering successful campaigns across multiple channels, including digital, face-to-face, direct marketing and fundraising products (eg lottery, legacy and regular giving). You will have experience in developing strategic investment cases and multi-year acquisition strategies, grounded in data insight and performance engagement. You will have also have a background in brand-led campaigns and communicating organisational impact to engage and convert audiences.
