The Programme Officer will play an integral role in the Impact team within the broader Directorate of Impact and External Affairs. This is a pivotal time for Fight for Sight as we begin to implement our Impact Framework enabling us to communicate the impact of our extensive portfolio of current and past funded research projects to our internal and external audiences.

The role is diverse and varied, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to build their exposure to a complement of grant management activities across our research and social change funding programmes. They will be instrumental in the delivery of our grant funding processes, will work closely with our Grant Assessment Panels and key partners to ensure we achieve the exciting ambitions laid out in our Research Strategy. They will also be expected to track contribute to capturing the Impact of our funding programmes.

• Salary: £28,000 - 30,000 FTE pro rata / £22,400–£24,000 PTE actual (dependent on skills and experience)
• Working hours and contract: 28 hours per week (0.8 FTE) over four days, Permanent
• Location: Hybrid, minimum 2 days per week in our central London based office, one of these days to be a Wednesday, and at external meetings and events as required.

About the role

Our Mentor Services Coordinators are the main point of contact for volunteer mentors throughout their journey with MCR - from their initial enquiry and onboarding, to ongoing support once they are matched with a young person. They carry out in-depth interviews with prospective mentors, arrange training, and coordinate DBS and reference checks, ensuring the entire process is as smooth and well-supported as possible. 

Key responsibilities:

• Providing excellent customer service to prospective and existing mentors using strong communication skills on the telephone, in virtual meetings, by email and sometimes in person

• Ensure all of our volunteer mentors are individually supported and fully engaged at every stage of their mentor journey

• Manage DBS checks and support the ID verification process

You will have worked with people experiencing various aspects of severe and multiple disadvantage: homelessness, substance use, mental health issues, insecure immigration status, prostitution, offending history and children taken into care.

You will have experience supporting women and children affected by violence against women and girls (VAWG), including undertaking risk assessment, safety planning and managing high‑risk cases. You will be confident working with people experiencing severe and multiple disadvantage and skilled in effective multi‑agency partnership working. You will bring a strong understanding of domestic abuse, including the practical, emotional and financial impacts, alongside knowledge of housing, welfare, safeguarding for adults and children, and relevant policy. CXK is the lead provider of Personal Careers Guidance to young people in schools and specialist centres across Kent & Medway, where we provide independent Personal Careers Guidance, via our CXK Young Peoples’ Careers Service.

The Team

We are a diverse and welcoming team of advisers, who use a wide variety of creative methods to deliver personalised, client centred, personal careers guidance, ranging from one-to-one sessions through to group guidance, parents and options evenings, as well as focused talks and assemblies. We have minimal admin and keep our clients’ experience central to what we do, providing an inclusive service with individualised action plans, including the use of visual career maps, career cards and white boards, alongside more traditional approaches where appropriate.

We follow the CDI code of ethics and best practice for Action Planning (which names and recognises CXKs innovative work in this area):

The team is led by Chris Targett RCDP, who alongside his work at CXK, is the current Chair of the Careers Writers Association and co-author of the recently released Career Development and Inclusive Practice book, published by Trotman Publishing in partnership with the CDI.

The Role

The Careers Advisers will cover one or more of the following regions: Medway, West Kent and Mid Kent to a broad range of school and college settings, delivering creative and inclusive Personal Careers Guidance, as well as assemblies and drop-in sessions as required. 

Each student and each learning environment will be unique, so the opportunity lends itself well to candidates who enjoy traveling and working in varied locations, meeting people from diverse backgrounds, and educating people of all abilities.

You will routinely liaise with Careers Leaders and senior school/ college staff to arrange and deliver activities for students during the school day. Whilst most delivery will take place between 8:30am and 4pm, travel before and after these times will be required and occasional attendance at parents’ and options evenings will also be required, but you will be given time off in lieu where this is applicable.

JOB PURPOSE  

The Business Analyst will strengthen how we work by improving processes, systems, and the way we use data. This is a hands-on role, working closely with multiple teams across the organisation to identify challenges and develop solutions that are practical, proportionate, reflect the day-to-day realities of the working environment and are aligned with our values. MAIN DUTIES 

• Collaborate with teams across Service Delivery, Finance, People Services, Income Generation, and senior leadership to identify operational needs, understand challenges, and shape improvements  

• Facilitate workshops and consultation events to build a shared understanding of needs and challenges  

• Co‑produce delivery excellence standards with people who use our services, ensuring their experiences and insights help shape how we design, assess, and improve our work.  

• Document and analyse current workflows across and within teams and identify where improvements can be made.  

• Translate organisational needs into clear, actionable proposals for system or process improvements.  

• Lead organisational change arising from the analysis, working with managers and staff to plan improvements, coordinate implementation, and ensure changes are mainstreamed across the organisation.

We are recruiting for a Shop Supervisor to join our wonderful team and deliver an excellent retail service, ensuring that every customer has a great shopping experience. As a valued member of the Age UK team, you will contribute towards maximising shop sales and profits as well as the successful day to day running of the shop, deputising for the Shop Manager and Assistant Manager in their absence.

The successful applicant will be required to work 13 hours per week including every Sunday. Each Sunday you will be responsible for the management of the store, ensuring it showcases our wonderful donations and taking pride in maintaining a tidy and accessible space for all.

You will support with sales, stock rotation, organising displays, store tidying and much more, whilst representing Age UK in a professional manner and reflecting our core values.

Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to handle/lift bags of stock (up to 10kgs.)

Please note this opportunity will require the successful candidate to work 13 hours across a 7-day working week, including Saturdays and Sundays on a rota basis.
