About the Role

As a Community Engagement and Training Officer you will recruit and manage engagement and fundraising volunteers and working collaboratively with the operational management to promote and raise awareness of the local service by engaging with the wider community.

The position is for two days per week (15 hours) and these can be worked flexibly across the week in agreement with your manager.

This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement. Cranstoun is an independent charity and leading provider of specialist treatment, harm reduction and recovery services to those affected by drug and alcohol use. This is an exciting opportunity to become a Key Worker within our high performing psychosocial drug and alcohol service in HMP Birmingham. 

We provide a range of services for those affected by drugs and alcohol. Our skilled and compassionate team work closely with people who use our services to change and save lives. We combine proven expertise in treatment and recovery with innovative approaches and actively involve those we help in improving the design of the services we provide. 

You will be based in our psychosocial team working with adult males (over 18 years old). You will be responsible for delivering a range of elements of our substance use work including case management, assessments, care planning, the delivery of one-to-one interventions to include harm reduction and motivational work, group work, and engagement support as well as other associated duties. You need to be committed to supporting people who use our services to make positive changes to prepare them for release into the community, and you will arrange continuity of care. You will work in collaboration with the clinical team and integrated working is a key element of this role. You will work within the prison setting and contribute towards the wider prison drug strategy.

Having experience of supporting people with complex health needs including substance use, you will bring knowledge and commitment to deliver drug and alcohol treatment. You will have a non-judgemental attitude and a desire to support the lives of people who use our services to be healthier and safer by delivering a high-quality service. 

Experience of working with drug and alcohol use is essential. You will be a competent communicator, with the ability to work independently and be comfortable and enthusiastic, both with the highlighted client group and working in partnership with other service providers. Previous experience or knowledge of working with individuals on opiate replacement treatment, and/or involved in the criminal justice system will be advantageous.

SANE is a UK-wide mental health charity working to improve the quality of life of anyone affected by mental illness. It aims to raise awareness and understanding of all mental health conditions; fight to improve frontline mental health services for individuals and carers; provide support, information and guidance through SANEline, our Call Back service, email and text support; and promote and host research into causes, treatments and therapies through its Prince of Wales International Centre for SANE research.

We are looking for people interested in providing compassionate support to people affected by mental health problems. This includes supporting people with severe mental illness, and carers, families and friends. In this role you will provide confidential emotional support by telephone, email and text.

This role provides valuable practical experience in providing emotional support to vulnerable people. Working within SANE support services requires a high level of empathy and emotional resilience as well as excellent communication skills. SANE takes take pride in providing a nurturing and supportive environment for both our staff and volunteers. Role Overview
The Talent Set are delighted to partner with RNIB on a fantastic Head of PR & Strategic Communications role.

In this role, you will deliver a strong narrative that breaks down the social barriers faced by people with sight loss, and champions RNIB as the leading sight loss charity. You will spearhead a strategic, creative and insight-driven approach to media, PR, corporate communications and celebrity engagement whilst also leading a strong reactive response to deliver against the external engagement roadmap and manage risk and reputation for RNIB.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead RNIB's media, PR, corporate communications and celebrity engagement strategy, delivering strategic priorities and strengthen brand credibility, awareness and relevance. 
• Play a key role working closely with the Strategic Marketing team to align strategy, narrative and key messages to effectively attract, influence and engage priority audiences with the cause and charity.
• Build strong relationship with Insight and Policy and Campaigns to co-design insight-led strategies and shared approach to emerging issues.
• Ensure effective monitoring, measurement and evaluation of PR, media and corporate communications activity to ensure continual improvement in quality and reach. 
• Oversee the continuous development of an effective engagement programme with celebrities and content creators to support RNIB’s work and increase reach and engagement with priority audiences
• Lead on a thought-leadership programme across multiple platforms, that strongly establishes RNIB leaders as credible experts.

Person Specification

• An experienced, strategic and motivational leader with clear vision and direction and proven ability to lead teams and work effectively with peers.
• Senior level experience in a senior strategic communications role, successfully leading external communications and reputation management within a complex / diverse organisation.
• Significant knowledge of the national media, consumer, regional and specialist media, a strong awareness of UK news agenda and emerging issues and media opportunities.
• Significant experience leading proactive and reactive media relations that deliver against strategic priorities and enhance brand reputation.
• Experience of providing strategic advice to, and influencing, senior stakeholders, including the handling of sensitive situations, which may have a negative impact on the reputation of an organisation.
• Experience of developing and leading complex and high-risk communications strategies.
• Proven ability to develop high performing teams using skills in recruitment, development, succession planning, change management and performance management.
• Strong communication, influence and negotiation skills and the ability to form successful working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including colleagues, journalists and celebrities.

What you'll do:
* Lead the production of the PPE, FA investments, grant and interest Look Ahead Care & Support (LACS) and Group consolidated notes.

* Lead the annual year end audit process for the subsidiaries including liaison with the external auditors.

* Prepare regulatory returns to the Regulator of Social Housing, including the annual FVA, annual grant returns and quarterly disposal returns.

* Prepare and submit quarterly VAT, CIS and ONS returns on behalf of Look Ahead & Look Ahead Developments Ltd.

* Lead on the gift-aid calculations and Tax Return preparation for Look Ahead's subsidiaries.

* Manage the fixed asset register, ensuring additions, disposals and depreciation and grants are correctly posted and reconciled.

* Maintain up to date Asset Liability Register.

* Act as a strategic finance business partner to the Property Services Directorate, providing financial insight - producing reports and analysis, and challenge across all capital projects, operational repairs and maintenance initiatives.

Hereford Cathedral is recruiting a Visitor Engagement Assistant to join its Visitor Engagement Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract funded by the Cathedral Sustainability Fund. This varied, people-focused role will support the cathedral’s ministry of welcome and help provide an excellent, inclusive experience for visitors, pilgrims, volunteers and group organisers.

Working closely with the Visitor Engagement Manager, you will welcome visitors, support the Box Office Desk, assist with ticket sales and bookings, coordinate group visits and visitor activities, and help keep visitor areas and information well presented. You will also support volunteers on duty, including Guides, Museum Volunteers and Welcomer Volunteers, through rotas, communication and day-to-day guidance.

The post is 19.5 hours per week on an alternate-week pattern: 10:00–17:00 Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday one week, then 10:00–17:00 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday the next. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required, with time off in lieu for agreed overtime.

Salary is £23427 (FTE) per annum, with an 8% employer pension contribution. Our Advocacy services

We provide advocacy direct to children and young people in a variety of situations. Advocates around the country support children and young people to get their voice heard in decisions about their lives. Coram Voice provides visiting advocacy services to most of the secure units nationally, to Secure Training Centres, Juvenile Young Offender Institutions, psychiatric hospitals, residential special schools and children’s homes.

About the Role

We are looking for an Advocate to join our team in London. We are seeking applicants who have transferable skills, a willingness to learn, a desire to promote the rights of children and young people or already have an IAP City and Guilds Level 3 or IAQ City and Guilds Level 4 in Advocacy.

You will work directly with children and young people in, and on the edges, of care, providing them with advocacy support in the community and a variety of settings.

You will empower and support them to ensure their voices are heard within decision–making processes that effect their lives.

You will be a capable ambassador for Coram Voice with the ability to engage effectively with professionals, carers, other stakeholders and most importantly children and young people.
