Oasis Southampton City Farm is a community focused registered charity working in Southampton. We provide a range of supportive, wellbeing boosting, and nature-based activities for our communities, which include young people and adult learners with disabilities.
We are looking for sessional farm assistants who will support the Farm Lead in delivering the vision for the farm by supporting the delivery of the farm’s variety of activities, including:
· To deliver youth activities on the farm, supporting young people to help care for the animals
· To deliver birthday parties on weekends to groups of up to 30,
· To deliver animal experiences, giving families the opportunity to meet and greet our rescued and rehomed animals
· To support our adult day service with caring for our animals
· To support with the animal cleaning and feeding rota, alongside groups or individuals.
· To support with the running of our café, which runs on the weekends. Working alongside our youth volunteers to serve refreshments and food.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate:
· Relevant qualifications and experience in animal management/public sector
· Relevant qualifications and experience in youth work, teaching, or community based projects
· The flexibility to work across the week, including some weekends.
· Excellent verbal communication skills
· Proven ability to work alongside others in projects that work with the public.
· Punctuality, reliability, and honesty.
· Ability to always evidence the Oasis ethos and values.

Internship opportunities for 2026-27
Are you a young *Christian who is passionate about issues of justice and peace? Do you want to explore the intersection of faith, policy, and politics, and potentially pursue a career in one of these fields? The Joint Public Issues Team (JPIT) is recruiting to two full time paid internship positions to start in September 2026.
Interns work as part of a small ecumenical team on a diverse range of tasks and initiatives including communications, policy, campaigning and supporter engagement, contributing to the public advocacy and political engagement work of the Baptist, Methodist and United Reformed Churches.
JPIT is a partnership between the Baptist Union of Great Britain, the Methodist Church and the United Reformed Church, and the Church of Scotland is an associate partner. Its purpose is to help the Churches to work together for peace and justice through listening, learning, praying, speaking and acting on public policy issues. It is a team which brings together around ten staff working across the denominations. In recent years it has focused on issues around poverty, the economy, refugees and migration, the environment, peace and conflict, and politics.
These internships provide opportunities to develop skills in campaigning, communications, research, and policy within a dynamic team environment. There will be opportunities for professional and personal learning and development to equip the intern for further employment after their time on the internship. Whilst we are looking for some evidence of certain skills and experience, candidates will have the opportunity to develop relevant skills during their time in the role.
They are full time paid roles with fixed-term contracts to the end of August 2027, and a salary of £26,936.00 per year (we are committed to paying at least the London Living Wage). The roles are based in the Methodist Connexional Team which offers hybrid working arrangements, with an expectation of spending at least two days a week at an office base in central London.

The Role

Candidate Requirements
We are seeking a highly capable, strategic, and commercially aware finance professional with:
- Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with full membership of a recognised body.
- Significant senior financial leadership experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector.
- Proven experience in strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Experience of leading financial transformation and change programmes.
- Experience presenting complex financial information to Boards and non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of charity finance regulations, SORP, governance, and compliance.
- Exceptional analytical, project management, and strategic planning skills.
- Ability to lead, influence, and inspire cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
- Commitment to SIG’s values, trauma-informed approach, and inclusive leadership.
Desirable:
- Relevant postgraduate qualification in finance, leadership, or management.

About the role
As an Employment Coach, you will manage a caseload of participants aged 18-24 years old, and provide them with 1:1 support, helping them overcome barriers to employment and training. You will be responsible for supporting them through every stage of their journey, enabling participants to address their barriers and realise their aspirations.
Within this role you will be required to source new referrals who are predominantly economically inactive; complete the enrolment paperwork, including development plans and eligibility checks. You will also be required to attend events and present the delivery model to referral sources to attract additional referrals.

You’ll champion best‑practice reproductive care, influence high‑quality decision‑making, and help ensure that long‑term comfort, health and happiness remain at the heart of every breeding choice we make.
Based at our National Breeding Centre near Leamington Spa, you’ll work 35 hours per week between 8am and 6pm, Monday–Friday. You’ll also participate in a 1 in 4 weekend rota, ensuring continuous, outstanding care for our dogs.

What You’ll Do
- Carry out key reproductive duties, including cytology, progesterone testing and supervising matings, ensuring the highest standards of welfare and outcomes.

- Maintain accurate records, analyse reproductive data and contribute to continuous improvement across the breeding programme.
- Develop skills in ultrasound and reproductive techniques, including artificial insemination, under veterinary direction (full training provided).
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers and external partners, representing the breeding programme professionally.
What You’ll Bring
- Registered Veterinary Nurse with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
- Significant experience working in a veterinary practice.
- At least one year’s experience in a scientific or laboratory setting, with the ability and willingness to learn new techniques.
- Advanced knowledge of canine anatomy and reproduction, gained through academic study and/or practical experience.
- Strong understanding of canine behaviour, temperament and reproductive health.
- Good understanding of laboratory processes and equipment.
- Confident dog‑handling skills.
