As the Financial Accountant, you will oversee the accurate recording of accounting entries and lead the production of subsidiary financial statements. You will act as the organisation’s technical expert on accounting standards and the primary lead for VAT and Corporation Tax.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce subsidiary accounts and support the Group Financial Reporting Manager with consolidated year-end statements.

• Prepare and submit quarterly group VAT returns and manage relationships with external tax advisors and HMRC.

• Act as the functional administrator for the finance system, driving improvements and providing staff training.

• Administer investment portfolios, scholarship programmes, and fund accounting.

• Lead and develop a Finance Administrator, specifically providing mentorship through their apprenticeship programme.

• Manage the fixed asset register, intercompany reconciliations, and lead on cash flow monitoring.

Essential Requirements:

• CCAB (ACA or ACCA).

• Experience working as a Financial Accountant in a charity or membership organisation. 

• Proven experience in reporting and consolidation for a group of entities.

• Strong Excel and system skills.

• Ability to present complex financial data simply to non-finance stakeholders and boards.

This is a senior operational role suited to someone with large-charity experience, a strong commercial mindset, and the confidence to manage a high-volume, high-value caseload in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll oversee a team of three Legacy Officers, providing expert guidance, coaching and performance management while maintaining accountability for a portfolio of around 900 active cases. Alongside this, you’ll personally manage approximately 50 complex and contentious matters, including litigation-related cases, ensuring Marie Curie’s interests are protected through robust decision-making, cost-benefit analysis and close collaboration with our legal team.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, support and develop three Legacy Officers, ensuring high performance, quality assurance and clear progression pathways.
• Hold oversight and accountability for 900+ legacy cases, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely administration.
• Manage a personal caseload of 50 complex and contentious matters, including litigation, disputes and reputationally sensitive issues.
• Work closely with the legal team, executors, solicitors and co-beneficiaries to protect Marie Curie’s entitlement.
• Apply strong commercial judgement, undertaking cost-benefit analysis and making informed decisions on behalf of the charity.
• Monitor KPIs, SLAs and quality standards, ensuring consistent excellence across the team.

Skills & Experience Needed

• Demonstrable experience managing contentious and complex legacy cases, including litigation and dispute resolution.
• Advanced technical knowledge of wills, probate, trusts, tax and estate administration across multiple UK jurisdictions.
• Strong commercial mindset, able to assess risk, analyse costs and make confident, informed decisions.
• High-volume caseload management experience, with exceptional organisational skills and the ability to prioritise under pressure.
• Excellent stakeholder management, able to influence solicitors, executors, co-beneficiaries and internal teams.
• Exceptional attention to detail, especially when reviewing legal documentation, estate accounts and financial information.
• Strong systems capability, ideally with experience using FirstClass4 or similar legacy administration platforms.

As Community Project Coordinator, you will be part of a dedicated team overseeing the efficient day-to-day operation of our Pet Food Bank project and wider community-based initiatives. Working closely with the Community Project Lead, you will help deliver projects that improve the lives of people and pets, with dignity at the heart of everything we do. This includes supporting a national network of pet food banks and partners, increasing awareness of Blue Cross, and ensuring practical, compassionate support reaches pet owners in short term crisis.

More about the role

This is a home-based role within Oxfordshire, ideally located within one hour of our Burford offices, as you will be required to travel to Burford on a weekly basis to manage deliveries at our Warehouse. Due to the rural location and less frequent public transport, travelling by car is often the most practical option. While the role is home based, you will be contractually attached to the Burford site. Travel to Burford will therefore be treated as normal commuting and expenses will not be payable for travel to this site.

Working across a defined geographic region, you will support the development and smooth running of the Pet Food Bank project and other community initiatives. This will involve close collaboration with pet food banks, suppliers, local authorities, community groups and volunteers to ensure effective coordination, communication and logistics.

You will secure donations of pet food and services, oversee the movement of food and equipment, and regularly travel to food bank partners and other organisations. A key part of the role involves liaising with volunteers and colleagues by phone and in person, ensuring everyone is supported, informed and working together effectively.

Alongside core project delivery, you will support the planning, preparation and delivery of a large-scale summer event in June 2026, working in partnership with one of our corporate partners. This event will play an important role in expanding our outreach and support for pet owners in need. You will also provide essential administrative support, contribute to reporting, and help deliver a clear and effective communication plan to support project and event activity.

Occasional travel to other partner organisations or Blue Cross locations will be required. Travel to locations other than your attached Burford site will be claimable in line with Blue Cross expenses policy.

You will act as a positive ambassador for Blue Cross, ensure policies and procedures are followed, and support the Community Project Lead with income delivery and media activity where required.

NRC UK was established in 2020 with the main objective of strengthening the profile, outreach, and impact of the Norwegian Refugee Council as a humanitarian organisation in the United Kingdom. We work to leverage relationships with UK foundations, corporates and private philanthropists to secure funding that enables NRC to deliver its mission and improve the lives of people displaced by conflict.  We also work to influence stakeholders and partners in the UK in order to influence their humanitarian policies and practices.

You are likely to be in the early stages of your career, interested and experienced in humanitarian work and ready to lend your hands-on organisational and administrative skills to to enable the advocacy and fundraising work of the UK Director, the Private Partnerships Special Adviser and the rest of the core team based in the London office.

You will bring enthusiasm and ability to work confidently and independently with guidance and supervision on a range of external-facing administrative tasks including communications, relationship management, note-taking and record-keeping, desk research & analysis and event organisation.

These tasks and responsibilities will support NRC UK in the implementation of our strategy and action plans on private fundraising and external engagement and will also provide support to the Director in delegated areas on a full range of activities in the UK including advocacy, institutional funding, strategic partnerships, compliance and office management.

Please note this role is offered at 80% of FTE (4 days per week).

Responsibilities

1. Support the Private Sector Partnerships Specialist Adviser (50%) and the UK Director (50%) to deliver on key tasks required in order to meet NRC UK’s private fundraising and broader objectives. 

2. Provide administrative support to the Specialist Adviser on tasks necessary to meet fundraising targets, including communications and relationship management, prospect research, due diligence, meeting and event organisation. 

3. Provide administrative support to the UK Director including communications, organising and attending both external and internal meetings and events, taking notes and minutes, research and analysis, document preparation and coordinating input into internal reports including the annual report. 

4. Provide additional ad-hoc administrative support to the NRC UK team as required. 

5. The Officer will be required to execute existing workplans and meet objectives and deadlines with oversight and support from Adviser and Director. 

Qualifications

• 3 years of progressive professional experience (preferably within the UK Third Sector) in business development, advocacy, fundraising and/or general administrative duties 
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Politics, Law, Communications, International Relations or a relevant field.  Equivalent experience will be accepted instead of qualifications. 
• Demonstrable experience in prospect research and ability to identify partnership opportunities based on criteria provided by NRC 
• Demonstrable interest in humanitarian issues, with clear understanding of ethical and principled humanitarian approaches. 
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal

Job Title: Support Mentor

About the Role

We're hiring a Support Mentor to join our women's service based in West London. In this role, you will support residents whom reside within our refuge accommodation which includes women and children surviving domestic abuse many of whom are living with trauma. We are looking for someone who really cares about the rights of women and their children to join our service in West London. 

As a Support Mentor, you will support in providing a much needed safe space and support for women, for them to feel empowered in their healing journey and feel secure in their independence, strengths, and skills. You will work alongside various stakeholders and partners and engage with our residents through various key working activities to identify the needs, goals and skills, then provide pathways, support, and appropriate interventions to support with successful outcomes. We are seeking a passionate, driven and motivated colleague to lead this service in a trauma informed and inclusive way. 

Some Key Responsibilities Include:

• Support women and children who may be facing challenges with surviving domestic abuse many of whom are living with trauma.
• Create tailored support plans through one to one sessions, group sessions, and multi agency meetings
• Support residents to achieve their desired goals/outcomes in various ways
• Empower residents to make decisions to take control over their lives, by creating an enabling environment.
• Supporting residents to build independence and progress in their healing through engaging activities, from movie nights and arts and crafts to brunch club and fully funded day trips.
• Monitor residents’ wellbeing, carrying out regular welfare checks, and responding to any incidents or emergencies
• Work closely with the rest of the team to provide overall excellent service delivery, this may mean also supporting with their caseloads, and other tasks as necessary
• Keep support plans updated on our online portals as appropriate
• Recognise signs of deteriorating mental health, physical health, or other health implications and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent crisis or other risks.

About You

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Mentor to join our team based in West London who understands the needs of our residents including particularly around multiple and complex needs, including safety, emotional support, healing from trauma, independence and access to resources to achieve their goals. Our Refuge works to support women with complex and enduring needs and women who experience domestic abuse to reclaim their power and find their voice. You will be keen to support our residents to achieve their individual goals and support them to be the best versions of themselves and will work as part of a team to deliver exceptional support to women and children at a particularly challenging time in their lives. 

• Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds and/or a good understanding of the sector, particularly around multiple and complex needs
• Experience working with, or a good understanding of, domestic abuse and the systemic barriers faced by women.
• Ability to show empathy and compassion to our residents, and different challenges they face
• Ability to engage with people from different backgrounds, build rapport, and empower them to achieve their personal goals
• Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs
• Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents
• Ability to promote the service and provide outreach-based provision, with an ability to liaise and work effectively in partnership with stakeholders

Job Title: Night Concierge

Location: This role is based across two locations around 30 minutes from each other in Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC)

Salary: £23,700 (Full Time Equivalent)

Shift Pattern: 33 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, shifts are overnight on a rolling rota ranging between 21:00-09:00, working on average 3 days a week which may mean weekly hours vary slightly. You will be required to work weekends and bank holidays as part of a rota, in line with the needs of the service.

About the Role

We’re looking for a calm, reliable and friendly Night Concierge  to join our team based in RBKC (Royal Borough Kensington and Chelsea) to support our residents who have multiple needs including with daily living, mental health, substance and alcohol use, homelessness, and/or offending backgrounds. You’ll help create a safe, welcoming and well run environment overnight, offering reassurance and practical support to residents when they need it most. This role is key to ensuring our services remain secure and responsive throughout the night. You’ll carry out regular safety checks, monitor access, respond to emergencies, and provide helpful handovers to the day team. You’ll also support residents with any queries, maintain clear records, and help keep the environment clean and safe. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Ensuring our buildings are safe by monitoring, completing welfare checks and responding affectively and appropriately to emergencies
• Maintaining professionalism and kindness with visitors, attending to calls, managing deliveries and ensuring great communication with the team
• Providing clear morning handovers with key updates on residents, AINMs, incidents, or safeguarding concerns
• Remain alert and monitor CCTV throughout the shift
• Working with the wider team to make sure any urgent issues are picked up and followed through
• Adapting to service needs to support risk assessments, safeguarding checks, and service standards
• Supporting residents to build confidence and independence, contributing to a psychologically informed space where everyone is treated with respect and dignity
• Noticing when someone might be struggling with their physical or mental health, and taking prompt action to prevent escalation
• Helping to keep the environment clean and welcoming from tidying communal spaces to reporting repairs and completing admin tasks accurately and sensitively
