JOB DESCRIPTION
The Fundraising Data and Operations Manager role sits within the Supporter Engagement (Public Fundraising) team which is part of the wider Income Generation and Communications directorate. It is a pivotal role as it’s at the centre of all our Fundraising data, payments and supporter-related processes.

Role Overview
The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth, efficient, and compliant day-to-day operations of Glitch, enabling the effective delivery and adherence to policies and regulation for the charity and team. The role holder will be the charity's data protection officer; they will meticulously ensure we remain fully compliant with all relevant charity regulations, maintaining our integrity and trust with regulatory bodies, funders and donors, and our supporters. This role will also serve as the Board Secretary, attending Board of Trustees meetings 4-6 times a year, taking minutes and managing the process of all documentation for the Board. As the Operations Manager, you will work closely with the Executive Director and our Finance Director in recruitment and hiring, finance and administration, and events support. Oversee the charity’s administrative functions, including triaging the general inbox, scheduling team meetings and other ad-hoc administrative work in supporting the ED in running the day-to-day of the charity
Maintain and improve existing operational systems and processes including information systems

About the Role
We are looking for a Head of Finance and Income Operations to lead NFFN’s finance function and help strengthen the systems, controls and reporting that will support the organisation’s next stage of growth.
This is a senior leadership role at the heart of a small, ambitious and mission-led organisation. You will oversee day-to-day financial management, budgeting, management accounts, restricted funds, funder reporting and income operations. You will also help improve how finance works across NFFN, giving budget holders clearer information and helping the organisation make confident, well-informed decisions.
The role is about more than keeping the numbers moving. We are looking for someone who can help build a stronger finance function, improve internal systems, support funder confidence, and help NFFN manage a more complex mix of grants, donations, restricted funding and revenue-based delivery work.
Depending on your background, this may suit someone with strong charity finance experience, or someone from a finance, grants, funding operations or mission-led commercial background who wants to use their skills in a values-led organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
leading day-to-day financial management, controls and reporting
preparing budgets, forecasts, management accounts and financial updates
supporting budget holders with clear, practical financial information
improving finance systems, processes, approvals and reporting tools
overseeing restricted funds, grant conditions, funder reporting and income tracking

This role will suit someone who combines financial rigour with practical judgement. You will need to be comfortable working independently in a remote organisation, explaining finance clearly to non-finance colleagues, and improving systems in a way that is proportionate and realistic for a small non profit organisation.
We know this is a broad role, and we are not expecting one person to have done everything before. We are looking for someone with strong financial experience, good judgement, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in helping NFFN build the financial infrastructure it needs for the future.

Finance and Operations Officer – Forward Thinking
Forward Thinking is a small, dynamic charity where every member of staff makes a significant contribution. We are looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership of a varied role, works proactively in a small team and takes pride in supporting the smooth running of the organisation which works in frontline mediation in conflict zones.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Finance and Operations Officer plays a central role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of Forward Thinking. This is a varied role comprising approximately two days per week of office administration and operations and one day per week of bookkeeping and finance administration.
The successful candidate will take a hands-on approach to coordinating staff diaries, organising meetings, supporting governance and compliance, maintaining office systems and policies, and managing the charity’s day-to-day financial administration.
You will report directly to the Director of Forward Thinking and will be in regular contact with him to keep him informed of key developments.
To succeed in this role, you will be highly organised, capable of managing multiple priorities, able to work to deadlines and comfortable working independently within a small, collaborative team.

Essential Requirements
The role requires an individual with experience in office administration and bookkeeping, ideally within the charity or voluntary sector.
You will demonstrate the ability to organise meetings at short notice, coordinate diaries, prepare accurate minutes and maintain effective office systems. You will also be responsible for monitoring funding and reporting deadlines, ensuring compliance with the charity’s governing documents, and maintaining key organisational policies including safeguarding, health and safety, insurance and GDPR.
Experience using accounting software (preferably Sage Business Cloud) and strong Excel skills are essential.
