Harris Hill is delighted to be working on behalf of National Parks Partnerships (NPP) to recruit a People Manager. NPP is a small and entrepreneurial organisation that identifies, secures and manages commercial and strategic partnerships for the UK’s 15 National Parks, helping to grow their impact, resources and influence while supporting action on the climate and biodiversity crises. As NPP continues to grow, this is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of its people function and play a key role in supporting the organisation’s development.
The role is offered on a salary of £40,135 FTE (non-negotiable) and is available on a full-time basis, with the possibility of working four days per week. This is a one-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension, and is fully remote, with occasional UK travel required.
Sitting within the Operations team and reporting to the Head of Operations, the People Manager will lead NPP’s day-to-day HR function as a largely standalone HR professional. You will develop and implement HR strategies, policies and processes across the employee lifecycle, providing trusted advice to the CEO, Head of Operations, SLT and line managers. You will lead recruitment activity, support managers with performance, probation and employee relations processes, oversee annual leave and absence, payroll administration and pay awards, and ensure NPP continues to meet its employment, health and safety and data protection obligations. You will also play an important role in developing organisational culture, embedding NPP’s Manifesto, competency framework and behaviours, and ensuring equality, diversity and inclusion remain central to its people practices. Alongside the core HR remit, you will support the wider Operations team with external agencies, suppliers and procurement activity, including maintaining supplier relationships, supporting purchasing processes and ensuring compliance with relevant procurement requirements.
We are looking for an experienced People & Culture professional with a strong track record of developing and implementing HR policies and strategies, managing HR projects, and supporting organisational change, as well as experience leading recruitment processes from job design through to shortlisting and interviewing. You will be a clear thinker, confident decision-maker and excellent communicator who can build strong relationships across an organisation and with external partners. Experience of payroll, EDI, health and safety, procurement or working within a purpose-led organisation or public authority would be advantageous.
To apply, please submit your up-to-date CV by 27 September at 23:59. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to submit a tailored cover letter after reviewing the full job description.
Please note that only applicants with an unrestricted right to work in the UK will be considered for this position.
Please note, only successful applicants will be contacted with further information.
As a leading charity recruitment specialist and a certified B Corp™, Harris Hill is committed to high and ever-improving standards of equitable and inclusive recruitment. We actively welcome applications from all sections of the community regardless of age, disability, gender, race, religion, sexuality and other protected characteristics.

About The London Library
For 185 years, The London Library has stood as one of the UK's greatest literary institutions, inspiring creativity, and ideas. Our esteemed members, past and present, include literary giants like Charles Dickens, Charles Darwin, Virginia Woolf, and contemporary authors such as Kazuo Ishiguro and Sarah Waters. Our collection boasts around one million volumes, a vast eLibrary, and an invaluable postal loans service, making it a sanctuary for those who cherish the written word.

About the Role
The London Library is an independently funded membership organisation. It has successfully achieved its goals to eliminate an operating deficit in recent years, which has included developing and growing its membership, the outreach and access programmes and the care of its collections and archive.
Under an ambitious Executive Team and a strong board of Trustees, led by Chair Simon Godwin, the Library is in the middle of a £7 million capital campaign to transform some of its spaces and allow for a growth in membership and partnerships, underpinning its charitable purpose.
Revenue fundraising is essential, and the team raises income through a patrons programme, grants from trusts and foundations, philanthropic gifts, legacies and a biannual appeal to members.
The Library has developed a major giving strategy, which is attracting regular philanthropic gifts towards programming, collection projects, other revenue costs and the capital campaign.
You will be supported by an active and supportive team and work alongside the Director of Development. A new CRM system, adopted in early 2024, enables enhanced prospect and donation management.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage two important strands of the Library’s Development operation: Trusts and Foundations, and Legacies
· Oversee the Trusts and Foundations strategy and solicitation to maximise grants and income from grant giving bodies, including statutory funders
· With the support of a Senior Development Officer, manage the Library’s Legacy programme, develop and implement strategies to promote legacy giving, steward legacy pledgers and grow the number of legacy pledgers
About You
· Previous trust fundraising experience or transferrable strong persuasive writing skills
· Track record in relationship building externally (clients/donors) and internally (programme delivery staff) including customer or donor care experience
· Track record in meeting income targets in a fundraising setting, or other transferrable setting
· Experience of CRM systems
· Ability to plan, prioritise and carry out work effectively to meet deadlines
· Motivated, collaborative and able to work independently in a part-time role
Why Join Us?
The London Library offers a friendly, hardworking, and inclusive workplace where we strive to support the diverse needs of our team. We welcome applications from all sections of the community and are committed to equality and diversity. Specific adjustments and access needs can be discussed to make this role suitable for you.
If you want to use your skills to help drive the success of The London Library, we would love to hear from you!

Our approach to hybrid working
We recognise the importance of coming together regularly, in-person, as a team, so we can share learnings and spend social time with each other. We also recognise that people need flexibility, and that homeworking enables focused work and can fit well in people’s lives.
We ask all staff to take part in pre-arranged team meetings which take place every six weeks in our office space. We also might ask you to meet in-person with members of your team from time to time, or to be available for face-to- face meetings with clients and partners where this enhances the work.
We assume that this would usually not amount to more than one day per fortnight for people who work full time. We are happy to discuss how this sits in your life. This can be agreed by your line manager.
In addition, because this role involves engaging with and recruiting to a large network of VCSE organisations, the post holder will be required to regularly attend in-person events across England. These are likely to take place around once a month and may sometimes require overnight stays. Travel, accommodation and subsistence costs for events across England will be paid, however, travel to our London office will be at the expense of the postholder.
Please note that our offices are fully wheelchair accessible and that we are committed to making our workplace fully inclusive.
Application guidance
Please submit a CV and answer the questions in the application form to apply.

We are committed to diversifying our team in order to broaden the insight and experiences we can draw on, and to do our work more credibly. In particular, we would welcome applications from older people, disabled people and people who have experienced socioeconomic inequality. Our offices are fully accessible and we are a Disability Confident and an LGBT+ friendly employer.

Job Description
Job title: Fundraising Partnerships Manager
Location: Hackney Bridge, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London (a canalside public destination less than five minutes from Hackney Wick station)
Salary: £40,000-£45,000 FTE depending on experience, pro rata to £24,000-£27,000
Hours: 0.6 FTE (3 days/21 hours per week) with a view to the role expanding to full-time in the future. Office hours are 10am - 6pm with occasional evenings and weekends. Flexible working opportunities are available.
Who are The Outrunners?
The Outrunners are a running and movement charity based in Hackney, on a mission to empower young people through movement. Backed by an incredible crew of volunteers and partner brands like Nike and Moju, we help young people in East London to build confidence, wellbeing, health and leadership skills.
We deliver free, fun, sociable, youth‑led running and movement sessions for 8–18 year olds every week - during term time and holidays. But we’re about more than just running. We also create space for young people to explore creativity and culture, go on exciting trips, access wraparound wellbeing support, and develop the skills and opportunities they need to shape the futures they want.
Over the past five years, we’ve supported thousands of young people and helped push greater diversity within the running world.
We like to do things differently - taking young people out of their everyday environments and into exciting new spaces, opening doors to opportunities they might not otherwise have access to. If that sounds like something you want to be part of…read on.
Our achievements
We’re a small charity but we pack a mighty punch. Our income has grown year-on-year since we became a charity 6 years ago - allowing us to expand our core team and move into office premises large enough to incorporate a Youth Hub. Last year we worked with over 1,150 young people through our school and communities programs, and this year we’re looking to expand our work even further!
To give you a sense of the kinds of work that we do, over the last year we have:
Hosted a free Girls’ Festival for 100+ ethnically diverse young girls, allowing them to try running sessions, creative classes and yoga experiences in a safe and empowering environment.
Hosted free training Academies for ethnically diverse women and young people aged 16-21 to train for their very first half or full marathons! We offered physical, emotional and logistical support throughout their training journey and cheered on every single one of them as they ran either the Hackney Half or the London Marathon under The Outrunners name. Since programme launch, we have worked with over 250 people in our Academies.
Took diverse groups of young people to races and events, such as Hackney School Run and Black to the Trails.
Offered personalised mentoring to several of our young people who were struggling with school or life.
Expanded the career horizons of young people by offering them free work experience opportunities with our partner brands.
What do we want?
We are looking for an experienced Fundraising Partnerships Manager to help drive the next stage of growth at The Outrunners (current annual income circa £350k). This growth will enable us to expand our after-school and holiday programmes reaching more young people where they are, building their confidence and skills.
Reporting to the CEO, you will lead our brand and corporate partnerships fundraising strategy and delivery, securing and growing relationships with values-aligned brands and businesses who share our belief in the power of movement to transform young lives.
This is a strategic and hands-on role. You will identify new partnership opportunities, develop compelling proposals, and build long-term relationships that generate income, opportunities and experiences for the young people we support.
You will translate the lived experiences, energy and impact of our young people and programmes into compelling partnership opportunities that generate income, engagement and meaningful experiences for both our young people and partners.
