About the Role

Allsorts Youth Project is looking for a Senior Practitioner to join our Youth and Education Service. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our youth coaching and schools programmes, supporting LGBTQ+ children and young people across Sussex.

You will lead a team delivering high quality coaching support, helping young people build confidence, achieve their goals and recognise their strengths. You will also oversee our schools programme, working with education settings to promote inclusion and improve outcomes for LGBTQ+ students.

The Role

Your time will be split across three core focus areas:

• Digital Marketing & Communications: Execute our marketing strategy and audience growth priorities across all digital channels. Craft engaging monthly newsletters and use digital communications to build strong relationships with our supporters .  Support the structured growth and marketing of HFTF’s consultancy and paid services to attract, secure and nurture relationships with our partners. Update and manage our WordPress website and core digital channels. Develop, optimise, and  design compelling email journeys for our key services using our digital toolkit, including Ticket Tailor and EcoSend. Supervise our  Communications freelancer (1 day per week) providing supportive oversight for social media content. 

• Individual Giving & Campaigns: Develop communications showcasing our real-world impact through collaborative storytelling to increase our visibility and strengthen audience engagement. Help grow our base of regular individual supporters to increase our unrestricted income. With the Fundraising Manager's support, you will lead digital individual giving campaigns, including the Big Give, to grow our regular supporter base and boost unrestricted income.

• Climate Connect Platform Growth: Expand our digital organising platform into a sustainable paid service for partners, creating a long-term income stream. Design campaigns to increase platform uptake, engage with organisations and communities to actively use Climate Connect, ensuring  a smooth user journey.  Help gather impact case studies for future grant funding, and liaise with external developers to coordinate platform updates and improvements.

As a Nightstop Coordinator, you'll be at the heart of a life-changing service—assessing referrals, coordinating emergency placements, supporting young people into longer-term accommodation, and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of guests and volunteer hosts.

We're looking for a proactive and compassionate professional with experience supporting vulnerable people, strong safeguarding and risk assessment skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with partners, volunteers, and young people. You'll also recruit, train, and support volunteer hosts while promoting the service across local communities.

In this role, you will:

Supporting Young People

• Act as the first point of contact for people experiencing homelessness and referral partners, providing advice and signposting

• Conduct needs and risk assessments with potential Nightstop guests

• Coordinate and manage the logistics of each placement with volunteer hosts

• Work proactively with guests and partner agencies to identify longer-term accommodation options

• Provide ongoing support to guests and volunteers, including participation in a 24-hour on-call rota

• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all guests and volunteers at all times

• Comply with data protection and information-sharing protocols

• Lead on safeguarding actions to protect people with an identified risk

Volunteer Recruitment, Promotion and Engagement

• Promote volunteer opportunities through community networks, local organisations, and online platforms

• Recruit and onboard volunteer hosts in line with safer recruitment practices, including interviews, references, DBS checks, and travelling to complete home assessments in line with lone working procedures

• Assess and make recommendations on applicants’ suitability and contribute to decision-making processes

• Work collaboratively and effectively as part of the wider team with regular travel nationally for team meetings

• Actively participate in regular supervision, appraisals, caseload reviews and team meetings with your line manager and the wider team

• Work within the principles of Trauma Informed Practices, and apply this to your daily work young people, volunteers and also within the team

About You

Flexibility

Independent Domestic Violence Advocate

The Role

As an IDVA you will:-

• Ensure that male survivors’ safety and housing needs are met by supporting survivors to access safe accommodation
• Provide a pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic abuse through on-going risk assessment, individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse
• Promote the service and raising awareness of issues arising, minimising barriers and improving access to support

About You

You will need:

• Experience of providing support those affected by domestic abuse
• An understanding of the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Knowledge of safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
• A good understanding of Housing Law to be able to provide up to date advice and information on housing related needs
• Strong communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals.
• An understanding of commitment to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.
• Strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.

AoD’s Employment Service

The Action on Disability Employment Service is setting the agenda for disability employment across London with great results. We are at the forefront of setting up and delivering supported internships for Disabled young people. We provide an holistic service from management and employer engagement to hands-on, supervised support work across all sites.

Our Employment Service welcomes external referrals and offers support for Disabled people via our in-work support service.

The Post

The purpose of the job is to provide face to face support work and guidance to Disabled people within their workplaces. The post holder will provide the necessary support and encouragement to enable them to be successful, which will lead, eventually, to independence. The post holder will also work closely with, and take guidance from, their supervisor within AoD. They will work closely with the employer of the Disabled person to ensure the employer has the skills and confidence to manage and train their intern/employee.

Main duties and responsibilities

• To work face-to-face with individual Disabled people, under the guidance of their AoD Supervisor, in accordance with their personalised support plans
• To be fully cognitive of the workplace of the Disabled person to identify the requirements of key tasks
• To follow bespoke Support Plans plans which will enable the Disabled person to fulfil their role to meet the requirements of the employer
• To provide weekly feedback to their AoD Supervisor to ensure continued progression, identifying new areas in need of support, and advising on the amendment of support plans accordingly
• Together with their Supervisor, to plan, discuss and implement a timely reduction of support as and when the Disabled individual becomes familiar and competent with their role
• To negotiate note disability-related reasonable adjustments required for individuals and feedback to their AoD Supervisor
• To liaise with managers to discuss individual progress, respond to issues and implement next steps

About the role

As a Psychological Therapist (Crisis Line), you will respond to individuals in high-risk and emotionally intense situations, providing calm, focused and compassionate support. You will use evidence-based approaches such as safety planning, grounding techniques, active listening and structured risk assessment to support people through crisis.

• Provide immediate crisis response and short-term psychological interventions
• Assess and respond to suicide risk, safeguarding concerns and escalating needs
• Develop collaborative safety plans with service users
• Deliver support through phone, online chat and digital platforms
• Maintain accurate records and follow service protocols
• Engage in clinical supervision, debriefs, reflective practice and CPD

About you

You will have a Level 4 Diploma, or equivalent, in counselling or psychotherapy and be a registered member of a relevant professional body such as BACP, BABCP or UKCP. You will bring experience of supporting people in emotional distress or crisis, alongside strong skills in risk assessment, safeguarding and brief psychological intervention.

We are particularly interested in people who can remain calm and effective under pressure, communicate with compassion and clarity, and work confidently within structured protocols in a remote, shift-based service. Experience in crisis helplines, acute mental health settings, emergency services, suicide prevention or digital service delivery would be an advantage.

Working arrangements

This is a fully remote, UK-based role delivered through a rotational shift pattern, including evenings, weekends and nights. The role involves regular exposure to high-risk and emotionally intense situations, with supervision, in-shift support and reflective practice available to support safe and effective working.
