At the National Institute of Teaching (NIoT), we believe teaching is a fundamental societal good, a privilege and a responsibility. We are on a mission to improve the quality of teacher and leader development at a system level, using evidence, research and partnership to help shape a stronger education system for the future.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation with a clear and ambitious mission. Our work brings together high-quality programme delivery, rigorous research and deep sector knowledge to generate and apply insights that can improve teaching and learning across the country. The data we collect through our programmes and partnerships is central to that mission: it helps us understand what works, strengthen professional development, and ensure evidence informs practice, policy and public debate.
About the role
As Data Curator, you will play a key role in making sure our data can be used safely, effectively and insightfully to support research and generate impact. You will work across teams to understand how data is generated, how it is currently used, and how systems, processes and tools can be strengthened so that our data is reliable, accessible and fit for research purposes.
You will work closely with colleagues behind the NIoT’s Teacher Education Dataset (TED), helping to maintain and enhance curated datasets and explore how new sources of data can strengthen our understanding of teacher and leader development.
You will also collaborate with researchers and practitioners working through the NIoT’s Professional Development Laboratory, our test-and-learn centre focused on identifying and sharing effective approaches to professional development. This role would suit someone who enjoys working at the intersection of data, research and education, and who is motivated by the opportunity to contribute to work that has real sector-wide significance.
This role is fixed term due to funding, and it is too early to comment on the possibility of a permanent position.
This is a hybrid role, with the requirement for in person working for a minimum of once a fortnight, occasionally this will be more due to business need. The role includes participation in our annual all-staff away day (including an overnight stay) and occasional national travel.
We think a wide range of different work and educational experiences could support you to be successful in this role. We encourage applications from all backgrounds, communities and industries, and are committed to employing a team that has diverse skills, experiences and abilities.
Essential Criteria:
- Commitment to the NIoT’s mission and to improving outcomes through rigorous evidence, strong partnerships and thoughtful external engagement.
- Experience working with data in an education context, such as school, MAT, university, or teacher education settings.
- Experience applying data quality concepts — completeness, consistency, accuracy – in professional and/or research contexts.
- Experience of applying data governance principles in school and/or research settings.
- Experience interrogating and working with structured datasets, with or without technical coding skills.
- Familiarity with the use of qualitative and quantitative data for research purposes, as well as key issues in data interpretation such as biases and comparability.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly and take initiative in the face of new challenges.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly about data to expert and non-expert audiences, adhering to high professional standards.
- Strong ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
- Motivated to work at the interface of academic and professional priorities and working cultures, with a diverse team and multiple external stakeholders.
Desirable Criteria:
- Degree level education, or equivalent experience.
- Experience working as a teacher or in another professional role in schools, such as data manager.
- Familiarity with school data systems (MIS systems like Bromcom, SIMS, Arbor)
- Strong documentation skills such as writing data dictionaries, process documentation, and data flow mapping
- Understanding of data linking concepts and the challenges involved
- Knowledge of GDPR and data sharing in an education context
- Experience with tools like Excel, SQL, R, Python or GitHub at a basic level
- Degree in a relevant field such as data science, information management, education, social science, or a related discipline
- Evidence of continuing professional development in data management (e.g. CDMP, or relevant training)
Key Benefits:
- Highly competitive pay and pay progression opportunities
- Flexible start and end working times
- Flexible working opportunities, including hybrid working
- At least 27 days’ holiday a year (plus 8 bank holidays) rising to 33 days after five years’ service
- Entry to the Local Government Pension Scheme
- A stimulating, supportive and rewarding working environment with a dedicated team of likeminded professionals

Could you be the person who helps make brilliant fundraising happen behind the scenes?
Natasha’s Foundation, the food allergy charity, is looking for an experienced, highly organised and personable Fundraising & Supporter Care Coordinator to join our small and ambitious fundraising team.
We’re a passionate, energetic and friendly team, united by a determination to make a real difference. We work hard, move quickly and have big ambitions for a small charity – but we also really value the way we work together. Everyone brings something different, ideas are welcomed, people support one another and there’s a genuine sense of excitement about what we can achieve.
This is a varied role for someone who loves working with people, takes real pride in getting the detail right and is equally comfortable supporting a donor, working with data or helping a busy fundraising team stay one step ahead.
You’ll be at the heart of our fundraising operation: providing warm and thoughtful supporter care, supporting individual giving, helping us make the best use of our Beacon CRM, producing accurate fundraising and income information, and supporting proposals, reports, communications and fundraising resources.
We’re looking for someone who is warm, organised, numerate and confident with data, with excellent attention to detail and practical experience of using Beacon CRM. If you enjoy making things work brilliantly, care about giving supporters a great experience and want to bring your skills and energy to a charity where your contribution will genuinely be noticed and valued, we’d love to hear from you.

Our guests arrive having been told, in a hundred different ways, that they are a problem to be managed. Our radical welcome is the opposite of that — and we are looking for someone to help us sustain it.
Kairos Housing grew out of a shared vision between local churches in Blackburn with Darwen. Our mission is to show the love of Jesus as we provide sanctuary, build community and seek justice.
The people we house have often been sleeping on park benches, sofa-surfing, or staying somewhere unsafe. Some have had an asylum claim refused and cannot work, rent or claim benefits. Others have just been granted refugee status and days to leave Home Office accommodation. We offer a home, and walk with them until they can stand on their own.
Our welcome means saying welcome home and meaning it — a safe place, a bed, community, support and belonging. Not hostility, and not even tolerance. We publicly challenge the hostility our guests face and speak up for a fairer system as part of our mission.Everything in this job about compliance, rent collection and record-keeping exists as so we can provide that radical welcome.
The role
We need someone to take on the day-to-day running of Kairos Housing.
What you'll be working on
- You'll oversee our properties — maintenance, repairs, standards and compliance — as we grow from five homes to seven.
- You'll manage rental income and housing benefit applications from start to finish.
- You'll line manage two part-time colleagues and our volunteers, and coordinate the support our guests receive.
- You'll hold hard conversations with our guests around: arrears, house rules, and occasionally asking someone to leave.
- You'll build partnerships with councils, contractors and other charities, and work with our CEO and trustees on the charity's growth.
- You'll hold our Christian ethos — leading staff prayer and devotionals, building partnerships with local churches, and being available for prayer when asked.
This job is for you if…
- you have a heart for social justice and for people rebuilding their lives
- you are well organised and can hold a lot at once without dropping things
- you build good working relationships easily, inside and outside your own team
- you are calm in difficult situations and can say hard things with kindness
- you are confident with records, figures and computer systems, or ready to learn
- you can travel between our properties across Blackburn and Darwen
You do not need a housing background. If you arrive with relevant operations or housing experience, we would expect to appoint at or near the top of the range. If you have the values and transferable skills but not the technical knowledge, we will train you — including a fully funded housing qualification with paid study leave.
Key details
Office based at Church House, Blackburn Cathedral grounds, with the option to work from home occasionally, and regular travel to our properties. 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (This is not an on-call role). Responsible to the Board of Trustees.
Benefits: 25 days holiday plus statutory holidays; 3% employer pension; full mileage; funded qualification and paid study leave; reflective supervision and peer support.
It is an occupational requirement of this post that the postholder is a practising Christian, in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010. Our guests come from many faiths and from none, and are never expected to share ours.
A driving licence valid in the UK and access to a vehicle are essential, and an Enhanced DBS check is required. We cannot sponsor visa applications.
We shortlist blind, and guarantee an interview to anyone meeting the essential criteria who identifies as disabled or has first-hand lived experience of the UK asylum or immigration system.

Greyhound Rescue Wales (GRW) is Wales’ leading charity dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming greyhounds and lurchers. Founded in 1993, we have spent more than three decades championing the welfare of sighthounds and working towards our vision: a Wales without greyhound racing, where every greyhound and lurcher has a home and receives the best possible care.
In April 2026, after 25 years of determined campaigning to improve welfare and regulation within the racing industry, legislation to ban greyhound racing in Wales was finally passed. This landmark achievement marks the beginning of a new chapter for GRW as we expand our reach and capacity across the UK to ensure every greyhound leaving the racing industry has a rescue space, medical support and rehabilitation on the journey towards their forever home.
To help us grow sustainably and strengthen our long‑term impact, we are now seeking to develop our fundraising team with the creation of a Trusts and Foundations Officer.
