About the role

We are currently looking for a Custody and Probation HAWk worker to be based in a Prison Establishment and Probation Delivery Unit (PDU) to support The Probation Services objective in reducing reoffending.

In this role you will be assessing clients’ housing needs and take action to prevent homelessness by;

• Supporting clients to retain existing accommodation or to relinquish tenancies to avoid accruing rent arrears and debt.
• To support clients who will be homeless on release to access appropriate accommodation.
• Working alongside The Probation Service to achieve set interventions to prevent homelessness.
• Working as part of a larger team based across 10 prisons and multiple probation offices.
• The post requires the successful candidate to be in prison establishments 4 days a week in prison and 1 day a week at the PDU.

About you

We are looking for someone who has:

• Some experience of working with ex-offenders and people who are homeless/at risk of becoming homeless.
• The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency team within the prison and probation environment and to maintain effective relationships with external agencies.
• The ability to work flexibly in a changing and often challenging environment.
• The ability to work to agreed deadlines and targets.
• The ability to cope with clients with multiple needs, who may display challenging behavior.

Salary: £34,692 per annum (inclusive of £3,990 Southeast Weighting)

This role will be based in HMP Bronzefield, leading the development and delivery of specialist domestic abuse/family & significant other support with women impacted by the criminal justice system.

Key Responsibility Areas

1. Lead on developing an effective domestic abuse/family & significant others intervention for women impacted by the criminal justice system
2. Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to addressing women’s needs
3. Provide expert advice and support to colleagues, including Women in Prison’s influencing team
4. Provide effective leadership to direct report/s, ensuring teams are managed and supported.

Shift Pattern: 37.5 per week Monday to Sunday on a rolling rota between 07:30 - 21:00, including evenings and bank holidays. You may be required to work outside these hours depending on resident and service needs.

We're hiring a Mental Health Recovery Worker to join our team based in Enfield. In this role, you will support residents with complex mental health needs. Offering 21 beds in a 24 hour supported accommodation to adults with complex mental health needs. We are here to promote independence and give our residents the tools needed to fulfil their lives in the community independently.

As a Mental Health Recovery Worker, you will play a key role in supporting individuals on their journey to recovery, reablement, and rehabilitation, providing person centred and trauma informed support in a psychologically informed environment (PIE), to empower residents to achieve their goals and improve their well-being. Here, you’ll support individuals transitioning from complex care or acute mental health services to a structured rehabilitation setting. Working closely with the mental health trust community rehabilitation team, you’ll help residents overcome challenging behaviour's and support medication compliance, making a real difference every day. You will support us continue to work in a trauma informed way, and create a psychologically informed environment, which supports us in creating a safe, respectful, and responsive environment which puts our people and communities at the forefront.
