Job description

ElmbridgeCAN is a volunteer-powered charity with a "Can-do" attitude, supporting those fleeing war or persecution and living in and around Elmbridge, Surrey. We have 6 staff and around 75 active volunteers.

This role will be focused primarily on supporting people seeking asylum and those who have recently been granted refugee status or humanitarian protection,  particularly, although not limited to, Arabic speakers,  and not Ukrainians (as they will be supported by our Ukrainian Integration staff)

We are looking for an experienced support worker, ideally Arabic speaking to join us as an integral part of the team and help us continue making a huge difference to many to rebuild their lives.

The role suits a flexible individual,  with excellent interpersonal and administrative skills, well boundaried and self-regulated while working with vulnerable individuals. Location is Home based with attendance in our rented space in Esher civic centre one day per week, and weekly hub locations. The role will be reporting to the Director, at least initially.

3 days/wk but hours flexible to fit in with needs of the work and the postholder, with expected attendance to staff meetings and support hubs in Walton and Weybridge, and office day in Esher
