About Axiom Maths
Axiom Maths is a maths education charity on a mission to help every child with the heart and head for maths realise the potential of their power - especially those whose potential is too often held back by disadvantage. Every year 30,000 children who were top performers at the end of primary school don’t go on to get top GCSE grades in maths. We aim to change that by partnering with schools across England and Wales to run fully-funded in-school or online maths circles. Pupils tackle challenging and rewarding maths problems in a supportive social group where the subject is valued.
About the role
This is an exciting chance to share your passion for maths, challenge young minds and nurture mathematical talent in your local community.
As a Maths Excellence Tutor, you will lead weekly extracurricular maths circles sessions with small groups of carefully selected high-attaining pupils at local schools. These aren't ordinary lessons. Pupils tackle challenging and rewarding problems together, lose themselves in mathematical thinking, and leave each session a little more confident in who they are as mathematicians.
You will typically lead a minimum of 3 maths circles per week, where available. You will be working with our regional School Partnerships team who will support with the schools you are working in and keep you connected with what is happening across the region. Your schools will have a designated contact who will offer insights and guidance to help your maths circles thrive. There are no mandatory set hours, but the role is best suited to candidates available between 3:00pm-5pm on at least 3 weekdays. You can indicate any regular unavailability in your application.
Applications: Please note, your application must include the video submission to be considered.
The duties of this role include
Prepare for each session: Watch the introductory video, work through the problems yourself, read the guidance notes and think about how you'll draw the maths out of your pupils.
Lead the Axiom Maths curriculum: Lead sessions that spark curiosity, stretch thinking, and challenge and inspire.
Build a community of mathematicians: Help pupils see themselves as mathematicians and feel part of a larger network of like-minded peers supporting each other
Develop in-school connections: Work closely with in-school staff to tailor your maths circle to their school context and to meet pupil needs
Reporting and feedback:
• Report weekly on pupils' attendance and share feedback on curriculum resources so we can keep improving them together
• Report to schools how your pupils are progressing as mathematicians
• Complete mentor surveys to help shape the programme
General:
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils at all times

Hybrid working with regular travel to our London Bridge Office
What the job involves
We’re looking for two Events and Community Coordinators to join our Events and Community Team, one permanent contract and one fixed term for 12 months. We’re a results-driven team focused on maximising opportunities, reaching ambitious goals, and delivering an outstanding experience for our supporters.
Our team raise funds through a range of activities including:
· our own events (e.g. March for Men)
· virtual products (e.g. The Month Series)

You’ll build and manage relationships with existing and new supporters. From registration to the end of their supporter journey, you'll help motivate during challenges, offer fundraising advice and ensure thanks at the end of a first-class experience.
Whilst each Coordinator has a primary area of responsibility across different types of events, you’ll also work across teams to support where needed during busy periods of activity. This role sits within the Sporting Events sub-team, supporting people taking on third party fundraising events such as the TCS London Marathon, a cycling event or our own event, March for Men. Day-to-day, you’ll manage our inbox and proactively reach out to new fundraisers to offer support and guidance, as well as delivering core processes like thanking, fulfilment and volunteer management in collaboration with other internal teams.
You’ll also work with our Communications teams. This supports the planning and delivery of our activity. You'll help engage with our digital adverts and identify compelling supporter stories. You’ll make a positive and valuable contribution to the success of the Events and Community Fundraising team through excellent communication skills and being proactive in supporting our event participants. You’ll have a strong eye for detail, customer-centric mindset and will be able to prioritise a busy workload to ensure we are able to consistently deliver excellent supporter care. You’ll be self-motivated, well organised and have a ‘can-do’ approach to the role.
Why work with us?
Every man needs to know about the most common cancer in men – prostate cancer. It’s a real and present danger that takes over 12,000 of our dads, grandads, brothers and friends each year.
Prostate Cancer UK is the largest men’s health charity in the UK. We have a simple ambition – to stop prostate cancer damaging lives. We invest millions in research to revolutionise testing, treatment and care. We’re blazing a trail to a screening programme that could save thousands of lives with regular, accurate tests for all men at risk. And we work tirelessly to spread the word about risk and offer specialist support to people living with the disease.
Work with us and you’ll see your efforts pay off as we give men and their families the power to navigate prostate cancer.
Our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion
At Prostate Cancer UK we’re committed to righting health inequalities across the UK, starting with those faced by Black men. This includes ground-breaking research into Black men's risk and working with communities directly to overcome barriers to the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. To make this happen, we're dedicated to being an inclusive, proactive organisation, as we strive to be Allies to Black communities. We’ll achieve this by advocating and working alongside those communities to promote change. We're also working to be Allies to each other, not only protected groups. In 2024, we launched our New Allyship Training Programme. All colleagues at Prostate Cancer UK will be trained to act and identify as an Ally.
We've also signed Business in the Communities Race at Work Charter, as a dedication to our Black health equity work and wider EDI priorities. As a signatory, we're responsible and accountable for driving positive change.
How and where we work
Colleagues attend the office at least four days per month (pro rata for part-time colleagues) to collaborate, build relationships, and support projects and decision-making. You can choose where to work the rest of the time. Travel to the office is a commute, so we pay our own travel costs.
Additional in-person attendance will be required during your first few months for induction and training, to support you to learn the role and get to know colleagues.
We trust colleagues to work flexibly while balancing personal commitments with the needs of the charity, and we are committed to making reasonable adjustments for colleagues with a disability, neurodiversity, or a long-term physical or mental health condition.
