The Food Chain's Dietitians bring specialist health and nutrition knowledge and skills to the staff team, enabling the running of our charitable services. As the first and regular point of contact for Service Users and referrers you will implement your nutritional expertise to ensure The Food Chain meets the needs of people living with HIV who are experiencing barriers to the nutrition they need to get well, stay well and live healthy independent lives.

Key Activities: 

1. To perform Dietetic Assessments* (see competencies below):

• Coordinate and manage our list of incoming referrals from NHS and community organisations, ensuring contact is made in a timely manner 

• Communicate with referrers in the NHS and community organisations to ensure information is accurate and transparent 

• Interpret information provided to determine the appropriate services for those referred to us

• Engage with Service Users to understand their nutrition needs and agree personal goals, ensuring they are supported to meet these goals while they are in receipt of our services 

• Arrange tailored grocery deliveries taking in to account clinical, cultural and practical needs 

• Keep accurate records of referrals, outcomes and feedback, and to report on trends

• Adhere to the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Standards of conduct, performance and ethics 

• Ensure communication, conduct and interactions are grounded in compassion, free of judgement and in accordance with the policies and procedures of The Food Chain. 

2. To be actively involved in the delivery of services, both internal and external: 

• To be an active presence at our Eating Together group meals

• To deliver talks at Eating Together on nutrition and/or general wellbeing related topics

• To maintain ongoing contact with Service Users at Eating Together and over the phone throughout the duration of their service, listening to and learning from their experiences, ensuring our nutritional input is ongoing, responsive and reflective of changes in their situations 

• To actively participate in peer supervisions with the Senior HIV Dietitian and Services Manager

• To deliver external talks to partner organisations including charities, community groups, universities, NHS and corporate partners, all with wide and diverse audiences. 

3. To work independently and collaboratively within a small staff team: 

• Actively support the staff team and volunteers to keep HIV nutrition knowledge up to date, relevant and at the forefront of our service delivery

• Be proactive in monitoring, developing and updating our nutrition resources, talks, website content, menus and recipes, ensuring resources are up to date and in line with good practice

• Support the Senior HIV Dietitian with research, audit and service development projects 

• Work flexibly as the organisation’s needs grow and develop over time 

• With support from the team, develop continuing professional development (CPD), identify training needs and suggest future developments and/or research opportunities

 4. To work in line with The Food Chain’s values, mission and strategic aims: 

• Develop and maintain an awareness of HIV-related stigma and the need to respect confidentiality 

• Continually grow and practice an awareness of HIV-related stigma with other issues including but not limited to racism, structural discrimination, homophobia & transphobia, particularly as they relate to health inequalities and social isolation

*Dietetic competencies 

Current competencies required: 

• Undertake clinical assessment of nutritional risk and nutritional needs and interpret to make appropriate clinical decisions 

• Gather and interpret psychosocial information e.g. mental health conditions, sleep patterns, living arrangements, support systems, employment status, immigration status

• Be sensitive to cultural, religious, ethnic, or personal dietary preferences

• Gather and interpret information on recent or longstanding lifestyle habits, behavioural patterns, motivating factors and barriers to change 

• Interpret results of relevant biochemical and haematological tests related to nutritional care

• Interpret investigations pertaining to bone disease, lipids and diabetes risk

• Collaborate with individuals to develop a realistic and achievable patient-centred dietetic care plan which takes into consideration all aspects of their social and clinical status 

• Demonstrate understanding of the nature of the interactions and risks posed by some complementary/alternative medicine (CAM) and advise patients accordingly. Know where to seek more in-depth advice when needed

The Food Chain's operating hours are Monday - Friday 9am to 5.30pm. Flexible working is available and can be discussed. The ideal candidate will be able to work outside of office hours, for example joining our Duty Manager rota for Saturday Eating Together services (once every 6 weeks).

Working Well Trust is a mental health and employment charity in London. All of our projects share the aim of improving the lives of people with mental health support needs, learning disabilities and/or complex issues through training and employment. 

We are now recruiting an IPS Employment Advisor to join our Connect to Work service across Enfield. This is a full-time, permanent role working 35 hours per week, following the principles of the IPS model to support people into paid employment.

The role also involves working to agreed targets while maintaining a high-quality, supportive service.

• A genuine desire to support people with mental health support needs and/or learning disabilities to achieve their employment goals.

The Senior Individual Giving manager will lead a successful team to develop and implement the overall Individual Giving strategy. They are looking for someone with experience of managing a team and a busy portfolio of generous donors. St John’s Hospice supports over 4,000 people and their families each year, providing free, holistic care in our Inpatient Unit and Wellbeing Centre in St John’s Wood and out in the community. We are looking for a Senior Fundraising Manager to lead our community and individual giving activity during an important and exciting period.

The role
You will focus on Community, Events, Individual and Regular Giving. You will:

• Lead and grow community fundraising, events, individual giving, regular giving and in-memory giving.
• Manage and support two experienced community fundraising colleagues.
• Oversee the development and promotion of a new regular giving product and manage donors coming from the website and in-memory channels.
• Oversee the volunteer programme through the Community Fundraising & Volunteer Executive.
• Use data and KPIs to monitor performance and inform plans.
• Ensure robust supporter care, data, GDPR, Gift Aid and governance across your areas.
• Represent fundraising confidently within the organisation and externally.

This is a hands-on leadership role, combining strategic direction with practical delivery alongside your team.

What we’re looking for

• Significant experience in fundraising with a strong focus on community, events and/or individual giving.
• Experience managing and motivating staff and/or volunteers.
• A proven track record of delivering against income targets.
• Ability to spot and shape new fundraising opportunities into workable plans.
• Solid understanding of GDPR, Gift Aid and charity governance in a fundraising context.
• A supportive leadership style and a strong commitment to the purpose and values of hospice care.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Project Officer, working predominantly in the South London area, to lead the development and delivery of river and catchment restoration projects. You will oversee work from early concept and design stages through to physical implementation, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget and to a high standard. As part of our Restoring Rivers and Catchments Team, you’ll help shape ambitious, meaningful projects that benefit local rivers, wildlife and communities. Whilst you will be predominantly working on projects for the Hogsmill, Wandle, Beverley Brook and Cray rivers, you may be required to work on other projects within the wider SERT region.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and design restoration and enhancement projects using best practice and sound science.

• Lead feasibility work, secure all necessary permissions and manage stakeholder relationships.

• Oversee on-site delivery, managing contractors, volunteers and project partners.

• Ensure robust Health & Safety compliance across all project activities.

• Manage project budgets, timelines and reporting to funders.

• Mentor and manage junior colleagues, supporting their development and project delivery skills.

• Contribute to the Trust’s communications, fundraising and wider organisational goals.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking someone with strong project management experience, confidence in leading multidisciplinary work and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of partners. Experience delivering physical works on site—especially with power tools or plant—is desirable but not essential. You will bring creativity, initiative and a collaborative mindset to help develop impactful environmental solutions.

Senior FP&A Business Partner: £65,000 - £72,944 | Permanent | London | Hybrid | Full Time or 0.8 FTE

We're recruiting a Senior FP&A Business Partner (full-time or o.8 FTE) for a London University. Reporting to the Head of FP&A, the Senior FP&A Business Partner a data-driven, technical role providing expert financial analysis, complex financial modelling, and finance business partnering to the Leadership Team and is a key role in providing insightful analysis enable informed decision-making. Using the new Oracle EPM system, this role will also lead month-end, budgeting, forecasting and annual planning along with continuous improvement of finance systems and processes.

Main Duties:

• Support the Head of FP&A with financial analysis continuous improvement, financial modelling, and enhancements to reporting platforms
• Deputise and support the Head of FP&A with technical leadership of the Oracle EPM system, identifying improvements to the system to enhance output quality
• Own and train up-to-date documentation, reference information and finance processes across forecast and budget cycles
• Maintenance and improvement of the Tuition Fee Model, leading monthly forecasting providing income reporting
• Leading continuous improvements to Student Number Planning within Oracle EPM and contributing to its forecasting
• Financial planning and commercial insights to support business plan, highlighting risks to improve financial performance and sustainability
• Leading on the analysis of financial information to improve decision-making
• Set and manage expectations for month-end, budget cycles, forecast cycles and year-end
• Stakeholder Engagement - identify approaches to enhance stakeholder experience and continually challenge traditional ways of working.
• Supporting statutory data returns and the budgeting and forecasting cycles

Person Specification:

• CCAB qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with extensive experience building and maintaining financial models
• Extensive experience with financial reporting tools and building and maintaining complex reporting outputs
• Expert in making sense of complex data for decision-making
• Experience of developing and implementing financial systems (i.e., Oracle)
• Ideally experience working within Higher Education and with multi-stream income modelling

We are currently recruiting Bank Support Workers to join our permanent staff team at our new Children’s Home in Croydon, South London. We are seeking committed and compassionate individuals who can build positive relationships with young people and are passionate about improving their life chances, even in the most challenging circumstances.

You will join a team of St Christopher’s workers providing day-to-day care and support for young people aged 12–18. The role includes administrative duties and accurate record-keeping, which are essential to ensuring high-quality care and compliance.

As the service operates on a 24-hour rota, the role will include weekends, bank holidays, early and late shifts, sleep-ins, and waking nights. You will need strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a diverse, multi-disciplinary team.
