About the team
The Philanthropy Team raises income for Impetus and for Impetus partner charities. The team consists of 15 staff. Impetus has an annual income of c.£11 million which we are looking to grow significantly within the next few years. The team is led by two Directors of Philanthropy and Partnerships.
The Philanthropy Team works with major donors, corporates and grant making trusts, as well as collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to ensure we make a compelling case to generate new financial commitments and wider support for our work. About this role
The Development Director (Philanthropy) provides strategic leadership across Impetus’ philanthropy and stewardship portfolio, with responsibility for relationship management, renewal, growth and selected new business activity. The postholder will work with high-value funders, including corporate partners, trusts and foundations, and high-net-worth individuals.
In 25/26, the Philanthropy and Partnerships team generated £11m in philanthropic income, alongside £2.8m in pro bono contributions. The Development Director will play a key role in delivering Impetus’ growth ambitions, supporting the increase in philanthropic income to £14m by 2029.
Working closely with the Directors of Philanthropy and Partnerships, the role will translate the fundraising strategy into clear stewardship, renewal, relationship-growth and selected new business plans, ensuring strong donor retention, high-quality engagement and sustainable growth in high-value income.
Working closely with the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships, the postholder will oversee the donor lifecycle across the philanthropy portfolio, with particular focus on strategic stewardship, renewal, relationship growth and the effective transition of selected prospects into long-term donor relationships. They will personally lead and support significant six and seven-figure donor relationships and selected funding opportunities, while working with colleagues to ensure the philanthropy pipeline, stewardship plans and account management disciplines are strong.

Sightsavers is looking for an experienced and strategic Head of Major Donor Fundraising to lead the next phase of growth for our high value individual giving programme. This role can be worked full time or part time, with a minimum of four days per week, and is UK based with regular travel to our Haywards Heath office.
As part of the Fundraising and Marketing directorate, you will develop and deliver a long-term major donor strategy, lead a specialist team and personally manage a focused portfolio of high value donors and prospects. Take ownership of your own professional development, using the annual training budget to attend relevant training, events, and sector learning opportunities that strengthen your contribution to Routes and the wider sector
There are some areas of responsibility that sit under the other Co-CEO, but we would expect the person in this role to maintain some oversight or involvement in to enable smooth co-working between the roles. These are:
Safeguarding: Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) when required, ensuring Routes meets its safeguarding obligations and that staff and volunteers are appropriately supported
Finance: Attend and contribute to monthly finance meetings, planned by other Co-CEO, maintaining a clear understanding of the organisation's financial position and flagging any concerns to the Co-CEO and board
Governance: Attend board meetings, providing updates on areas of responsibility and supporting the board to fulfil its governance function
Person Specification
Experience
Experience in a senior leadership role within the charity, social enterprise, or public sector
Demonstrable experience of managing and developing staff, with a coaching and supportive leadership style
Experience of income generation in a charity or social enterprise context, including either grant fundraising, corporate partnerships, or programme sales
Experience of designing or overseeing monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks and producing reports that communicate impact clearly
Experience of managing operational and governance responsibilities, including policy development and working with a board
Experience leading teams in challenging, fast-changing and resource-constrained environments
Experience of working with or for communities facing marginalisation, discrimination, or structural disadvantage, and a deep understanding of the barriers refugee and asylum seeking women face in the UK
Skills and Knowledge
Ability to balance day to day operational oversight with long term strategic planning, ensuring that Routes’ work remains in line with values and objectives whilst responding to the changing needs of participants and the external landscape
Strong written communication skills, with the ability to write compellingly for different audiences
Financially literate, with the ability to read and engage meaningfully with management accounts and budgets
Highly organised, with the ability to manage a broad and varied portfolio without dropping the ball
Comfortable working with data, both quantitative and qualitative, and using it to draw meaningful conclusions
Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to build trust quickly with a wide range of stakeholders including funders, corporate partners, board members, and colleagues
Sound understanding of CIC/charity governance and good practice, and the ability to make confident decisions independently while knowing when to consult
Values and Approach
Deep personal commitment to gender equality, racial justice, and the rights of refugees and asylum seeking people
Understanding of the importance of implementing trauma informed practices and a commitment to accessible working practices for all

Additionally, it would be desirable for you to be trained as a Designated Safeguarding Lead, but training on this can be provided.

We know that leadership experience takes many forms, and that people from marginalised communities, including those with lived experience of the asylum system, are often underrepresented at senior levels in the charity sector despite having exactly the qualities and understanding this role requires. We have an exciting opportunity for a Media and Communications Executive to join Save the Children UK's Strategic Communications department on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Working across our Global Impact Communications and UK Impact Communications teams, you'll help support and deliver media and communications activity that brings children's experiences, rights and needs to wider public attention. From helping ensure team processes run efficiently and effectively to researching stories and compiling messaging, you'll contribute to communications that secure meaningful coverage, amplify children's voices and help inspire change for children in the UK and around the world.

They support advocacy for change in policy, practice and systems, promote international cooperation, and help grow public engagement and funding—driving action to protect every child's right to experience a safe, healthy and happy childhood.
About the role
As the Media and Communications Executive you will support advocacy, public engagement and fundraising by helping to secure media coverage, amplify the voices of children and families, and share stories from across Global and UK Impact with UK audiences.
You will provide day-to-day support to the Global and UK Impact Communications teams, helping deliver timely and engaging communications that raise awareness and inspire action for children. The role also offers flexible support across different projects and priorities as needed.

Location & Ways of Working:
The majority of our roles can be performed remotely in the UK, but at times you will be required to come to your contracted office (usually between 2–4 days per month, depending on the needs of your role, team, or service). This is an exciting opportunity to join Chance to Shine’s fundraising team and help shape the next phase of our growth. The Trusts and Foundations Officer is responsible for securing and growing income from charitable trusts and foundations through the development of funding applications, effective stewardship, and high-quality reporting. The role offers the chance to build funder relationships, contribute to ambitious fundraising plans, and play a key part in enabling more young people to benefit from the power of cricket.
The role would suit a dynamic fundraiser looking to develop their skills and knowledge within an established and ambitious charity.
You may already be working in fundraising or the charity sector, but we would also encourage applicants from other sectors with transferable skills to apply for this position. You could come from a communications, marketing, research, bid writing or relationship management background. If you are a strong writer, enjoy building relationships, can make sense of different types of information and are organised in managing deadlines and detail, many of your skills could transfer well into this role.
This is a London Office based contract. A minimum of two days a week in the office would be required with the option to work from home on the other days. The role holder will need to be flexible as and when they are required to attend meetings, events, mostly in London but elsewhere around the country.
