Gresham College is a charity which provides high-quality free education to the public across a broad range of subjects.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
About the role:
Weekends can be a particularly important time in supported accommodation. With fewer services open and less structure around the day, having a consistent, trusted member of staff available can make a real difference to someone’s wellbeing, confidence and ability to keep moving forward.
As a Weekend Support Assistant at St John’s Mansions, you’ll provide practical, person-centred support to residents, helping them build the skills and confidence they need to live more independently. Working from agreed support and risk plans, you might help someone manage their money or accommodation, access appointments and community services, develop everyday living skills or stay engaged with activities and goals that matter to them.
You’ll also play an important role in keeping the service safe and well coordinated throughout the weekend. You’ll respond to changing needs, safeguarding concerns and unexpected situations, maintain accurate records and make sure important information is clearly handed over to the wider team. You’ll need to be approachable and compassionate, while also confident in setting boundaries, using your judgement and knowing when concerns need to be escalated.
You’ll join an experienced team where you can develop your knowledge of supported housing, safeguarding, recovery-focused practice and working alongside people experiencing multiple disadvantage, with access to training, supervision and ongoing development.
We have two roles available, 1x 37.5 hrs per week and 1x 22.5 hrs per week. Exact working patterns will be discussed in interview.
About you:
- You can build positive, respectful relationships with people while maintaining clear professional boundaries.
- You’re able to encourage and motivate people to build confidence and independence, rather than simply doing things for them.
- You can stay calm, think clearly and respond appropriately when situations change or become challenging.
- You’re organised and reliable, with the ability to prioritise work, communicate clearly and keep accurate records.
- You understand, or are keen to develop your understanding of, homelessness, mental health, trauma, substance use and the barriers people can face when trying to move forward.
About us:
We’re London’s leading homelessness charity – and we get things done.
In a city where hundreds are forced into homelessness every day, our work has never been more needed or more challenging. And we’re not shying away. We’re rolling up our sleeves to make change and helping over 10,000 Londoners every year. We prevent homelessness, provide safe places to live and give people the opportunity to rebuild their lives and transform their futures. And we never give up.
We’re here for Londoners wherever they are on their journey. We start with trust, building relationships that help people feel safe, supported, and ready to move forward. Every day, we put people first in everything we do, challenging injustice and barriers that keep people from the safety, stability and opportunity they deserve. We stand alongside people as they rebuild and shape a future that feels their own.
Joining Single Homeless Project means joining a team that’s bold, compassionate and determined to do better for the people we support and for each other. You’ll work alongside colleagues with lived experience, in a space that’s trans-inclusive, disability-friendly, and actively striving to be anti-oppressive and equitable.
We’re not perfect, but we’re real. We listen. We learn. And we push forward, together. Because this isn’t just a job. It’s a chance to lead with empathy, spark change, and help build a London where no one is left behind.

At The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, accurate, accessible and well-managed data underpins everything from supporter stewardship to the delivery of ambitious fundraising campaigns. We are looking for a proactive and solutions-focused Senior Database Officer to help colleagues get the best from our fundraising CRM, strengthen data quality and support our ongoing transition to Raiser’s Edge NXT.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative Data and Fundraising Operations team at a time of significant growth. You will combine technical database work with stakeholder support, training and process improvement, helping colleagues use our systems confidently and effectively.
You do not need to know every system we use from day one. If you have strong data manipulation skills, enjoy solving complex problems and can quickly develop expertise in new technology, we would love to hear from you.
What makes this opportunity different
This role offers more than traditional database administration.
Our Data and Fundraising Operations team acts as the technical lead for many of the Charity’s systems and technical projects. Alongside developing your knowledge of Raiser’s Edge NXT, you’ll have opportunities to broaden your experience across Excel, Access, SharePoint, APIs, data integrations, reporting, automation and system implementation.
You’ll be joining a collaborative and supportive team where you can deepen your CRM expertise while developing a broader understanding of data, systems and digital processes within fundraising.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll help colleagues across the Charity get the best from our fundraising CRM and data by:
- Providing day-to-day support and troubleshooting for Raiser’s Edge NXT users
- Supporting fundraising teams as they move from Raiser’s Edge 7 to NXT
- Delivering clear training, guidance and practical support to CRM users
- Managing data imports, cleansing, audits and database administration
- Monitoring data quality and improving how supporter information is recorded
- Working with stakeholders to understand their needs and improve systems and processes
About you
You may already be working as a Database Officer, CRM Officer or charity data specialist and be ready to take the next step in your career.
You’re curious, proactive and solutions-focused. You enjoy investigating data and system issues, working with complex datasets and finding practical ways to improve processes. Just as importantly, you enjoy working with people and can explain technical information clearly to colleagues with different levels of confidence and experience.
You’ll bring:
- Proven ability to learn new systems quickly and develop advanced knowledge
- Strong data manipulation skills using Excel, Access or comparable tools

About the role:
Feeling safe shouldn’t stop mattering when the day team goes home. At St John’s Mansions in Islington, you’ll provide a calm, consistent and reassuring presence throughout the night, helping to make sure clients feel safe, respected and supported in their home. You’ll often be the first person someone turns to if something goes wrong overnight, so the way you respond can make a real difference.
As a Night Support Assistant, you’ll take responsibility for the safe and secure running of the service during your shift. You’ll manage access to the building, complete regular patrols and health and safety checks, monitor security, respond to safeguarding concerns and emergencies, and provide a first response to clients who need help. You’ll also support emergency placements where required and make sure significant incidents, concerns and actions are recorded clearly and handed over to the day team.
This is a role that calls for sound judgement, resilience and the confidence to stay calm when situations become challenging. At times you may be lone working, with buddy arrangements and SHP’s out-of-hours management support in place. Throughout your work, you’ll take a person-centred, psychologically informed and strengths-based approach, balancing safety and appropriate boundaries with dignity, choice and independence.
We have two Night Support Assistant opportunities available: one working four nights per week, Monday to Thursday, and one working three nights per week, Friday to Sunday, night shifts are 10pm - 08.15am. Whichever pattern you join, you’ll be part of the wider St John’s Mansions team, with regular supervision, training and opportunities to continue developing your knowledge and practice.
About you:
- Can build positive, respectful relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds while maintaining clear and professional boundaries.
- Is calm, resilient and confident under pressure, able to assess what is happening, prioritise effectively and respond appropriately to incidents or concerns.
- Understands the importance of safeguarding, health and safety and recovery-focused support, including the ways substance use may affect people’s wellbeing and safety.
- Can work in a person-centred, strengths-based and psychologically informed way, supporting people to have choice and control wherever possible.
- Is comfortable working independently, staying alert throughout a night shift and communicating clearly through accurate records and effective handovers.
