Shift Pattern
A typical week consists of two shifts. Each shift begins at 9:30am and finishes at 11pm, followed by an overnight sleep-in. The shift then resumes at 07:00am and finishes at 12:00pm the following day. This entire period is classed as one shift. Sleep-ins are a requirement of the role and attract an additional payment. Flexibility to work bank holiday is also required in line with the needs of the service.
In this role, you will:
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients in the service at all times possible, including using safeguarding and emergency alert procedures where applicable
• Carry a caseload of clients for whom you will be the named key worker, and you will also take joint responsibility with your team members for the well-being and day to day support of all clients in the services
• Lead on risk and needs assessment and support planning for your key clients and contribute to ongoing needs and risk assessment of other clients in the service
• Develop and implement SMART outcomes based support plans for your key clients
• Deliver one-to one and group support opportunities within their accommodation and in the local community aimed at increasing resilience in the clients we work with
• Proactively work in partnership with multiple agencies including statutory teams, to support the well-being of Depaul clients in accordance with data protection and information sharing protocols
• Adopt a flexible, reflective and creative approach in your engagement with clients and personalised in your support to them
• Involve clients in the decisions made about them and encourage participation in Depaul’s wider community programme of activities

About the role:
We are looking to appoint a Family Support Worker for a fixed term period of up to 12 months, on a full-time basis (35 hours, 5 days per week) to deliver a high-quality family support service as part of our Kentown Team to families in the local area, at a time where they need it most.
Reporting to the Family Support Manager of the Kentown Team and working in partnership with health, education and social care professionals, you will take responsibility for providing needs-led emotional, social and practical support to families where a child/young person has a life threatening or terminal illness. You will enjoy responsibility for managing your own schedule, remaining flexible to the needs of the families on your caseload.
Having worked in a demanding and emotional environment you have a genuine interest in building supportive relationships and helping people; and having provided bereavement support to families, you understand processes of grief, loss and change - and how best to help others deal with its impact.

As part of our learning and development Anne Harris Skills Development Programme, we aim to provide a high level of training and development opportunities for all staff, so you are able to perform to the best of your ability, achieve individual and team objectives aligned to Rainbow Trusts strategic plan, supporting staff to be their best and feel a valued member of a high performing organisation.
Our Family Support Teams are given the opportunity to complete a number of diverse training courses in their first 12 months, including but not limited to: Mental Health First Aid, Makaton, introduction to play, drawing and talking training.
The programme aims to provide a building block for you to individually tailor your own learning and development needs.

For families living with childhood illness, time is everything. Right now, there are too many families coping alone with no support, no time to think, no time to make memories and no time for each other. We believe that no family should go through this alone, so we are here to change that.

Provide operational support to our sports clubs that enables them to both fulfil and host British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) fixtures against other universities, including the organisation of transport, facility bookings, registering individuals and teams for competitions, submitting results, and hiring of officials.
Be the first point of contact for all queries from students and other universities in relation to club administration and fixtures.
Provide effective training to students on using the BUCS play system and using the system effectively to ensure fixtures and team sheets are accurate.
Ensure that finance processes followed for all fixture related expenditure. This includes raising PO numbers, processing invoices, making credit card payments, using online payment systems and the ability to keep accurate financial records.
Be first of point of contact for student queries on reception when required.
Actively participate in meetings, personal development, and training events where there is a clear link to our strategy, your role or personal development.
Ensuring that statutory and legal obligations are met.
Ensure our financial sustainability by adhering to all financial procedures and processes of the Students’ Union.
Promoting the Students’ Union’s various policies within your work, in particular Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity, Ethical, and Environmental.
Contributing to the positive image of the Students’ Union with students, the University and the local community.
Working across the Union to share skills, improve capability or capacity and in support of service delivery.
Be flexible in your approach to work, ensuring you can work at any site as required, and unsociable hours as required to enable us to fulfil our mission.
