The Role

The CEO will be accountable to the talented and committed Board of Trustees and be responsible for the overall strategic management, leadership, and development of Harrogate Neighbours. Duties will include:

• Ensuring the development and implementation of integrated strategies across care, housing, operations, finance, marketing and communications, human resources and workforce, information management and technology, estates and performance monitoring, management and reporting.
• Providing overall leadership for Harrogate Neighbours in line with the vision, mission and values agreed by the Board of Trustees.
• Providing strategic leadership for fundraising and income diversification, ensuring the organisation has a sustainable and mixed portfolio of income.
• Developing and maintaining positive collaborative partnership arrangements with commissioners, local authorities, local communities, MPs, the voluntary sector, communities and other key partners and stakeholders.
• Overseeing the financial processes for the organisation and leading delivery of the agreed budgets.

Scope of role  

This role within the Noah’s Ark Charity, will support our community fundraising team.The Community Fundraising co-ordinator will provide essential administrative and operational support to the Community Fundraising team. The postholder will help ensure the smooth delivery of fundraising activities by managing supporter communications, maintaining accurate records, coordinating resources, and supporting events and campaigns. 

This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting community-led fundraising initiatives. 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Support Community Fundraising Income generation 

• To encourage the development of new supporter relationships through proactive communication, to achieve income and provide excellent supporter care to ensure the relationship is ongoing, beyond one-off support for the charity.

• To support the community fundraising team through relationships with patient families, third party fundraisers, community groups, schools and education establishments and public bodies.

• To assist with creating and maintain strong regional corporate partnerships within the community fundraising team, with the support of the community fundraising manager and head of fundraising and development.

• To deliver time specific and sector specific email/postal campaigns, encouraging organisation and participation in fundraising events.

• To contribute to the strategic development of community fundraising.  Ambassador programme 

• To communicate with the family ambassador programme helping to grow the network of key supporters who will represent and be the face of the charity within their local community. 

• Support the community fundraising manager and regional fundraiser with the development of the ambassador programme including training and thanking opportunities.

Supporter experience 

• To champion consistent and excellent supporter care. 

• To record all communications accurately on the database, ensuring information is gathered and recorded in accordance with the requirements of the data protection act, GDPR and the charity’s data protection policy. 

• To respond to supporter enquiries in a timely manner and deal with complaints, escalating as appropriate.

• To deliver an excellent supporter journey and contribute to the central supporter journey for community fundraising with resources, materials and information. 

• Assist with the coordination of fundraising events and activities 

Cross team working 

• To work collaboratively with fundraising colleagues across the team to deliver wider fundraising income and charity objectives.For example, gifts in wills, regular giving, event participation, volunteering and communications.

Budgets 

• Work with the community fundraising team and head of fundraising and development, to build and manage a detailed fundraising budget, including income and expenditure. 

Best practice  

• Ensure all fundraising practice is in line with organisational guidelines and policies. 

• Encourage and champion compliance and best practice within the fundraising team. 

• Ensure own compliance with fundraising standards and requirements, keeping up to date with key policies and regulations, including the fundraising regulator, chartered institute of fundraising and the charity commission.

Overview of Training Courses

In 2021, the Geological Society embarked on a journey by introducing its highly anticipated training courses, following a successful trial in 2020. Since then, these courses have become a cornerstone of knowledge dissemination within the geological community, covering a spectrum of topics, and have experienced a surge in participation. Our training courses are mostly online and delivered by subject matter experts.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

• Take overall responsibility within the Events Team for our Training Courses programme, from promotion to delivery, and achieving our net income targets.
• Develop effective working relationships with society stakeholders, events team, Training Course Committee, Professional Committee, Chartership Officer and wider teams at the society including Publishing House to maximise opportunities for courses.
• Lead on Training Course Committee meetings creating agendas and keeping members regularly informed.
• Report on key areas in the Professional Committee meeting.
• Successfully meet annual sales target for Training courses providing regular feedback on performance to Head of Events and Training Course Committee.
• Work closely with our Marketing Executive to prepare detailed marketing plans and high-quality campaign content for promoting courses to delegates.
• Total end to end management of course speakers, ensuring these relationships are nurtured and all documentation is processed promptly and accurately.
• Ensure that all courses are accessible and organised to Society standards.

• Ensure every Emergency Department and Critical Care unit has a suitable bereavement suite
• Ensure that bereavement boxes are available at each of these hospitals
• Ensure that immediate bereavement support is available for all affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide a professional counselling service and other therapies for those affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support to individuals who witness the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support and training to professionals from any sector who may be affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• To advocate and campaign on behalf of suddenly bereaved families

2wish Cymru and 2wish:

2wish has been established since 2012 and has grown from strength to strength. During tis time, we have worked tirelessly to embed our service and ensure that the offer of support is made at the point of death.

We offer an immediate, consistent, high-quality and compassionate service to all individuals affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under in Wales and the bordering counties in England, including; Cheshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Avon and Somerset, with the plan to continue to roll out support to the whole of England. We work in partnership with professionals who refer int the charity on behalf of families, so they don’t have to trawl through the internet for an organisation who may, or may not, be able to support. We provide immediate, and ongoing, support and are here for as long as our families need us.

Context of role:

2wish support anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We provide immediate casework support, as well as ongoing aftercare services including counselling, alternative therapies, play therapy, support groups, support events and a respite cottage.

We are looking for a strong leader to manage the bereavement service including the operational delivery of immediate support and counselling and therapeutic support services, this includes the line management of the staff responsible for delivering this service.

We are proud of what we have achieved in Wales and the excellent service provided everyday by the support team. We are looking for a nurturer with experience of managing projects and service delivery with the ability and drive to motivate and support a varied and talented team.

Main duties:

Safeguarding Leadership & Case Management

• Act as the first point of contact for all safeguarding concerns raised internally or externally.
• Assess, triage, and respond to safeguarding concerns involving vulnerable bereaved parents, carers, siblings, or young people.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with GDPR and 2wish policies.
• Liaise with statutory agencies (Social Services, Police, Health, Education) to ensure appropriate information‑sharing and coordinated responses.
• Ensure timely escalation of high‑risk cases to the senior leadership team.

Support to Families & Vulnerable Individuals

• Provide trauma‑informed safeguarding guidance to staff supporting families in crisis or acute grief.
• Monitor risks associated with complex family dynamics (e.g., domestic abuse, substance misuse, mental health crises, self‑harm, suicidal ideation).
• Offer safeguarding input into family support plans, therapeutic work, and follow‑up services.
• Contribute to safer engagement strategies for young people attending support sessions or activities.

Safeguarding at Events

• Work closely with the Events Team to ensure risk assessments for fundraising events account for vulnerable beneficiaries in attendance.
• Provide on‑the‑day safeguarding cover at key events when required.
• Support staff and volunteers in managing disclosures or concerns arising during events.

Policy, Procedure & Compliance

• Support the development, review, and implementation of safeguarding policies in line with national legislation, regulatory guidance, and best practice.
• Ensure compliance with Charity Commission safeguarding expectations.
• Conduct audits and spot checks to assess safeguarding practice across 2wish services.
• Contribute to risk assessments, incident reviews, and continuous improvement processes.

Training & Capacity Building

• Deliver safeguarding training and briefings to staff, trustees, volunteers, and sessional workers.
• Promote a confident safeguarding culture where concerns are recognised early and raised promptly.
• Support onboarding processes to ensure all staff and volunteers understand their safeguarding responsibilities.

Partnership Working

• Build strong relationships with safeguarding boards, local authorities, health boards, schools, and referral partners.
• Represent 2wish multi‑agency meetings, strategy discussions, and case conferences.

General:

• To be responsible for organising own work agenda, time management and administration
• To show respect and sensitivity for the cultural and religious beliefs of families
• To undertake learning opportunities and seek them out for the team
• To adhere to all company policies and procedures including Safeguarding, Confidentiality,
• Health and Safety and Lone Working; and to be proactive in implementing new safe working practices as appropriate
• To attend weekend and evening community events in support of the charity as necessary

What we do for you:

Contract type: Permanent and full-time

Hours: Normal office hours are 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday, although alternative hours may be worked with line manager agreement. Work outside office hours may sometimes be necessary and will be compensated for by time off in lieu.

Annual leave: 28 days plus bank holidays. Annual leave steadily increases after five years of service. Annual leave and statutory holidays are calculated on a pro rata basis where applicable.

Pension: 2wish operate a contributory pension scheme. 2wish will auto-enrol you into the scheme in accordance with it’s auto-enrolment obligations. Full details of the scheme will be provided to you once you are enrolled, including the minimum level of contributions that you will be required to make during your membership (current contributions – employer 3% and employee 5%).

Mileage: A fixed rate allowance is payable for agreed mileage undertaken on 2wish business in a private vehicle, over and above your usual journey to your workplace/s.

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic, creative, innovative team player to join our Young People and Families Service. This role will be based in Wales (Cardiff office) and the South West of England, but will also support service delivery across UK.

As a Young People and Families Worker you will work with colleagues, partners, healthcare professionals, schools, volunteers, and - most importantly - young people and families to co-plan, deliver and evaluate a high quality, holistic support offer, both locally and nationally.

You will help young people living with arthritis to build their confidence, make friends and achieve their personal goals. This will be achieved by providing one-to-one support, creating a community of peer support for young people and families and working with volunteers to co-deliver self-management activities on a variety of topics.

You will also co-design an exciting program of social events, youth voice opportunities, digital content and residential events. You will act as the bridge between young people, their families and professionals - especially in healthcare settings where you will play a unique role working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to meet a range of needs. You will support young people during the pivotal transition from paediatric to adult services, making sure it is a time of empowerment and growth.

About you

If your knowledge, skills and experience include the following then we would love to hear from you:

• Experience of working with the third sector, preferably within the fields of youth/community development work and/or health and social care - with a passion for improving the lives of both children and young people as well as their families.
• Experience of delivering interventions to people living with long term conditions, understanding the importance of self-management.
• Experience of taking a person-centred approach when providing support.
• Experience of using a community development/youth work approach to co-design and deliver a quality service/project that is inclusive, inspiring and makes a difference. Engaging colleagues, funders, supporters and partners to make it happen.
• Knowledge and experience of safeguarding and safe working policies and procedures.

We’re looking for an experienced fundraiser and team leader to join us as Head of Development (maternity cover). Overview of key areas of responsibility:

Leadership

• Provide line management support and supervision to wellbeing workers (e.g. counsellors, practitioners, therapists, link workers and trainees).
• Work alongside a team of leads to support the running, development and management of the service.
• Lead induction, mentoring, and training of new staff, trainees, and volunteers.

Core Clinical

• Carry out individual general counselling assessments of children and young people and make appropriate referrals.
• Provide guidance and oversight for complex or high-risk cases.

Safeguarding and Risk

• Build strong relationships with schools, health services, local authorities, commissioners, and community partners.
• Represent the service at local and regional forums, influencing CYP wellbeing strategies.

Qualifications, knowledge, and experience

• More than 2 years post-qualified at graduate or post graduate level Counselling Diploma or equivalent [of two years minimum duration including personal counselling or psychotherapy].
• BACP Registration or Accreditation and/or other eligible Professional Accreditation e.g. UKCP/HPC.
• Strong team-management and line-management experience is required, including demonstrated experience in supervising, developing, and supporting staff.
• A good level of understanding in therapeutic or counselling theory and practice and working to short-term models.
• A sound understanding of child developmental processes, Child Protection and Vulnerable Adult Safeguarding issues and procedures, along with proven experience in safeguarding young children.
