The Opportunity

As Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will lead and evolve UWS’ high-value giving strategy, driving transformational income and long-term supporter engagement.

This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on major donor fundraising. You will:

• Lead and deliver the Philanthropy Strategy in line with organisational priorities
• Personally manage and grow a portfolio generating c. £500k–£1m p.a.
• Secure six-figure and multi-year gifts
• Develop compelling, visionary cases for support aligned to UWS’ global education mission
• Work closely with trustees, senior leaders and global colleagues to unlock new high-value networks
• Line manage and develop the Events & Philanthropy Manager, ensuring events are strategically aligned cultivation tools

You’ll oversee forecasting, pipeline development, KPIs and budget management — ensuring philanthropy at UWS is both ambitious and operationally robust.

• A proven track record of delivering at least £500k+ p.a. within major donor programmes
• Personal success securing six-figure gifts
• Experience building and managing strong donor pipelines

• Line management experience or strong coaching capability

Job Purpose

To lead and embed a consistent, high-quality people experience for the organisation’s volunteer workforce across the full lifecycle.

This role is responsible for ensuring volunteers are recruited, inducted, supported through change, and managed in line with organisational policies, values and strategy, while enabling operational teams to lead volunteers day-to-day within their departments.

Key Accountabilities

Volunteer Lifecycle

· Own and manage the end-to-end volunteer lifecycle framework.

· Design, maintain and continuously improve volunteer policies, procedures and guidance.

· Ensure volunteer processes mirror staff approaches where appropriate.

· Act as the subject matter expert for volunteer people matters.

Recruitment, Onboarding & Induction

· Support the volunteer recruitment processes.

· Develop recruitment pipelines and partnerships.

· Design and deliver a robust volunteer induction model.

· Support managers through tools, templates and guidance.

Volunteer Training and Development

· Design and oversee a structured volunteer training framework aligned to organisational values, policies and role requirements.

· Work with departments to identify core and role-specific training needs.

· Ensure volunteers have access to appropriate learning resources to enable confidence and effectiveness.

· Embed ongoing development opportunities to support engagement, retention and succession.

· Enable managers to deliver training locally through guidance and best practice.

Cross-Team Collaboration

· Lead people aspects of change impacting volunteers working closely with the Head of Change.

· Collaborate with departments on role design and expectations.

· Upskill managers through guidance and training.

About You — Skills & Experience

• Experience in a People or Volunteer Management with responsibility for volunteer or workforce lifecycle activity
• Strong knowledge of recruitment, onboarding and development processes and how to create consistent people experiences
• Ability to design and implement policies, frameworks and practical guidance that support managers day-to-day
• Confident working across teams, building relationships and influencing without direct line management responsibility
• Experience supporting organisational change
• Skilled in developing learning and training approaches that build capability and engagement
• Organised and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
• Clear communicator with a collaborative, coaching style

• Experience working with volunteers or within the charity / not-for-profit sector desirable

• We’re looking for an experienced, delivery-focused manager to lead our event-led merchandise trading offer during a maternity cover. This is a hands-on role for someone who can keep business-as-usual running smoothly while delivering pop-ups and two major retail peaks: Welcome and Graduation.
• You will be accountable for planning and delivering our merchandise trading, including trading plans, stock management, supplier coordination, fulfilment, visual merchandising across campuses, and post-event review. About CoppaFeel!

CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. We educate people on the signs of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests monthly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves.

We do this because when diagnosed early, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection can save lives.

Breast cancer does not need to be detected late, and as long as we are here and continue to be supported by people like you, we will do all we can to make sure this doesn’t continue to happen.

The Role

CoppaFeel! is looking for a Senior Healthcare Engagement Manager to oversee the production of high-quality health information and resources and lead on CoppaFeel!’s healthcare engagement work.

The Senior Healthcare Engagement Manager will sit within the CoppaFeel! Education Department and will work closely with the Head of Services and Health Information & Services Manager.

The Senior Healthcare Engagement Manager will be responsible for leading our work in the health engagement space. They will play a key role in supporting the strategic direction of this work and provide insight and sector knowledge to support decision making within the leadership team. This will involve building strong relationships with clinicians and healthcare stakeholders, enhancing CoppaFeel!’s role in the healthcare sector. 

The Senior Healthcare Engagement Manager will have oversight of the production of our health information and resource portfolio. This role ensures that all health resources are accessible, impactful, and trusted, meeting the highest standards, including those required by the Patient Information Forum Tick Accreditation.

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that you will attend the London office 2 days per week. You will also be required to attend the office for quarterly team meetings, department meetings and in person training, we will provide plenty of notice for when you are required to be in for these purposes.

Duties and Responsibilities

Health Engagement

• Work closely with the Head of Services to set the strategy for CoppaFeel!’s work in the healthcare space. 
• Provide vision and direction to support departmental growth in healthcare engagement, ensuring alignment with overall organisational goals.
• Drive the development of new and existing strategic initiatives to engage healthcare professionals, ensuring messaging remains relevant, builds credibility and reflects developments in breast cancer in the healthcare space.
• Work closely with the Senior Policy & Influencing Manager to strengthen links between influencing and the delivery of health engagement initiatives.
• Work closely with the Senior Programmes Manager to support the development of regional engagement work and the development relationships across Cancer Alliances.
• Work collaboratively internally and externally to understand the needs of different healthcare audiences and work with teams across the organisation to develop engagement initiatives that increase knowledge and confidence of breast cancer in younger people.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key clinicians and expert stakeholders to enhance CoppaFeel!’s presence within the healthcare space.
• Lead on the design and delivery of training for healthcare professionals encouraging the integration of CoppaFeel!’s resources into their practice.
• Lead and manage CoppaFeel!’s Medical Advisory Group, ensuring it evolves in line with organisational needs.

Health Information

• Work with the Head of Services to set strategic direction in relation to resources, health information content and the production process.
• Provide expert advice and guidance at both strategic and operational levels on best practice approaches to delivering high quality health information and resources, with a focus on optimising reach and impact.
• Hold responsibility for the continued accurate and consistent development of the charity's Health Information provision.
• Oversee the creation and dissemination of high-quality health information, ensuring it is accessible, accurate, and meets accreditation standards required by the Patient Information Forum.
• Provide direction to the Health Information and Services Manager in development and delivery of a portfolio of materials, resources and reminder services.

Strategy & Management

• Support initiatives to ensure that CoppaFeel! Staff are knowledgeable and up to date with issues around breast cancer in younger people.
• Design and deliver internal Health Information team training across the organisation.
• Line manage the Health Information & Services Manager and the Health & Services Executive, offering guidance, support, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
• Represent CoppaFeel! in media opportunities where appropriate to communicate key health messaging. 
• Work with the Impact & Evaluation manager to ensure robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks are in place to track the effectiveness and impact of our work.
• Collaborate with the Senior Engagement & Inclusion Manager to ensure that all health information and engagement strategies are inclusive, accessible, and representative of diverse communities.
• Manage departmental budgets ensuring efficient use of resources and supporting and informing phasing and re-forecasting. 
• Support the development and implementation of operational plans. Ensuring that projects are tightly managed and delivered on time and within budget .

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Essential

• Extensive experience leading the delivery of health engagement initiatives.
• Proven experience in the design and delivery of education and training for healthcare professionals.
• Awareness of clinical policy and practice changes influencing health care practice and delivery.
• Knowledge of Healthcare professional culture, NHS systems, primary care settings, and breast cancer services.
• Proven experience in developing and writing health information and applying health literacy best practices.
• Strong ability to understand medical information and how this can be translated into clear, accessible messaging.
• Experience managing health information production processes, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
• Experience managing multiple projects with the ability to oversee competing priorities and deadlines.
• Experience managing budgets.
• Experience in line management, with a focus on team development.
• Outstanding collaboration skills with both external and internal stakeholders and ability to manage relationships with confidence.

About the role:

As an IDVA you will:-

• Ensure that male survivors' safety and housing needs are met by supporting survivors to access safe accommodation
• Provide a pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic abuse through on-going risk assessment, individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse
• Promote the service and raising awareness of issues arising, minimising barriers and improving access to support

You will need:

• Experience of providing support those affected by domestic abuse
• An understanding of the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Knowledge of safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
• A good understanding of Housing Law to be able to provide up to date advice and information on housing related needs
• Strong communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals.
• An understanding of commitment to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.
• Strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.

Wood Street Mission is a children’s charity helping children and families impacted by poverty in Manchester and Salford. 

We provide practical help to help meet children’s day-to-day needs and improve their life chances. We give clothes, bedding and baby equipment to struggling families, along with toys and books which are important for children’s wellbeing and development.

We support engagement in education by helping families with the costs of school uniform and run Book Roadshow events in schools to promote reading and improve children’s literacy. We work to raise awareness about child poverty and help thousands of children and their families every year.

We are looking to recruit a Grants and Trusts Fundraiser to join our growing team, as we take Wood Street Mission to the next level. You will be responsible for managing and delivering our Grants and Trusts income stream, developing long-term relationships with funders, and building on our small but successful track record. The Grants and Trusts Fundraiser is a pivotal role in helping us to accelerate our growth even further so we can help more children to thrive free from poverty.

The role is flexible between the office in Manchester and working from home.

Purpose of post

As the Grants and Trusts Fundraiser, you will be responsible for securing grants of varying sizes, translating the charity’s work across our five projects into compelling, high-quality applications for a range of audiences. Working collaboratively with the wider charity team, you will have a hands-on role in understanding our projects to ensure you can authentically convey our mission and our impact to funders. 

You will provide excellent care to existing and new supporters, ensuring reporting requirements are met and that funders are kept informed of how their support has enabled the charity to continue its work.

A key responsibility will be to contribute to and develop the Grants and Trusts fundraising plan. You will work to identify, secure and develop a robust pipeline of grant funders to maximise income and enable continued growth and sustainability of Wood Street Mission’s work.

1. To contribute to and develop the Grants and Trusts fundraising plan as agreed with the Fundraising Lead, to support the charity’s strategy

4. To work closely with the Fundraising Lead and other members of the team to ensure a coordinated approach and excellent level of care for supporters, through appropriate and engaging communication methods

About the Role:

As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will provide pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic abuse through on-going risk assessment, providing individual safety planning, trauma-informed support, guidance, information, and advocacy and enabling victim/survivors to access the services they need in the aftermath of the abuse and trauma they have experienced.

ROLE OVERVIEW

You will be a passionate and ambitious leader with the skills, knowledge and experience to drive Membership retention and growth whilst listening to our diverse membership base to understand the areas that are important to them to help us to support their specific needs in their areas.

You will have a dynamic approach with the ability to combine business development, relationship management, stakeholder engagement and operational oversight to ensure that RLSS UK’s membership thrives and aligns with our purpose, mission and vision.

RLSS UK members include Lifesavers, Lifeguards, Licence to Operate Members, Lifesaving Academy members, Honorary Members and Staff.

 

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Regular communications and support to branches and lifesaving clubs
• Engage with our members to understand their needs and future opportunities to support their roles in their communities and beyond
• Conduct research and horizon scan for new opportunities for our members
• Conduct research to identify and understand potential new members and opportunities to support growth and meet need
• Conduct research to identify and connect with relevant external stakeholders
• Drive new membership onboarding, ensuring a seamless and effective experience
• Ensure clubs achieve and maintain the appropriate accreditation in line with RLSS UK requirements, policies and processes
• Develop an annual plan of community engagement and roadshows with members and non-members to raise awareness of the work of RLSS UK and our members, to recruit new members and share water safety and drowning prevention education and campaigns
• Ensure clear and concise processes are in place to support membership experience, retention and growth
• Work collaboratively with all RLSS UK teams to raise awareness of our awards and qualifications offer. Collaborate to adapt offerings based on member feedback and emerging industry trends
• Develop tailored marketing materials to support our membership offer and recruit new members.
• Represent RLSS UK in meetings with key stakeholders and to share outcomes and impact to further the society’s purpose, mission and vision.
• Respond to membership queries and provide an excellent service together with timely responses
• Support the implementation, update and oversight of the CRM system to improve member engagement tracking and data management.
• Manage data collection processes, including compliance requirements of membership criteria
• Support the development of thought leadership pieces, contributing to annual reports and ensure high-quality written outputs
• Support the planning, organising and execution of events, including membership forums and conferences ensuring seamless delivery and high attendee satisfaction
• Support the development and refinement of directorate strategies
• Lead and deliver an annual membership survey and analysis to produce meaningful feedback
• Ensure that all membership processes and policies are up to date
• Attend the RLSS UK Sports Committee
• Assist with the implementation of the Lifesaving Sport Strategy, and support the growth in participation in Lifesaving Sport events
• Work closely with the Volunteering Team, particularly in relation to volunteers within RLSS UK branches and clubs
• Actively develop initiatives that broaden the demographic diversity of the RLSS UK membership

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead on and support ad hoc projects as required
• Contribute to the successful operation of the charity by undertaking such other tasks as may from time to time be required including all other duties reasonably associated with your role, as directed by the Line Manager.
• Ensure compliance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 by complying with internal information governance policies and maintaining up-to-date documentation as part of RLSS UK’s compliance programme.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Relevant Experience, Skills and/or Aptitudes

• At least 10+ years’ experience in a Membership role
• Significant experience of working at a leadership role level ideally in a membership organisation
• Demonstrable experience of positively interacting, engaging and influencing at all levels including with senior management and external stakeholders
• Demonstrable experience of membership retention and acquisition
• Demonstrable experience of successfully pitching new approaches to prospective members, ideally in a membership organisation
• Demonstrable experience of delivering member-focused solutions within a membership organisation
• Excellent communication, engagement and interpersonal skills
• Excellent presentation, listening and negotiation skills
• Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office applications
• Willingness and ability to travel as required for the role including occasional evenings and weekends

Desirable Relevant Experience, Skills and/or Aptitudes

• Knowledge and understanding of RLSS UK
• Skilled income generator with experience in achieving income targets, possibly with a previous account management background or experience of a similar B2B membership
• Understanding and experience of the application of safeguarding laws
