ABOUT THE ROLE 

Team: Delivery/ Infrastructure 

As an Urban Designer, you will use your technical skills and experience to help deliver complex projects. You will work with minimal supervision, using your recognised expertise to produce accurate technical outputs and resources to support co-design activities. One of your first projects will be part of the team engaging with schools and local communities in Bootle, Sefton, to do engagement-led design work to improve neighbourhoods around schools, for active travel. 

Your creative problem-solving skills and technical knowledge will play an important role in supporting the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust’s mission to create high quality and sustainable infrastructure. 

You will work within a multidisciplinary team of designers, engineers, and technicians in the Infrastructure Directorate, as well as colleagues in other Directorates. In the team, you will provide support throughout the design and delivery of projects and programmes that align with the Trust’s strategic priorities. Your work will contribute to creating places that are safe, accessible, and enjoyable for people to walk, wheel, and cycle.

What You’ll Be Doing 

• You will work with internal and external partners, as well as regulatory authorities, throughout each project. This includes facilitation of school and community engagement activities.
• You will use innovative and sustainable design and construction practices in all your work. 
• You will take responsibility for managing straightforward projects. 
• You will use your recognised technical expertise to produce clear and accurate project outputs, and collaborative design activities. 

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning creative ideas into real, positive change. You will help shape safer and more inclusive streets and neighbourhoods. You will work closely with communities and schools to understand their needs and make walking, wheeling, and cycling safer, easier, and more enjoyable for everyone.

ABOUT YOU 

We’re looking for someone who has experience and understanding in the areas listed below. You don’t need to meet every requirement — if you feel you’d be a good fit, we encourage you to apply. 

• You will have a degree in a relevant subject such as Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or another clearly relevant specialism. You can also meet this requirement with two years of experience after your degree, or with five years of relevant work experience without a degree. 
• You will have a working understanding of healthy street design, including inclusive design principles and a holistic approach to creating safe and accessible places. 
• You will have strong communication skills and be able to explain information clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences. 
• You will have experience working on projects that involve meaningful community engagement and codesign with local people.
• The ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and vulnerable adults.  
• You will have experience in using design software programmes such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, PS, AutoCAD and GIS.

During this 12 month contract you’ll learn more about Carers UK and develop your understanding of unpaid carers and the challenges they face. You can also expect to develop your research, project management and customer service skills.

About the Project

The Children and Young People’s (CYP) Community Counselling service is a new Herts Mind Network service, whose aim is to provide accessible, timely and high quality countywide counselling to local children and young people. Our CYP Community Counselling Service will deliver a blend of face-to-face, online, 1:1 and group counselling to enable young people to obtain impactful therapeutic support for the mental health difficulties they are facing, in a way that suits them.

The objectives of the CYP Community Counselling Service are:

• To support the emotional wellbeing of children and young people experiencing mental health issues in Hertfordshire.
• To provide high quality counselling, both face-to-face and online that is tailored to the child or young person and incorporates all facets of their life.
• To promote early intervention and prevention through an accessible and flexible counselling service that champions the strengths and self-resilience of children and young people.
• To work actively, inclusively and collaboratively with local children, young people and their families.
• To be a key partner of the Hertfordshire CYP MHS system, offering and increasing access to community-based help regarding mental health and emotional wellbeing.

About the Role

The CYP Sessional Counsellor post is integral to the delivery of this new community-based clinical service, delivering needs-led, robust and flexible counselling to local CYPF. The postholder will work clinically within the service, delivering group and/or 1:1 counselling either in-person or online. The CYP Sessional Counsellor will deliver a minimum of one therapeutic group or 3 x 1:1 counselling sessions per week. The clinical work of the postholder may take place in varied formats/locations, meeting the needs, requirements and preferences of CYPF accessing the service. The postholder will keep timely, detailed and accurate records, following organisational processes diligently. They will also ensure any concerns regarding CYPF accessing the service are escalated and managed efficiently, keeping the CYPF at the centre of their decision making.

The successful candidate will have a Level 4 qualification diploma or above in counselling, psychotherapy or arts/play therapy AND current registered/accredited/full/qualified membership of one of the following relevant professional bodies (BACP, UKCP, HCPC, BAAT etc.), competency in working within a recognized theoretical framework or therapeutic modality and a minimum of 1-2 years experience working in a therapeutic or counselling capacity with children, young people and/or families.

Operations Director

The ideal candidate

We are looking for a values‑driven operational leader with significant experience in senior operations, systems, or transformation roles. You will bring strong technical capability in designing and embedding systems and processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to produce high‑quality management information for senior leaders and Boards.

You will be an influential communicator who can lead through change, build strong relationships across the organisation, and support others to work in consistent, effective, and collaborative ways. With a strong grasp of governance, risk, compliance, and organisational assurance, you will balance strategic vision with hands‑on delivery. The role

The Operations Director will lead the development, optimisation, and continuous improvement of Action Together’s systems, processes, and organisational infrastructure. Working as part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will co-design, develop, and maintain internal systems and processes that enhance operational delivery and organisational efficiency, ensuring they are fully embedded into day-to-day use with clear ownership, guidance, and effective performance monitoring.

You will oversee core central functions including HR, Communications and Impact, Data Protection and Information Management, and Health & Safety. You will play a key role in internal digital transformation, policy development, risk management, and organisational compliance. You will produce high‑quality management information that supports strategic decision‑making, work closely with Locality Directors to standardise and enhance delivery models. In addition, with reference to our constitution and Scheme of Delegation you will be responsible for supporting governance at Board meetings, and the AGM.

Our Time Charity is seeking an experienced Communications and Social Media Officer to strengthen our digital presence and amplify the voices of children affected by parental mental illness.

This role plays a central part in delivering our communications strategy by ensuring our message reaches families, professionals, funders and partners with clarity, creativity and purpose. You will manage our social media channels, develop engaging and accessible content, support campaign rollouts, and contribute to PR and stakeholder communications that challenge stigma and raise national awareness.

Working closely with the Communications Lead and the wider team, you’ll help shape and share stories that reflect lived experience, ensuring children feel seen, understood, and less alone, and that the wider system better understands the impact of parental mental health difficulties.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in communications, social media, or digital marketing within a charity or purpose-driven organisation who enjoys combining strategy with hands-on delivery, translating complex topics into compelling content, and using insights to grow reach and engagement.

We’re looking for a Community Development Co-Ordinator to join the team. You will support the direct delivery of our community services that supports male survivors to access connection and peer support activities.

You’ll play a key role in supporting clients, either through facilitating our core groups like builders’ yard, drop ins etc. Community development team also provide check ins for clients to keep them engaged and connected with the organisation. The team also supports one off project where required.

Key Responsibilities

Impact Measurement

o Design and oversee frameworks for monitoring and evaluating strategic outcomes.

o Prepare and present impact reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.

o Support the wider staff team in gathering data to inform and underpin the Impact Framework.

 Partnerships Development

o Build and maintain partnerships with RankNet members, other funders, government, and community organisations.

o Negotiate and manage collaborative projects to maximise reach and effectiveness.

 Place-based Programmes 

o Lead the place-based programmes (currently Plymouth and Sunderland) and design frameworks for monitoring and evaluating strategic outcomes. 

o Collaborate with other funders and partners to achieve shared goals. 

o Represent the Foundation at local, regional, and national events that focus on place-based work. 

Community Engagement

o Develop and implement strategies to strengthen relationships with RankNet members, partners, and funders.

Strategic Leadership

o Contribute to organisational strategy, identify emerging trends and opportunities for social impact.

o Translate organisational strategy into clear, measurable objectives, ensuring alignment across teams and programmes.

o Manage strategic risk in relation to funders and partnerships, reputation and delivery, ensuring ethical, inclusive and sustainable practice.

 Advocacy and Representation

o Serve as the public face of the Foundation at funder and partnership events.

o Advocate for causes aligned with the Foundation’s mission.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed, compassionate individual who is passionate about reaching children at scale through our large Central Klub and Schools Work. The role involves Coordinating a large team of committed Volunteers and Line Managing Staff members and organising our large Central Klub, as well as assemblies in Schools. In all these areas you will be cheering your team and the children on, injecting a lot of fun along the way. 

Our vision is to work together with congregations and partners to see lasting transformation, through the love of God, for the most marginalised, unreached children, their families and communities of Leeds. 

37.5 hours per week (we would consider term time only-please state on your application). 

Salary £28,000-£29,000 gross dependent upon experience and qualifications. A Pension is offered in line with the Trusts policy.

The Community Engagement & Participation Coordinator will support SLRA’s participation work to ensure that the migrant individuals and communities we work with influence the decisions that affect their lives. SLRA’s work to influence local and national policy and practice is well established, and the post holder will coordinate our Community Leaders group which meets monthly to discuss issues affecting the lives of migrant individuals and communities and to build power and organise. The Coordinator will ensure that well established partnerships continue to develop and build power, as well as ensure that policy and participation work reflects and responds to any new changes in immigration policy that affects the lives of the SLRA community.

• A deep understanding of how to create accessible opportunities for participation, and the external context SLRA is operating in.
• Experience of community organising work and facilitating inclusive sessions in a diverse group setting. 

SLRA is a well-established local migrant support organisation working with and for refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants who are at risk or in crisis as a result of immigration issues. We provide specialist immigration advice, as well as a broad range of practical, social and therapeutic support services. SLRA also campaigns for a fairer immigration system, local people with lived experience in influencing local and national policy and practice.
