Age UK is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join the Finance & Corporate Services division on a fixed term contract ending 30th July, 2027. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in our financial control environment, whilst supporting work that makes a real difference to older people across the UK.

As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will work alongside another SFA, supporting the Head of Financial Control and CFO to deliver accurate financial reporting and maintain strong controls across the Group and subsidiaries.

This is a hybrid opportunity, a blend of homebased and office working. Our linked office for this role is at One America Square, London (EC3N 2LB) and you would be expected to attend as and when required.

Key Responsibilities

Statutory Accounts & Reporting

Prepare statutory accounts for key subsidiaries and contribute to Group accounts.
Lead on Group SOFA and cashflow.
Act as a main point of contact for external auditors.

Controls & Month-End

Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly and address variances proactively.
Manage intercompany balances, pension accounting, investments, and consolidation.

Tax (VAT & CT)

Ensure VAT returns align with the Group's partial exemption method.
Support VAT queries and liaise with HMRC.
Prepare corporation tax computations and work with external advisers.

Additional Contributions

Provide data for investment committees and reserves reporting.
Support implementation of new accounting standards (SORP/FRS 102).
Contribute to new finance system implementation.

About the Role

As a Payroll Manager, you will take ownership of the full payroll lifecycle for a workforce of approximately 1,500-2,000+ employees, ensuring an accurate, compliant and timely payroll service.

You will lead a small payroll team, working closely with Finance and HR to ensure strong governance, reporting and continuous improvement across payroll operations.

You will be confident working in a complex, fast-paced environment and able to balance multiple priorities while maintaining high levels of accuracy and compliance.

You will need:

• Proven experience managing payroll for a large workforce (1,000+ employees)
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements
• Experience leading and developing payroll teams
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience working in a controlled or audit-focused environment
• Experience using payroll and HR systems (e.g. IRIS, Cascade or similar)

We are looking for a Domestic Abuse Support Worker - Thriving Families, to deliver tailored DA support interventions within a muti-disciplinary team. 

The role
This role will work collaboratively within Manchester City Council's multi-disciplinary Thriving Families Team to support adult victims/survivors of domestic abuse within families where there are safeguarding concerns. The Domestic Abuse Support Worker will provide trauma-informed, strengths based and needs led support to help victims/survivors increase safety, reduce risk and improve their emotional wellbeing. Through one-to-one tailored interventions, the role will empower victims/survivors to make informed choices, rebuild confidence and access specialist support services.

The Domestic Abuse Support Worker will work collaboratively with the Domestic Abuse Prevention Worker and partner agencies, ensuring a coordinated, multi-agency, whole-family approach. They will complete comprehensive risk and needs assessments, develop and regularly review individual safety and support plans, provide advocacy, attend multi-agency meetings and ensure the voice of the victim/survivor informs risk management and safety planning.

About you

You'll be confident in delivering direct work with adult victims/survivors of domestic abuse. This will include completing comprehensive risk and needs assessments to develop tailored safety and support plans, alongside providing practical and emotional support that promotes recovery, resilience and increased safety.

You'll have experience of working in a trauma-informed way with individuals experiencing domestic abuse and be confident in providing advocacy, psychoeducation and support around the impact of domestic abuse on adults, children and parenting. You'll have experience of safeguarding processes and multi-agency working.

Above all, you'll have the ability to build trusting relationships with victims/survivors, empowering them to make informed choices while working collaboratively with professionals to achieve positive outcomes for families. You'll bring a compassionate,

You will manage referrals, update case management systems, and keep records accurate and up to date to support effective decision-making.

You will also act as a first point of contact for enquiries, providing helpful information and signposting to appropriate support where needed. You will assist with data tracking, reporting, and workflow processes to ensure information is reliable and easy to access.

Working closely with Housing Advisors, Peer Support Workers, and partner organisations, you will help coordinate activities and maintain good communication across the service. You will support the organisation of meetings, manage documentation, and assist with funding processes, including processing requests and keeping track of spend.

You will follow good practice around data protection, safeguarding, and confidentiality. You will also support improvements by identifying simple ways to make processes more efficient.

As a pet‑friendly service, GHH regularly supports beneficiaries who may have assistance or support animals.

About the team

The team is based in a dog friendly office at the Pearce Institute in Govan, Glasgow, with the option to work remotely one day per week after probation. GHH is a partnership between SSAFA and Glasgow City Council, delivering trusted support to serving personnel, veterans, and their families during times of need.

Our approach is trauma-informed and focused on delivering intense, holistic wraparound support. This means addressing not only housing needs but also the wider challenges that impact stability, such as mental health, financial wellbeing, and social inclusion. Every intervention is designed to reduce risk, build resilience, and empower beneficiaries to sustain long-term housing solutions.

The GHH team works closely with key partners. These include Glasgow City Homeless Casework Teams, Citizens Advice Scotland, Veterans Housing Scotland, Erskine Veterans Village, Scottish Veterans Residences, and Defence Medical Welfare Services. You also attend stakeholder events out with office hours.

Sutton Trust Online was developed to extend that support digitally. It now complements our university, apprenticeship and career access programmes through online guidance, resources, events, tools and progression support.

As the Trust approaches its 30th anniversary, we want to build on this foundation and think carefully about the next stage of our digital programming: how we make the student experience more coherent, how digital support connects with our wider programmes and how we use data, AI and external partners responsibly to improve guidance over time.

Over the next two years, the Digital Platform Architect will help us define and deliver that next stage. The role will sit between the Trust’s programme ambitions and the technical partners who help support them, bringing the product judgement, technical literacy and delivery grip we need to make informed decisions about digital development, AI, data, systems and student experience.

This is not a traditional programme management role and it is not a hands-on engineering role. You do not need to be a full-stack developer but you will need the confidence to work with engineers, UX specialists, AI partners and suppliers and the ability to turn complex programme ideas into practical product decisions.

This is a chance to shape student-facing digital programming used by thousands of young people each year at a point when AI is changing how students access guidance, information and opportunity. Terms of Appointment

At Yeldall Manor, we have been helping men overcome drug and alcohol addiction for 50 years through our residential rehabilitation programme and Christian recovery community. We are looking for a commited Christian to join our Recovery Coordination Team as an organised and proactive Admissions Coordinator. As the first point of contact for prospective residents, commissioners, families and referring agencies, you will play a vital role in ensuring that individuals receive a professional, welcoming and supportive experience from their first enquiry through to admission.
