Job description

Harris Hill is delighted to be partnering with a not-for-profit organisation to recruit an experienced Events Manager to join its busy Events Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced events professional to take responsibility for the successful end to end delivery of a varied portfolio of in person, digital and large scale events, including conferences, flagship events, workshops and other programmes.

Reporting to the Senior Event Manager, you will play a key role in turning strategic event plans into high quality, engaging experiences for delegates, speakers and stakeholders. You will also line manage two Events Executives, providing guidance, support and development.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver a portfolio of events, including large-scale conferences, online events, workshops and ad hoc events.
  • Manage events from initial planning through to onsite delivery, evaluation and post-event activity.
  • Coordinate venues, suppliers, AV/production teams and other external partners.
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to support event promotion.
  • Develop event staffing plans, volunteer requirements and event schedules.
  • Support registration and event app setup.
  • Coordinate and manage speakers, facilitators and other event contributors, ensuring requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Manage speaker communications, briefings, presentations, AV, accessibility, travel and accommodation requirements.
  • Coordinate the delivery of workshops, sessions and multi-stream programmes, ensuring all logistical, equipment, accessibility, health and safety and compliance requirements are addressed.

About you

We are looking for an experienced events professional with a strong track record of delivering a range of events, including large scale conferences, multi stream programmes and digital events.

You will have:

  • Significant experience working in an event management role.
  • Experience delivering events from planning through to onsite delivery and post-event evaluation.
  • Experience of line management, supervision or mentoring.
  • Strong experience coordinating speakers, facilitators or subject matter experts.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing deadlines.
  • Experience managing event budgets, tracking expenditure and processing invoices.
  • Experience working with venues, suppliers and AV/production teams.
  • Excellent organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and make practical decisions during live events.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, alongside experience using event management systems.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: £43,813 per annum
  • Contract type: 12 months FTC, full time, 35 hrs a week
  • Location: London, hybrid working , 1-2 days a week in the office.
  • Deadline on rolling basis
