Carers Support Bristol and South Gloucestershire is entering a new strategic period, and we are looking for a Finance Manager who wants support real change. You will have the chance to shape how we plan, report, forecast and make decisions, helping us build strong financial systems that support high-quality services for adults, parent carers and young carers across Bristol and South Gloucestershire.

The role is available due to the upcoming retirement of our current Finance Manager, creating an opportunity for someone to bring fresh insight, strengthen our processes and work closely with the CEO, Treasurer, Senior Management Team and Finance Officer.

You will lead the day-to-day finance function, produce monthly management accounts, oversee payroll, support budget holders, manage cash flow forecasting, review investments, strengthen financial policies and controls, and provide financial modelling for funding applications, tenders and service planning.

This is a varied and influential role where your work will directly support better decisions, better use of resources and stronger services for unpaid carers, who play such a vital role in our communities.

We are looking for someone who can combine technical finance skills with a practical, collaborative approach. You will be confident explaining financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues, spotting risks and opportunities, and helping managers understand the financial impact of their decisions.

Role Overview

The Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Foundation and will report directly to the Chair and the Board of Trustees. The CEO will lead on planning and delivering fundraising, events, marketing, grant processes and future team development.

Marketing, graphic design and financial management support are available from within the STEPS team.

This is a remote working role, though applicants must be a commutable distance from Sheffield and happy to travel in and around the designated grant area when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and drive a compelling fundraising and income generation strategy, including exploring novel and commercial routes where appropriate.
• Be the public face and voice of the charity, ensuring messaging is on brand at all times, and securing appropriate media and other opportunities for publicity and raising awareness.
• Work with and listen to individuals and families who are beneficiaries of the Foundation, communicating their needs with clarity and credibility to funders and potential funders and donors.
• Establish a donor stewardship journey and ensure practice follows to meet donor needs.
• Develop and deliver fundraising methods, including but not limited to events, grants, legacies, regular giving and other appropriate methods of fundraising.
• Develop and deliver a social media and marketing plan.
• Develop and propose budgets, presenting to the Board for approval.
• Ensure any grants received are properly reported on and accounted for.

Health & Wellbeing Lead - Love Barton

The role and its impact

As Health & Wellbeing Lead, you'll head up an exciting set of projects on the Barton estate - leading volunteers and managing programmes that meet the health and wellbeing needs of the local community. You'll manage and grow our existing services, and work with the Charity Director to spot new opportunities and support fundraising.

What you'll be working on

• Hear4You listening service — recruit, train and support volunteer listeners, and develop the referral system (from GP and self-referrals) so more people can be supported. You'll also help grow our new Hear4You creative coffee morning for adults facing loneliness, family challenges or poor mental health.
• Emergency Foodbank — recruit, train and support the volunteer team running our twice-weekly sessions with Community Emergency Foodbank, ensuring everything runs safely and to Food Hygiene Standards.
• Family Food Pantry — in partnership with Mercy In Action, recruit, train and support volunteers to keep our weekly food pantry running smoothly for local families on low incomes.
• You'll also network with other providers and stakeholders, represent Love Barton at Health & Wellbeing partnership meetings, offer pastoral care and support to those experiencing hardship, help deliver seasonal projects like Christmas hampers and school holiday activities, manage project budgets and reporting, and work with the Charity Director and trustees on funding.

The Opportunity

Many Tears Animal Rescue is at an exciting stage in its development. We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome thousands of animals each year, and are now seeking an experienced, practical leader to guide our next chapter. You will build on our legacy, strengthening our foundations and securing our long-term sustainability. This role is for someone who can help us grow our reputation while giving our staff and volunteers the support they need to continue providing the best possible care for our animals. 

What will you be doing?

You will guide the charity's strategy and drive a period of transformation, ensuring our operations are effective, fully compliant, and set up for long-term sustainability. Your leadership is about ensuring that our strategy, finances, and operations all serve to give our animals the best possible chance of recovery and a loving, forever home. 

To achieve this, the role is structured around three key areas of focus:

Strategy, Governance and Compliance

• Work with the Board of Trustees to develop and deliver a strategic vision with animal welfare at its heart.

• Provide the Board of Trustees with accurate, timely, and insightful reports on risk management and performance. These updates will ensure the Board has the clear visibility they need for effective oversight and strategic planning.

• Champion a culture of transparency, accountability, and excellence in governance. Build strong, positive relationships with our regulators and key partners, including contributing to our statutory and regulatory filings to ensure we maintain full compliance with all external obligations.

• Lead the development of our internal policies and processes, ensuring every policy and process is fit-for-purpose, compliant with regulatory expectations and the highest standards of animal welfare, and are regularly reviewed to help the team work safely and effectively.

• Ensure strict adherence to all animal welfare legislation, Charity Commission standards, and sector best practices, maintaining the reliable framework our team needs to focus on the animals in our care.

• Proactively monitor and adapt to evolving Welsh animal rescue licensing regulations, ensuring our practices always reflect the highest welfare standards in Wales.

• Oversee the integrity of our operational and governance records, maintaining full transparency and auditability across the charity.

Financial Strategy and Sustainability

• Work with the Board of Trustees to develop and implement a financial strategy that puts the controls and oversight in place to secure our future and direct resources to where our animals need them most.

• Lead a long-term income generation strategy, focusing on sustainable, diverse streams including legacy giving, grant-making trusts, and community fundraising, to support our rising operational costs.

• Implement and monitor strict internal financial controls to ensure all charity resources are used exclusively for approved charitable purposes.

• Oversee data governance and digital integrity, ensuring robust data protection compliance.

Operational Delivery and Team Development 

• Take responsibility for the charity’s safeguarding culture, ensuring that all policies are embedded, staff and volunteers are trained, and that all incidents are investigated and reported with transparency, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our people.

• Foster an inclusive and supportive culture while providing strategic oversight of the modernisation of our HR practices, digital systems, and infrastructure. Ensure we are positioned to support our team’s wellbeing, growth, and development - including our volunteers and fosterers - through structured engagement and retention strategies.

• Act as the charity’s lead ambassador, building relationships with the press, local authorities, other neighbouring and notable charities, and animal welfare professionals to enhance our external reputation. 

• Oversee our operational planning, including the day-to-day management of staffing rotas and fleet resources. Provide direct line management to the senior leadership team, making sure everyone has the support they need to work effectively.

• Monitor the rescue, and report to the Board of Trustees on core operational performance, including intake-to-rehoming metrics, fostering network capacity, and clinical standards to provide clear visibility on the welfare outcomes we achieve.

• Lead the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across operational activity, ensuring consistent service levels and adherence to regulatory and best practice standards, to ensure our animals receive the highest standards of care.

• Direct all physical site operations, planned maintenance, and infrastructure improvements, ensuring all premises are safe, efficient, and fit for purpose.

• Manage charity risk, including contributing to the risk register, site-wide health and safety audits, staff and volunteer training, and carrying out robust assessment and management of operational risks.

Time Commitment

• Hours: This is a full-time role. It requires flexibility to meet the needs of the charity, including occasional evening and weekend work.

• Location: This is primarily an on-site role, based at the rescue centre in Carmarthenshire, Wales to provide visible leadership. There is some ability to work from home for some tasks, and permanent on-site accommodation may be available if required.

• Nature of the Role: As the lead for both strategic direction and operational stability, the role requires availability to respond to urgent operational matters.

Reach Charity is a small volunteer-led national charity supporting children born with, or who acquire upper limb differences (ULD) in childhood, for the whole of their lives! Being born with/acquiring  an ULD in childhood is rare. Our role in the Reach team is to support our volunteers in every way we can to keep Reach families connected and supported with and by their community as and when they need it for life. This role will help us sustain and potentially grow that level of support. 

Contract: One-year fixed-term contract. The role will be reviewed before the end of the fixed term. Any extension, permanency or change to contracted hours will be subject to organisational need, funding and written agreement.

Location/format: Hybrid working, with a minimum of two days per week in the office: Office 5, The Library Rooms, 59 High Street, Totnes, Devon, TQ9 5PB. Reporting to: Operations Lead

Core purpose of the role:
The Operations & Development Officer will provide high-quality operational, administrative and executive support to the Operations Lead and the wider Reach team.
The role will help ensure the smooth running of Reach’s central operations, including governance support, policy coordination, safeguarding administration, donor stewardship, event delivery, communications and day-to-day organisational support.
The postholder will play an important role in maintaining operational continuity, supporting compliance, strengthening community engagement and helping Reach deliver effectively for adults, children and young people with upper limb difference and their families.

Key responsibilities
1. Governance, compliance and safeguarding
Policy and procedure coordination
Coordinate and maintain a rolling programme of policy and procedure review, liaising with the Operations Lead, trustees and relevant staff or volunteers as required.
Support the updating, formatting, circulation and storage of policies and procedures, ensuring records are accurate and accessible.

Safeguarding support
Subject to appropriate training, support Reach’s safeguarding arrangements and participate in the safeguarding on-call rota.
Provide cover during colleagues planned or unplanned absence, acting in accordance with Reach’s safeguarding policy and escalation procedures.
This may include occasional weekend on-call duties when the Operations Lead is unavailable.

DBS, safeguarding training and appointment requirements
Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references and the appropriate level of DBS check for the role.
Safeguarding training must be completed before the postholder undertakes safeguarding duties.

Data protection and confidentiality
Handle personal, sensitive and confidential information in accordance with UK GDPR, Reach policies and confidentiality requirements.

2. Donor relations and fundraising administration
Donor stewardship
Provide supportive cover for donor stewardship during colleague absence or holiday, including drafting thank-you communications, updating records and helping maintain positive supporter relationships.
Ensure donor communications are timely, accurate and aligned with Reach’s tone, values and messaging.

Fundraising administration
Support the Operations Lead and wider team with fundraising administration, including funding applications, milestone tracking, data collection and information required for funder reports.
Maintain accurate records of funding activity, deadlines and reporting requirements.

3. Event support and promotion
Event delivery
Support the planning, coordination, delivery and evaluation of Reach events.
This may include support from initial concept through to on-the-day coordination and post-event follow-up.
Where required, lead agreed elements of event delivery, with appropriate support and oversight.

Event communications and promotion
Promote events and campaigns through digital channels, newsletters, local networks and other appropriate platforms to maximise visibility, attendance, engagement and donations.
Work closely with the Operations Lead and Reach team to ensure consistent messaging, effective coordination and successful delivery.

Evening and weekend work
Some evening or weekend work may be required for events or safeguarding cover. This will be agreed in advance wherever possible and managed through time off in lieu or other arrangements in line with Reach policy.

4. Executive, board and operational support
Executive assistance
Provide executive and administrative support to the Operations Lead, including diary management, coordination of priorities, management of incoming enquiries and preparation of briefing materials or documentation for meetings.
Work with other members of staff to identify priorities, support workflow and ensure timely follow-up on agreed actions.

Board and trustee support
Provide proactive support for Trustee meetings, including coordinating meeting logistics, preparing and circulating papers, supporting agenda planning and taking clear, accurate minutes.
Help ensure trustees have the information they need to support effective governance and decision-making.

General operations
Support the smooth running of Reach’s day-to-day operations, including responding to enquiries, maintaining records, supporting internal communications and helping ensure tasks are completed efficiently.

5. Finance, merchandise and systems administration
Finance administration
Support finance administration by maintaining accurate transaction records, processing documentation, supporting reconciliations and working within Reach’s financial controls and delegated authority arrangements.
Liaise with the Operations Lead, Treasurer and relevant colleagues to ensure financial information is accurate, timely and appropriately recorded.

Merchandise and fulfilment
Manage the Reach online shop and coordinate fulfilment of merchandise and other items.
Prepare and post welcome packs, running vests and other materials for new members, supporters and event participants.
Maintain accurate records of stock, orders and fulfilment activity

Systems and records
Use Reach’s systems accurately and consistently, including CRM, email marketing, finance, document storage and communication platforms.
Support the maintenance of accurate records and contribute to efficient internal processes.

Programme Manager

Join The Borrow Foundation and help improve children's oral health worldwide. We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead our international grant-making programmes, build strategic partnerships and work with organisations including the World Health Organization to reduce oral health inequalities.

ROLE

The Programme Manager will play a key, hands-on operational role in the development, delivery, and management of the Foundation’s grant-making portfolio, including collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), advocacy initiatives, and support for oral health meetings and events. Working closely with the Director of Finance and Operations (DFO), trustees, grant applicants, research partners, and funded organisations, the postholder will lead the coordination and management of the grant programmes.

In addition to oversing grant programme delivery, the role will play a key part in promoting the Foundation’s research activities, funding opportunities, partnerships, and impact across the oral health, research, charitable, and wider stakeholder communities. Key responsibilities

Grant programme management

• Lead the operational management and delivery of the Foundation’s grant programmes and other funding activities, supporting global and regional initiatives.

Governance

Job purpose

To provide high-quality, intensive support to young dads and expectant fathers (aged 25 and under) across Tees Valley; to lead and coordinate peer support activity; to manage allocated budgets and contribute to funder reporting; and to take an active role in the development of NEYDL’s commissioned services in the region.

RfPUK operates a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) framework where paid staff provide their own personal computer hardware to access our systems. All work is web-based via Google Workspace for Charities and does not require high-specification hardware. The charity provides all system user licenses and funds required antivirus software for work devices, but does not provide or fund personal hardware or domestic utility bills.

Finance Director

Advonet is an independent advocacy charity supporting people who may find it difficult to be heard, ensuring their rights are upheld and their voices are at the centre of decisions that affect their lives. 

We are seeking an experienced, qualified finance professional to join our Senior Leadership Team as Finance Director . This is a strategic role that combines financial leadership with oversight of IT, systems, data infrastructure and organisational resilience. 

Working closely with the CEO, Head of Business Development and Finance Manager, you will help ensure Advonet remains financially sustainable, well-managed and prepared for the future. Alongside responsibility for financial planning, governance, risk management, audit and Board reporting, you will lead work to strengthen our digital infrastructure, cyber resilience, data protection arrangements and organisational systems. 

This role will suit someone who enjoys operating at a strategic level, bringing clear judgement, constructive challenge and practical leadership. We are particularly interested in hearing from qualified accountants who have experience of supporting organisational change, overseeing systems and infrastructure, and working with senior leaders and trustees.

We pioneered social prescribing in Merton, now embedded in every GP practice for over a decade, and deliver services including Healthwatch Merton, the Home Visits Library and Merton Giving, the borough’s place-based giving scheme.

You will help ensure Merton Connected remains financially strong, transparent, and sustainable for the future while maintaining excellent relationships with partners, funders, commissioners and community organisations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 Strategic Financial Leadership

• Support long term financial planning, scenario modelling, and risk management, including exploring income diversification.
• Ensure financial systems remain proportionate, efficient, and aligned with our strategic pillars.
• Help the organisation prepare for sector wide challenges such as rising demand, funding pressures, and increased complexity.
• Support the Quarterly Finance Sub Committee Meetings and attend Board Meetings

 Annual Accounts and Audit

• Prepare year‑end accounts in line with the Charities SORP.
• Work closely with auditors to ensure a smooth, timely audit process.
• Draft the financial commentary for the Trustees’ Annual Report.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including Charity Commission, Companies House, and HMRC.

Oversight of Day to Day Finance Operations

• Produce clear, accurate quarterly management accounts and cash flow forecasts with meaningful commentary.
• Work closely with the Assistant Accountant, providing them with support and direction.
• Maintain oversight of income, expenditure, payroll, reconciliations, and journals.
• Ensure robust tracking of restricted funds, project budgets, and grant reporting.
• Strengthen internal controls and financial procedures.

 Building Strong Relationships Across the Organisation

• Work collaboratively with department leads, supporting them to understand budgets and forecasts.
• Communicate financial information to colleagues and the Board in a clear, supportive, and accessible way.
• Contribute to a positive, team‑centred culture that reflects our values of Empowering, Collaborative and Inclusive.

 Customer relations with partners and funders

• Provide timely, accurate financial information for commissioners, funders, and partners.
• Build confidence with stakeholders through professionalism, clarity, and responsiveness.
• Support collaborative funding bids, shared investment pathways, and partnership‑led projects - aligning with our Convenor and Incubator roles.

 Support innovation and organisational development

• Work with Head of Operations to develop and embed robust and effective financial systems
• Help us test new approaches, pilot ideas, and strengthen our internal resilience.
• Ensure financial systems support accurate and timely information, as well as innovation and collaboration.
• Contribute to business planning, strategic development, and organisational learning.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

 Essential

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience producing management accounts and year‑end accounts in the charity sector.
• Strong understanding of restricted funds, project accounting, and the Charities SORP.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - able to build trust with colleagues, trustees, and partners.
• A collaborative, team‑centred approach.
• Ability to think strategically and anticipate future challenges.

• Ability to present reports to the Finance Sub Committee and Board
• Ability to represent the organisation with funders stakeholders when needed.
• Familiarity with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Teams and Sharepoint

Desirable

• Experience in infrastructure, health, community, or multi funded charities.
• Familiarity with NHS/ICB (Integrated Care Board)  funded programmes or local authority contracts.
• Experience with cloud based accounting systems such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks
• Understanding of the voluntary sector landscape and its emerging pressures.

As Finance Director, you will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, providing strategic and operational financial leadership across the organisation. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with Trustees, you will strengthen financial governance, improve forecasting and management information, and support informed decision-making across the charity.
