We’re looking for an organised, proactive and people-focused Public Fundraising Executive (Community & Challenge Events) to join our ambitious Fundraising team and help support, develop and grow our Challenge Events programme, alongside delivering Community Fundraising activity.

The Role
We are looking for an IT Support Technician to join our small, hands-on IT team supporting over 500 users across more than 50 sites. This is a varied role combining day-to-day IT support with exposure to networking, systems administration, and infrastructure support.
You will work across offices, residential services and remote locations, helping to keep systems running and supporting staff delivering vital services. You’ll gain exposure to a multi-site environment including networking, VPNs, and cloud systems.
What you’ll be doing:
• Providing 1st and 2nd line IT support across multiple sites
• Troubleshooting hardware, software, network and user issues

You will play a vital role in filling a gap in our current portfolio and will be supported by the Trusts & Statutory Fundraising Manager to build the new programme from the outset.
About the role
As part of the Trusts & Statutory team, you will sit within the Philanthropy & Partnerships department; a collaborative and creative collection of teams who are committed to diversifying the charity’s income.
The core function of your role will be to develop and manage a new programme of mid-value (£10k-£99k) trusts, foundations, and National Lottery agencies to increase income for both project and core activities. This will include researching and building a pipeline of prospects, preparing high-quality written proposals and reports, and delivering excellent stewardship. You will account-manage a small cohort of existing donors, delivering on contractual agreements and strengthening the relationships long term.
You will liaise closely with colleagues across services, research, and campaigning to gather the necessary project information, data, case studies, and outcomes for use in your applications and impact reporting.

What the job involves
We’re looking for two Events and Community Coordinators to join our Events and Community Team, one permanent contract and one fixed term for 12 months. We’re a results-driven team focused on maximising opportunities, reaching ambitious goals, and delivering an outstanding experience for our supporters.
Our team raise funds through a range of activities including:
· our own events (e.g. March for Men)
· virtual products (e.g. The Month Series)
· third party events (e.g. London Marathon)
· Golf Days
· helping community fundraisers who organise their own activity
You’ll be our first point of contact for our fundraisers, providing admin and support through telephone, email, and social media channels. You’ll build and manage relationships with existing and new supporters. From registration to the end of their supporter journey, you'll help motivate during challenges, offer fundraising advice and ensure thanks at the end of a first-class experience.
Whilst each Coordinator has a primary area of responsibility across different types of events, you’ll also work across teams to support where needed during busy periods of activity. This role sits within the Sporting Events sub-team, supporting people taking on third party fundraising events such as the TCS London Marathon, a cycling event or our own event, March for Men. Day-to-day, you’ll manage our inbox and proactively reach out to new fundraisers to offer support and guidance, as well as delivering core processes like thanking, fulfilment and volunteer management in collaboration with other internal teams.
You’ll also work with our Communications teams. This supports the planning and delivery of our activity. You'll help engage with our digital adverts and identify compelling supporter stories. This helps to raise the profile of our fundraising activity, as well as prostate cancer and Prostate Cancer UK.

You’ll have the drive and eagerness to provide crucial support to our sector-leading programme of events which generated over £41m of gross income in 2025-6. The Charity Governance Secretariat Manager is a full-time hybrid role based in Letchworth, with the flexibility to work from home for part of the week. The role involves managing governance processes for charity clients, including coordinating board and committee meetings, preparing agendas and papers, maintaining accurate records and minutes, and tracking actions to completion. The manager will ensure compliance with charity regulations and best practice, oversee key governance documents and policies, and support trustees and senior leaders with timely information and guidance. We have an exciting opportunity for a Carer Engagement Lead to join our team, in a new role working directly with the CEO to ensure that carers lived experience is heard and understood and that carers, including young carers across Essex, have opportunities to participate and contribute. This is a rewarding and varied role, combining direct engagement with carers alongside analysing data and communicating evidence of need to help effect real and positive change.
You will be an engaging communicator with active listening skills and the ability to interpret and apply lived experience to strategic and policy decisions and planning. You will ideally have personal experience of unpaid caring responsibilities and may have previously facilitated service user involvement. You'll be passionate about harnessing the voice of local carers to secure improved outcomes for carers of all ages across Essex.
Action for Family Carers is a thriving charity which for over 35 years has been providing support for Adult Carers and Young Carers – people with unpaid caring responsibilities for others. We are a Carers Trust Network Partner and hold the Excellence for Carers quality mark. We provide support including information, coaching, counselling, peer support, respite care, and Young Carer clubs across Essex, working within schools, GP practices and a variety of community settings.
Your responsibilities will include:
Coordinating participation opportunities that enable adult and young carers to influence local, regional and national policy decisions and help achieve positive change
Harnessing and amplifying local carer voice and experience and engaging carers in service planning, delivery and review
Identifying themes and trends and ensuring these are communicated to key stakeholders
Monitoring and reporting on outcomes.
You will need to be:
An excellent communicator with empathy and active listening skills.
Proactive, highly organised and equally at home analysing data or producing reports as in engaging with carers and senior local decision makers
Confident in the use of IT including Microsoft 365 and CRMs (databases).
Passionate about improving outcomes for local carers.
A driver with access to a vehicle and a willingness to travel across Essex.
