Project management office lead jobs
Ambition Aspire Achieve is seeking an exceptional, values-led Chief Executive to lead our much-loved children and young people’s charity into its next chapter.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a practical, relationship-based and strongly rooted Newham charity that makes a real difference to children, young people and families facing disadvantage, vulnerability, SEND, disability or risk.
Founded in 2016 by Kevin Jenkins OBE, Ambition Aspire Achieve has grown from a small number of projects at the Terence Brown Arc in the Park into a well-established charity working across Newham. Today, AAA supports nearly 1,000 children and young people each year through its hubs, with many more reached through outreach, schools-based work and community programmes.
Our work is grounded in the belief that every child and young person should be able to enjoy their childhood, overcome barriers, build confidence and develop the skills and self-belief to achieve positive futures. We deliver a broad programme of support including after-school clubs, holiday programmes, youth clubs, SEND activities, mentoring, outdoor learning, sports, family days, residentials, detached youth work, schools-based youth safety work, community events and targeted family support.
This is an exciting and important moment in AAA’s journey. Following a period of growth, the charity is now focused on consolidation, quality and long-term sustainability. We are financially stable, well regarded and deeply rooted locally, with strong relationships across funders, schools, corporate partners, local agencies and community organisations.
The next Chief Executive will provide clear, steady and values-led leadership, working closely with the Chair and Board of Trustees. They will lead and support the staff team, strengthen organisational sustainability, maintain and develop partnerships, champion safeguarding and inclusion, and ensure children and young people remain at the heart of every decision.
As AAA does not currently have a dedicated senior fundraising post, the Chief Executive will also play a central role in securing and maintaining the income needed to sustain and develop the charity’s work. This will include trusts and foundations, statutory funding, corporate partnerships, individual donors, appeals and wider supporter engagement.
We are looking for someone who can combine strategic leadership with practical operational understanding. You may already be a Chief Executive, or you may be an experienced senior leader ready to step into your first Chief Executive role. What matters most is your ability to lead with clarity, care and resilience; build trusted relationships; secure income; uphold strong governance; and keep AAA’s values at the centre of how the charity works.
AAA’s values are Committed, Caring, Collaborative and Creative. We are looking for a leader who can live these values, promote a positive and inclusive culture, and help ensure AAA remains strong, responsive and ambitious for the children, young people and families who need us most.
This is not a turnaround role, but it is a significant leadership opportunity. The successful candidate will inherit a respected and impactful charity with strong foundations, while also leading it through a more challenging external funding environment and into its next phase of development.
To provide children and young people in the London Borough of Newham with fully inclusive experiences and opportunities to flourish.

Who we are
Chefs in Schools is a young, ambitious charity that’s rapidly growing. Our mission is to improve kids’ health, through improving school food & food education. We focus our efforts in areas of high socio-economic deprivation, where more than a third of children are entitled to free school meals, and diet-related disease is driving further inequality. We support and train school kitchen teams to serve the best, freshest and tastiest food possible, alongside meaningful food education. We share learning and resources, aiming to inspire and enable others to follow our lead. We’re backed by some of the biggest names in food and have ambitious targets to ensure every child has access to incredible school food and food education, setting them up for life with the skills and knowledge to feed themselves well.
About you and the role
This role is responsible for the delivery and continuous improvement of the Chefs in Schools Transformation Programme across London, the South East and East of England. Through this programme, we transform school lunches, upskill kitchen staff, and integrate food education into the heart of the school culture, ensuring that high-quality, scratch-cooked meals become the standard for every pupil.
As a Chef Trainer, you will act as a pivotal, hands-on ambassador for this mission, supporting kitchen teams, school leadership and the wider school community to embed a high quality, sustainable school food culture in schools. A key component of this role involves being based in schools for a few weeks at a time, working directly on-site to implement the programme and upskill kitchen teams. You will travel to different locations across London, South East and East of England, supporting schools to build high-quality, sustainable food cultures.
The responsibilities, skills and experience listed below are intended to give you an idea of what we need for this role. If you don’t meet every requirement but feel you would be able to work with us to deliver the majority of them, we urge you to apply anyway. We are dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive workplace, and for us the most important ‘experience’ is passion for our mission.
We want to get to know you at the interview and understand we can do this best if you’re at ease. We’re an inclusive employer and work hard to create a welcoming working environment for everyone, including appointing a neurodiversity champion to help us identify how we can make our work environment work for everyone. If you need adjustments to the interview process please let us know.
As we work with children and young people, an offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory references and DBS clearance, in line with our safeguarding policy.

Working closely with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees, the postholder will play a central role in delivering our current strategic priorities and shaping the next chapter of Sister System as we develop our future strategy beyond September 2027.
This is a significant opportunity to help shape a growing, values-led organisation founded on co-curation, sisterhood, race & gender equity and the belief that girls and young women should be active architects of the services, systems and opportunities designed for them. With oversight of financial management, people and culture, compliance, risk and organisational infrastructure, the Director of Operations will lead on empowering & ensuring that our internal culture and ways of working reflect the same care, accountability, ambition and empowerment that sit at the heart of our model.
The role will be instrumental in translating our founding vision into strong, sustainable practice, ensuring Sister System is equipped to grow its impact while remaining deeply connected to the voices, experiences and leadership of the girls and young women we exist to serve.
Our Charity:
Sister System exists to ensure that care-affected girls and young women are not defined by the systems they have experienced, but are supported to recognise their strengths, shape their futures and access the same opportunities as their peers.
Our culturally competent, co-curated model works alongside girls and young women aged 13–24 through a long-term journey of support, progression and leadership. Across three interconnected stages, we provide trusted relationships, mentoring, therapeutic support, education, leadership development and pathways into employment. Our approach recognises that meaningful change takes time, consistency and a community that continues to believe in her.
Founded with girls and young women, not simply for them, Sister System places their voices, experiences and ambitions at the heart of everything we do. Through our growing hub-and-spoke model, we are expanding our reach while also influencing the wider systems, services and institutions that shape their lives.
Our ambition is not only to improve individual outcomes, but to demonstrate a better way of working with care-affected girls and young women—one that is relational, culturally responsive, asset-based and built around what they tell us they need to thrive.
As Sister System enters its next phase of growth and prepares to shape its future strategy, we are seeking an experienced and values-led Director of Operations to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is an exciting opportunity to strengthen the people, culture, systems and infrastructure that will enable our organisation—and the girls and young women alongside us—to achieve even more.
Our Vision:
A world where empowered girls reach their potential through equitable opportunities.
Our Mission:
To bridge the gap between care-affected girls and young women within mainstream society by working alongside them to ensure they have the same opportunities that everyone else has – at home, school, work and within our communities.
Our Values:
- COLLABORATIVE
We co-curate programmes with our Sis-Stars. We seek powerful partnerships. - EVIDENCE-BASED
We build trust and respect within our sector. - MASTERFUL
We aim for excellence as standard and share our learning. - SOLUTION-FOCUSED
We innovate to overcome challenges with a long-term goal in mind. - TENACIOUS
We are not afraid to take a stand and push for change.

This role combines direct energy advice for residents with day-to-day team leadership. It would suit an experienced advisor who is ready to take on additional responsibility, support colleagues and help maintain high standards across Selce’s award winning energy advice services.
This is an exciting opportunity for a practical, compassionate community professional who wants to help households reduce energy costs, improve comfort at home and build resilience during a challenging time for many residents. Trusted, face-to-face advice in people’s homes is central to the role, particularly for households at risk of fuel poverty who may need impartial support to access the help available to them.
As an experienced Home Energy Advisor, you will carry out home visits across Greenwich, Lewisham, Bromley and Bexley, as well as providing advice by telephone and at community events. You will tailor practical support to each household, helping residents use energy more efficiently, reduce bills where possible, and keep their homes warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
You will be a confident communicator and empathetic listener, able to understand the specific challenges faced by vulnerable households and respond with clear, positive and practical solutions.
Alongside advice, you will help residents install simple energy-saving measures such as LED bulbs, draught excluders and radiator reflectors. You will also signpost households to wider support, including funded retrofit measures, financial and debt advice, and health and wellbeing services.
This role would suit someone who is organised, proactive and motivated by making a tangible difference to local people. You will be comfortable working independently in residents’ homes, collaborating with colleagues and partners, and contributing to a community-led organisation committed to a fairer, greener future.

As Advice Team Lead, you will help ensure our advice services are delivered to a consistently high standard. You will help coordinate, motivate and support staff to deliver quality services and achieve agreed targets and objectives.
Experience of people management is desirable, but the role may also appeal to an experienced energy advisor with strong technical knowledge who is looking to develop supervisory skills and support holistic service delivery across related advice areas.
Excellent organisational and communication skills are essential, along with a solution-focused approach and an understanding of how to motivate individuals to succeed. You will bring a positive, collaborative approach to leading a team and working with others to achieve wider organisational goals.
The Role:
· Provide clear, practical and impartial energy advice to residents, tailored to their individual circumstances, through home visits, telephone support and outreach events.
· Deliver home energy support to vulnerable residents, including low-income households, older people, disabled people and families with young children.
· Use initiative and sound judgement to identify residents’ energy-related challenges and recommend appropriate solutions.
· Install simple energy-saving measures in homes, such as LED bulbs, draught excluders and radiator reflector panels.
· Support householders to access additional help, including funded retrofit measures, financial and debt advice, health and wellbeing services, and other relevant support.
· Advocate for householders with energy suppliers where appropriate, helping residents to resolve issues, reduce costs and access available support.
· Recognise safeguarding concerns and follow organisational safeguarding procedures, escalating concerns appropriately.
· Handle sensitive personal data safely and confidentially in line with organisational data protection policies and procedures.
· Complete accurate records of all resident engagement, support provided and outcomes achieved using the appropriate systems.
· Manage a diary of appointments, visits, meetings and outreach activity, ensuring visits and calls remain focused while demonstrating empathy and understanding.
· Work effectively with Selce colleagues, partner organisations and community groups to deliver joined-up support for residents.
· Act as Team Lead for Selce’s energy advice team, providing day-to-day guidance, encouragement and practical support to advisors.
· Support advisors to manage caseloads, prioritise work appropriately and deliver timely, high-quality support to residents.
· Provide mentoring, coaching and informal supervision to energy advisors, helping colleagues develop confidence, knowledge and good practice.
· Monitor service quality, casework standards and resident outcomes, identifying improvements and sharing learning across the team.
· Contribute to planning, reporting and performance monitoring for funded projects and wider advice work, helping the team meet agreed targets and objectives.
· Support induction and training for new advisors, including sharing technical knowledge, service procedures and safeguarding expectations.
· Work closely with the Operations Manager to escalate risks, resolve operational issues and support continuous improvement.
· Develop and maintain relationships with local partners to support regular referrals into the project.
· Maintain awareness of wider local support networks and make appropriate referrals to services that can assist residents with their wider needs.
· Monitor and maintain stock levels of materials, tools and equipment, ensuring they are used safely and kept in good order.
· Carry out administrative duties accurately and to a high standard, including data inputting, paperwork and reporting.
· Promote the project within the community, including through energy advice cafés, events and other outreach activity.
· Work towards agreed goals and targets with a minimum of supervision, while contributing actively to the wider team.
· Provide excellent customer service and maintain a friendly, respectful and positive approach with all clients and partners.
· Comply with all organisational policies, procedures and systems, and actively promote a positive image of Selce.

About South East London Community Energy
South East London Community Energy (Selce) was born in 2014, when a group of people living in Greenwich & Lewisham became so concerned about climate change that they decided to come up with a formula that would help to create a clean and just energy future.
Throughout our first ten-years, we have set up projects that address inequality and seek to reduce our collective carbon footprint at different points in the energy systems.
To date we have built 12 solar arrays on community buildings in SE London and 11 buildings’ lighting systems to be more energy efficient. We are opening share offers this year for further lighting system upgrades and solar arrays on community buildings.
We’ve helped well over 4000 house holds with their energy bills and we are pleased to now be able to help homeowners make their homes more energy efficient through the Love Lofts and Future Fit Homes pilot programmes.
About Our Energy Advice Services
Almost one in ten households cannot afford to heat their homes adequately. Our award winning team of energy advisors provide practical guidance and support to households who are struggling to pay their fuel bills. They advise clients about how to reduce their fuel bills by switching suppliers or accessing discounts or changing behaviour or by fitting small practical energy-saving measures such as low energy light bulbs and draft proofing. They also support the householder to access funded home energy improvements such as loft, cavity wall insulation or heating upgrades.

About Us
The Wildlife Trusts are a grassroots movement of people from a wide range of backgrounds and all walks of life, who believe that we need nature and nature needs us. We have more than 945,000 members, over 33,000 volunteers, 4,100 staff and 600 trustees. There are 46 individual Wildlife Trusts, each of which is a place-based independent charity with its own legal identity, formed by groups of people getting together and working with others to make a positive difference to wildlife and future generations, starting where they live and work.
Every Wildlife Trust is part of The Wildlife Trusts federation and a corporate member of the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts, a registered charity in its own right founded in 1912 and one of the founding members of IUCN – the International Union for the Conservation of Nature. Taken together this federation of 47 charities is known as The Wildlife Trusts.
The next few years will be critical in determining what kind of world we all live in. We need to urgently reverse the loss of wildlife and put nature into recovery at scale if we are to prevent climate and ecological disaster. We recognise that this will require big, bold changes in the way The Wildlife Trusts work, not least in how we mobilise others and support them to organise within their own communities.
About You
Can you use your expertise in national media relations and people leadership to help drive nature’s recovery?
Join one of the UK’s best-loved environmental charities and play a pivotal role in inspiring action for nature through impactful national media engagement and brilliant team leadership.
The Wildlife Trusts’ small but highly effective national media team creates billions of opportunities to see each year across print, TV, radio and online media. From shaping national policy discussions through informed commentary on government policy, to sharing inspiring stories from conservation projects across the UK, our work helps ensure the nature and climate crisis remains firmly in the public eye.
Our interviews, expert commentary, videos and press releases contribute to national and international media coverage on topics as diverse as peatland recovery, climate resilience, red squirrel conservation, sea grass restoration and whale sightings. We regularly feature on programmes such as BBC Countryfile, Springwatch, BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, and Channel 4 News, as well as in The Guardian, The Times and a wide range of other national and online media outlets.
In 2025 alone, our team secured around 46,000 media mentions, generating over one trillion opportunities to see. This coverage ensures that we remain at the heart of the national conversation and debate on environmental issues and solutions.
As the nature and climate crises intensify, the need for effective communications has never been greater. We are looking for a strategic, collaborative and creative media professional who can identify and maximise new opportunities for The Wildlife Trusts to increase our reach and impact throughout the national media landscape, while also supporting, developing and empowering colleagues to thrive and grow.
Working together, we will continue to raise the profile of The Wildlife Trusts, build public understanding of the challenges facing nature, and inspire more people to take meaningful action to help halt and reverse nature’s decline. Through compelling stories, trusted expertise and impactful national media engagement, we can help drive the change needed to bring nature back into recovery.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Media Manager with an excellent track record of securing national media coverage, building trusted relationships with journalists, and delivering impactful communications strategies. You will be confident managing reactive media activity in a fast-paced environment while also developing and delivering creative, evidence-led campaigns that engage diverse audiences and inspire action for nature.
This is a senior role with responsibility for leading and developing a small but talented national media team. You will bring experience of managing and supporting others, creating an inclusive and positive team culture where people feel valued, empowered and able to do their best work. Through coaching, guidance and constructive feedback, you will help colleagues develop their skills, grow in confidence, and achieve shared goals.
You will play a key role in ensuring the consistent delivery of high quality, high impact media activity. This will include overseeing the development and proofing of media materials, supporting story and campaign planning, creation and research, and contributing to the effective operation of a busy press office, including out of hours.
Working closely with the Head of Media Relations, you will build an environment where colleagues are encouraged to share ideas, test new approaches, and explore innovative ways to reach and engage audiences. We are particularly interested in increasing awareness of the role that communities and collective action can play in nature’s recovery, and we are looking for someone who shares our passion for enabling people to make a difference.
You will bring significant experience of identifying and developing compelling news stories, features and media campaigns that resonate with a wide range of audiences and national media outlets. Experience of working with policy, advocacy and campaign-led communications and contributing to broader public narratives, including the crafting of responses to political announcements, is also critical to this role.
This is a varied and rewarding role in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly. You will be confident managing multiple priorities, making well-informed decisions and delivering high-quality work under pressure. Excellent organisational skills, adaptability, sound media instincts and a collaborative approach will be essential to success.
Most importantly, you will be passionate about using the power of media and storytelling to inspire action for nature. If you are excited by the opportunity to support and develop others, build meaningful national media engagement, and contribute to nature’s recovery, we would love to hear from you.
