Since 2013, The Childhood Trust has raised over £50 million through our matched fundraising campaigns, enabling us to fund impactful child poverty projects across all London boroughs.

We are seeking a Capacity Building Manager to lead the development and implementation of our organisation-wide funder plus approach -strengthening the support we offer beyond grant funding and helping to build a more connected, resilient and effective sector. This role will play a key part in ensuring our work delivers greater benefit for children, young people and communities across London.

About the role

Sitting within our people and organisational development team and reporting into the senior learning & organisational development manager, you’ll support us with a wide range of administrative duties across the learning & development; people; equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and internal communications & engagement functions.

As the first point of contact for all learning management system (LMS) user and administrative queries you’ll maintain and housekeep our LMS as well as help coordinate and administer internal and external training programmes, workshops and learning events. You’ll also provide administrative support across our core people activities, including invoicing, onboarding, offboarding, and the employee lifecycle processes.

You’ll use our HR management systems to develop and maintain regular people management reports and liaise with the people and EDI teams to ensure employee and training records are updated.

About you

You’ll have experience of working with information systems ideally within a HR function and be able to use an administrative system or database. You’ll have the ability to work as part of a small hybrid team and possess strong organisational skills and excellent written and verbal communications skills allowing you to always work together when in the office or when working from home. You’ll understand the importance of working accurately and with attention to detail within a confidential framework and can plan and organise your own workload.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and qualified immigration advisor to oversee the strategic direction of our casework and systemic work for the coming year.

The Unity Project (TUP) supports people who are facing poverty and homelessness because their immigration status allows them ‘no recourse to public funds’ (NRPF).  We believe NRPF should not exist and we are working to end it. Until then, we seek to minimise its impact by supporting people to make the ‘change of conditions’ (CoC) application to access public funds. As part of this work, we continually develop new casework approaches to make CoCs more accessible to more people. By taking a strategic approach to our casework, we have opened up new routes for people to move through the process, and achieved greater recognition of groups with particular needs. We have also supported numerous strategic legal challenges which have prompted significant changes to the immigration rules and guidance related to CoCs. 

In this cover role, you will lead The Unity Project’s strategic work to improve the accessibility of the CoC process. You will be responsive to changes in the external context and identify strategic priorities to focus on in our casework. You will hold our strategic external relationships, in particular with law firms, advice agencies and Home Office representatives, and you will oversee our strategic litigation support.  You will share our expertise with the sector through second-tier advice, training workshops and peer support forums.  Our strategic work is rooted in direct casework, and so this will also be part of your role. You will be responsible for TUP’s casework provision for applicants who submit their own CoC applications independently, and you will support with other strategically significant cases as required.

Are you passionate about shaping churches to become more welcoming and accessible to newcomers, strengthening local expressions of sanctuary and helping to embed racial justice principles into ministry and practice?

We’re looking for a Sanctuary & Racial Justice Officer to build inclusive communities by helping parishes across Kent become more welcoming, accessible and culturally aware for refugees, asylum seekers and newcomers.

Reporting to the Strategic Lead for Sanctuary & Racial Justice, you’ll coordinate existing Welcome Hubs in Canterbury and help launch new hubs in Folkestone, Ashford and Dover. Working with churches, volunteers, councils and community partners, you’ll strengthen local sanctuary, deliver racial justice training and develop practical tools that embed justice into everyday ministry.

This is an exciting, hands-on, people-centric role with so much variety — part community development, part volunteer leadership, as well as a mixture of training and partnership working.

We’re looking for someone with experience of supporting vulnerable people and working with volunteers, a good understanding of racial justice in practice and strong organisational and communication skills. You’ll be confident working across communities, able to manage multiple priorities and be motivated by seeing people and parishes flourish.

You’ll need to be a practising Christian, have the right to work in the UK, have a full, clean driving licence and the ability to travel across Kent and comfortable working flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends.

The Canterbury Diocesan Board of Finance employs this role on behalf of the Social Justice Network (SJN), a UK-based charity that works to promote social justice, inclusion and support for vulnerable communities. One of SJN’s key initiatives is the Sanctuary & Racial Justice Programme, which works with local authorities, charities and community groups to support and integrate refugee families into their communities. 

The Social Justice Network aims to bring people together. Issues such as low income, debt, lack of skills, poor mental health, forced displacement and isolation are closely interlinked, trapping individuals and communities in cycles of poverty. Our vision is for all churches, in every community, to work together to tackle these issues through action, prayer and giving.

Our Sanctuary & Racial Justice Programmes help individuals and families rebuild their lives after forced displacement. Services include Welcome Hubs, Arts and Wellbeing activities, ESOL classes, employment support and casework. We focus on fostering long-term, meaningful connections with local church communities to restore stability, dignity and belonging. 

It is a genuine occupational requirement that the post-holder is a practising Christian, committed to the faith. This is essential to support and encourage parishes in living out their faith through social action and to engage authentically with the Diocese’s vision and principles in the Sanctuary & Racial Justice Programme.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

Team: Delivery/ Infrastructure 

As an Urban Designer, you will use your technical skills and experience to help deliver complex projects. You will work with minimal supervision, using your recognised expertise to produce accurate technical outputs and resources to support co-design activities. One of your first projects will be part of the team engaging with schools and local communities in Bootle, Sefton, to do engagement-led design work to improve neighbourhoods around schools, for active travel. 

Your creative problem-solving skills and technical knowledge will play an important role in supporting the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust’s mission to create high quality and sustainable infrastructure. 

You will work within a multidisciplinary team of designers, engineers, and technicians in the Infrastructure Directorate, as well as colleagues in other Directorates. In the team, you will provide support throughout the design and delivery of projects and programmes that align with the Trust’s strategic priorities. Your work will contribute to creating places that are safe, accessible, and enjoyable for people to walk, wheel, and cycle.

What You’ll Be Doing 

• You will work with internal and external partners, as well as regulatory authorities, throughout each project. This includes facilitation of school and community engagement activities.
• You will use innovative and sustainable design and construction practices in all your work. 
• You will take responsibility for managing straightforward projects. 
• You will use your recognised technical expertise to produce clear and accurate project outputs, and collaborative design activities. 

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning creative ideas into real, positive change. You will help shape safer and more inclusive streets and neighbourhoods. You will work closely with communities and schools to understand their needs and make walking, wheeling, and cycling safer, easier, and more enjoyable for everyone.

ABOUT YOU 

We’re looking for someone who has experience and understanding in the areas listed below. You don’t need to meet every requirement — if you feel you’d be a good fit, we encourage you to apply. 

• You will have a degree in a relevant subject such as Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or another clearly relevant specialism. You can also meet this requirement with two years of experience after your degree, or with five years of relevant work experience without a degree. 
• You will have a working understanding of healthy street design, including inclusive design principles and a holistic approach to creating safe and accessible places. 
• You will have strong communication skills and be able to explain information clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.

The General Manager will provide leadership and day-to-day operational management for the Natural Voice Network, ensuring smooth running of its activities and services. Working under the strategic direction of the Trustee Board, the General Manager will implement decisions, oversee the Administrator, and manage finances and communications at an operational level.

They will have delegated authority to make operational and financial decisions (within agreed limits) on behalf of the NVN and its Trustee Board, enabling trustees to focus on governance, strategy, and long-term development.

Key Responsibilities: 

Operational Management

- Manage the day-to-day running of the NVN, ensuring all activities are delivered efficiently and in line with the organisation’s values and policies.

- Maintain and store confidential documents and archives.

- Work closely with the Administrator to ensure smooth coordination of membership services, communications, and events.

- Support the development and implementation of the NVN’s strategic and annual plans.

Financial Management

Community Cleanup Champion

About Us 

CleanupUK is a national charity that supports communities in tackling the problem of litter and strengthening community connections. We work directly with people in areas of need to help them clean up and care for their local environment through the creation and support of litter-picking hubs. 

Are you a community-minded person who is self-confident, energetic, reliable and enjoys being outside?   

There are part-time roles available with community litter picking charity CleanupUK, who need help in their mission to engage people in looking after their local environment.   

If you have a few hours a week to spend encouraging local communities and organisations to litter pick, then this could really suit you.    

CleanupUK is recruiting three Community Cleanup Champions to work closely with our partner organisations in one of the following areas, encouraging local litter picking via our Cleanup Hub network: 

• Three roles covering: Birmingham, Thanet and Rochdale. 

Cleanup hubs are spaces to store equipment for individuals and groups in the community to use. By hosting this equipment and loaning it out, Cleanup Hubs are championing volunteering in the community and promoting litter picking. 

CleanupUK provides equipment and promotional support to help Cleanup Hubs get started with litter picking and engaging local people.   

Cleanup Champions work closely with Cleanup Hubs and other partner organisations to encourage more people to get involved in litter picking locally. 

We are keen to find cheerful people, with a sense of fun, who care about the environment and enjoy chatting to people of all backgrounds.   

Main Purpose of the Role:   

• To increase the number of people borrowing litter picking equipment from the Cleanup Hubs in your local area. 

• To represent CleanupUK at a local level by attending litter picking events and supporting the development of the Cleanup Hub network.   

• To develop strong relationships with partner organisations in the community: 

• Supporting existing Cleanup Hubs to increase levels of engagement in their area by contacting new groups. 

• Research and develop potential new partner organisations. 

Key Tasks include:   

• Liaising with Cleanup Hubs and local communities.  

• Hosting and attending events and reporting back to CleanpUK’s Operational Team.   

• Helping to keep active records of the litter picking that is taking place. This includes: ensuring litter picking statistics are being logged online by hubs, taking photos for our social media channels, and making notes on our shared database. 

• Promoting the project locally, both on the ground and online.   

• Online research to help us to identify new community partners, and attending online or face to face meetings with new prospective partners. 

• Attending monthly team meetings online, and an annual face to face day-long team meeting. 

• Developing an awareness of local funding opportunities and communicating these to our fundraising team.

• Occasional support to CleanupUK’s corporate partnership team may also be required such as leading a litter picking for a company.
