About Better Society Capital (BSC):
Better Society Capital (BSC) is the UK's leading social impact-led investor. Our mission is to grow the amount of money invested in tackling social issues and inequalities in the UK; we do this by investing ourselves and enabling others to invest for impact too.
Since 2012, we have helped grow the UK's social impact investment market thirteen-fold, to more than £11 billion, proving that impact investing can scale when social outcomes and investment opportunity are genuinely aligned. We have committed more than £1 billion of our own capital to social impact investments and today hold a live portfolio of over 100 across the UK, primarily made into funds spanning early-stage and mature positions, all working towards lasting impact for the people and communities they serve.
We're now delivering our 2026–2030 strategy: mobilising £20–30 billion in capital to positively impact 15–20 million lives across the UK over the next decade. We're focusing our expertise and capital on four challenge areas: housing, economic opportunity, climate and energy, and health. These have been chosen because each combines urgent social need, proven investment models and a clear role for BSC to play.
This is BSC's next chapter. Building on everything we've proven since 2012, we're scaling with greater ambition and sharper focus, and looking for people who want to help shape how we get there.
The Opportunity:
We are recruiting an Investment Manager to take a leading role across BSC’s client investment mandates, playing a central part in how we mobilise capital at scale to deliver lasting social impact.
A significant part of this role is supporting the management of BSC's client investment mandates, including the Schroder BSC Social Impact Trust, a listed investment trust for which BSC acts as portfolio manager, giving investors access to private market impact investments addressing some of the UK's most entrenched social issues. You will support portfolio management, reporting and investor engagement for the Trust, working closely with senior colleagues.
You will own a portfolio of impact investments spanning both BSC's own capital and the mandates we manage for others, taking direct responsibility for how these investments perform against their financial, social impact and systems change goals over time. You will build lasting relationships with fund managers, lead on performance monitoring and reporting, and shape how BSC manages a genuinely broad and varied portfolio across products and asset classes, developing cross-asset-class judgement that few comparable roles offer.
You will also contribute to BSC's client work more broadly, supporting our growing Advisory capability as we help other investors turn their impact ambitions into action through credible, practical investment strategies. This is a capability we are actively building, and you will play a key role in its delivery as it scales.
We invest in our people as seriously as we invest in our portfolio. You will accelerate your growth through hands-on experience, tailored training and collaboration with sector-leading specialists as well as gaining direct exposure to our Investment Committee and senior leadership. You can find out more about our training offer in our Candidate Pack.
What you will do:

Contribute to portfolio-level investment management across our client mandates, helping shape how we think about multi-asset allocation and performance, and building the cashflow, liquidity and return models that underpin these decisions.
-
Bring the analysis and insight behind our client reporting to life, from regulatory reporting and accounts to due diligence questionnaires, giving investors a clear, compelling picture of how their capital is performing.
-
Support engagement with shareholders and clients through investor meetings, roundtables and portfolio updates, and represent BSC at external events, Boards and Investment Committees where needed.
Lead the performance management and manager relationships for a portfolio of social impact investments across BSC’s own capital and client mandates
-
Own a portfolio of individual social impact investments, managing each towards exit and delivering on its financial returns, social impact and systems change goals.
-
Build strong relationships with fund managers, engaging on and helping manage the financial and social impact performance of each investment.
-
Lead analysis of impact and financial performance across your investments, including across asset classes and impact themes.
Support Advisory projects
-
Support delivery of BSC Advisory projects for external investors, from discovery through to solution design and client capital management.
-
Contribute research, analysis and investment expertise to help other investors design credible impact investment strategies suited to their goals.

-
As opportunities arise, contribute to new deals and strategic projects aligned with our 2026–2030 strategy, growing your expertise in origination and deal execution over time.
Help shape the next phase of our market-leading impact investment approach and team
-
Contribute to our impact investing practice and process, in collaboration with colleagues across BSC and with external partners.
-
Champion part of BSC's impact investing approach, or join a working group to deliver a strategic priority.

The service will include a combination of practical facilities such as showers and a laundry, health and wellbeing resources to minimise the harm associated with rough sleeping and support to move into accommodation. We may develop additional aspects to the service as resources become available.
Through a compassionate and proactive management style, you will build a proactive, high performing team who are passionate about supporting very vulnerable women away from the streets. You will enable creativity, and professional curiosity, strengthen resilience, and team well-being to meet the different needs and aspirations of the people we support. You will have a strong knowledge of women’s services, housing options, health inclusion approaches and social care entitlements.
You will be both strength-based and solution focused, maximising and developing partnerships internally and externally to enhance service provision. You will be committed to embedding coproduction, so that service provision continues to improve and evolve. This is hands-on, day-to-day work alongside people experiencing homelessness and multiple disadvantage, where no two days are the same. You’ll build real relationships with clients, supporting them to stabilise, develop life skills and move towards greater independence, while navigating the challenges that can come with housing, health and wider support needs.
As a Project Worker, you’ll be at the centre of the service; working closely with colleagues and partner agencies to coordinate support that genuinely moves people forward. Alongside your client work, you’ll play a key role in keeping the service running safely and smoothly, from maintaining a secure, welcoming environment to staying on top of health and fire safety standards across the properties.
At SHP, this role is a starting point for growth. You’ll gain exposure to complex work, build confidence in your practice and be supported to develop your career in a way that works for you. If you’re looking for a role where you can make a tangible difference every day while growing your skills, you’ll find that here.
About you:
- You build trust quickly and genuinely, working alongside people experiencing homelessness and multiple disadvantage with warmth, consistency and clear boundaries
- You stay calm and practical in busy or challenging moments, able to balance competing demands without losing sight of what matters for clients
- You’re confident working in a property-based service, taking responsibility for creating a safe, well-run environment for both clients and colleagues
- You work well with others, whether that’s your immediate team or external partners, and know how to keep things moving forward
- You’re open to learning, reflective in your approach and motivated to grow your skills in a role that will stretch you
About us:
We’re London’s leading homelessness charity – and we get things done.
In a city where hundreds are forced into homelessness every day, our work has never been more needed or more challenging. And we’re not shying away. We’re rolling up our sleeves to make change and helping over 10,000 Londoners every year. We prevent homelessness, provide safe places to live and give people the opportunity to rebuild their lives and transform their futures. And we never give up.
We’re here for Londoners wherever they are on their journey. We start with trust, building relationships that help people feel safe, supported, and ready to move forward. Every day, we put people first in everything we do, challenging injustice and barriers that keep people from the safety, stability and opportunity they deserve. We stand alongside people as they rebuild and shape a future that feels their own.
Joining Single Homeless Project means joining a team that’s bold, compassionate and determined to do better for the people we support and for each other. You’ll work alongside colleagues with lived experience, in a space that’s trans-inclusive, disability-friendly, and actively striving to be anti-oppressive and equitable.
We’re not perfect, but we’re real. We listen. We learn. And we push forward, together. Because this isn’t just a job. It’s a chance to lead with empathy, spark change, and help build a London where no one is left behind.

Who we are
Coeliac UK is the UK’s only charity for people affected by coeliac disease and everyone who needs to live gluten-free. We provide trusted information and support, champion better diagnosis, improve access to safe gluten free food, and drive the research and advocacy needed to improve lives today while moving closer to a cure.
Our mission is clear: no life should be limited by coeliac disease. Every role at Coeliac UK contributes to that purpose, whether through diagnosis and equality, support and access, research and advocacy, or the enabling work that helps our teams deliver lasting change for our members and beneficiaries.
About the role
This is an amazing opportunity to lead one of the UK’s most respected health charities through a period of transformation. Coeliac UK has a clear strategic direction, an ambitious and engaged Board, an outstanding reputation across healthcare, research and industry, and a passionate team committed to improving the lives of people affected by coeliac disease. The next Chief Executive won’t be asked to write another strategy; they will bring it to life.
As Chief Executive, you will lead the organisation, creating the pace, focus and momentum needed to turn ambition into lasting impact. You will unite and inspire people behind a shared vision, strengthen organisational performance, build a high-performing and collaborative culture, diversify income, and ensure Coeliac UK is financially resilient for the future. At the same time, you will elevate the charity’s influence, championing the needs of people affected by coeliac disease with government, the NHS, researchers, industry and partners. This is an opportunity to shape the future of an organisation with enormous potential; leading meaningful change, embracing innovation and ensuring Coeliac UK has an even greater impact for generations to come.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for an inspiring, emotionally intelligent and values-led leader with a proven track record of delivering organisational transformation. Whether your experience has been gained within the charity sector, a membership organisation, healthcare, public service or another purpose-led environment, you will bring the ability to turn strategy into action and lead people through change with confidence and compassion.
You will have a strong commercial and strategic mindset, with experience of strengthening financial sustainability through income growth, partnerships or innovation, alongside the credibility to represent Coeliac UK with government, the NHS, researchers, industry and supporters.
Just as importantly, you will be an authentic and visible leader who builds trust, develops high-performing teams, embraces accountability and creates an inclusive culture where people can thrive. You don’t need a personal connection to coeliac disease or previous CEO experience, but you will bring a genuine passion for the charity’s mission and the determination to help Coeliac UK realise its considerable potential.
