About the role:

ELMS is a specialist mental health service in Leyton supporting adults living with long-term mental health conditions to remain well, connected to their communities and out of hospital. Made up of an office base, four supported houses, a small floating support offer and a structured day programme, ELMS provides longer-term accommodation rooted in stability, trust and continuity.

As Night Concierge, you’ll be the steady presence that holds the service overnight. From 10pm to 8am, you’ll be the first point of contact for residents, the guardian of the buildings, and the calm voice on the end of the phone when reassurance is needed. You’ll take responsibility for the ELMS duty phone, offering grounding, clarity and emotional containment to residents who may need support during the night.

This is a role with quiet impact. By maintaining safety, responding proportionately to concerns and providing a consistent, compassionate presence, you’ll create the conditions that allow residents to rest, recover and continue building their lives. It’s work that requires patience, professionalism and sound judgement — and makes a real difference, even when things are quiet.

About you:

• You bring experience of supporting adults with long-term mental health needs, or working in related support or care environments.
• You’re calm, grounded and reassuring, even in uncertain or emotionally charged situations — especially when supporting people by phone.

The role will also include 1:1 sessions; providing mental health stabilisation, advice and support to connect with wider services including multilingual engagement. Why this role matters

 Alexandra Rose run practical place-based food system transformation projects based around a voucher for fresh fruit & veg. We currently have 9 projects across the UK, and we’re aiming to scale in the coming years. Each project operates the same model, but each project adapts to work with different communities, different languages, different community support infrastructure, different retail options, and more.

At the core, we work with local trusted community organisations who distribute our vouchers to local families on low incomes with young children, and in some areas to local adults on low incomes managing food related health conditions (diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, etc). Voucher distribution is linked to a range of wider wrap around services to ensure that our projects support people in getting out of poverty in real and long-lasting ways. Our vouchers area accepted exclusively by local, independent healthy food businesses, ensuring that we are also supporting a fairer, healthier local food economy.

Our model directly tackles the barriers of affordability and accessibility to the most nutrient dense and most expensive element of a healthy diet. We change the health outcomes of young children and adults living with food related health conditions. We actively change the food environment that is available to a range of people who have been disadvantaged for decades.

As we grow nationally and expand the reach of our projects across multiple regions, we need strong operational leadership to ensure we can deliver consistently, efficiently and with confidence. You will help shape the systems and structures that support our operations, building on the strong work of our existing project teams.

Since January 2023, there has been a regular pattern of worship on site in Church House Chapel and online prayer and worship offered by staff for staff based at Church House and in the NCIs as follows: 

• Weekly Wednesday Eucharist (said) at 12.30pm in Church HouseChapel;

• Daily online Morning Prayer, 8.45am;

• Weekly Pause for Prayer email on Fridays. 

In order to ensure the sustainability of the on-site worship at Church House, the Chief Officers of the NCIs are looking for someone who can take on the role of Worship Coordinator. This role focuses on the on-site worship offering, though the Worship Coordinator will be helpful in offering support and collegiality to staff offering online worship and prayer.  

As Worship Coordinator you will take the lead in ensuring that there is always a weekly Eucharist, and bringing people together to provide a pattern of worship in Church House Chapel that reflects the diversity of staff at Church House.

The Head of Trusts and Foundations is a leadership role within our Key Relationships team.  You will provide strategic direction and drive significant growth in income from charitable trusts and foundations.  This is a chance to lead a critical area of our fundraising mix, and create a step-change in activities and outcomes to increase the number and longevity of donors giving at the six and seven-figure grant level.  You will have the support of a small team as well as a well-developed operations unit, to drive our programme forward.

It is therefore essential that you bring a proven and successful track record of securing gifts from trusts and foundations at the six-figure level or more, as well as managing people and getting the best out of them.  Your creativity and highly developed relationship building skills and analytical abilities have underpinned your success so far, and you enjoy working in lock-step with colleagues to craft and convey compelling stories and cases to secure philanthropic support.  To be a successful leader in our Key Relationships team will require resilience, adaptability, and solutions-focussed approach.

The Head of Advocacy, Awareness and External Relations is a senior leadership role within AtaLoss, working closely with and reporting directly to the CEO. The post-holder will lead work across the public, bereavement and commercial sectors to deliver AtaLoss’ strategic outcomes by:

• providing national leadership in bereavement awareness, advocacy and policy influence, including through Parliament, the APPG and the media
• strengthening the website as the UK’s trusted gateway for bereavement support, ensuring accessible, high-quality content and effective signposting
• enabling holistic bereavement support in communities and workplaces through partnership development, training and the growth of Bereavement Friendly Communities
• contributing to organisational sustainability through income-generating training, cross-sector partnerships and effective external engagement.

The role sits at the heart of AtaLoss’ mission to ensure that every bereaved person can access the right support at the right time, and to position bereavement as a public health issue requiring timely, coordinated and understanding response.

the3million is the largest grassroots organisation for EU citizens in the UK, formed after the 2016 referendum to protect the rights of people who have made the UK their home. 

Our work ranges from organising EU citizens’ communities and informing people about their rights, to holding the Government to account on the implementation of the Withdrawal Agreement and advocating for social justice.

We are looking for an experienced and values-driven Community Organiser to lead the delivery of EU Voices, a project aimed at strengthening EU citizens’ communities in the UK through capacity building of civil society organisations (CSOs) and delivering a programme of engagement events and campaigns directly with EU citizens. 

The ideal candidate will be passionate about social justice and migrants’ rights, able to plan, deliver and evaluate community engagement events, while also playing a key role in liaising with CSOs and delivering a programme of capacity building activities, enabling networks to be more effective and strategic in making change happen. The role requires strong experience in community organising, participatory approaches and working with diverse, grassroots-led CSOs.

Key responsibilities

1. Community organising and civic engagement 

• Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of the project’s community organising strategy, working closely with the3million’s other Community Organisers to deliver a cohesive programme of opportunities.
• Plan, organise and facilitate listening sessions with EU citizens’ communities in partnership with local grassroots organisations.
• Deliver outreach activities at cultural, educational and community events, including stalls promoting the project and voter registration drives.
• Design and facilitate intercultural dialogue events that build bridges between EU citizens and British residents.
• Ensure all community engagement activities are inclusive, participatory and grounded in lived experience.
• Work with the Communications Manager to effectively promote the project in the media and the3million’s website, newsletter and social media as appropriate.

2. Capacity building for CSOs 

• Lead the delivery of capacity building activities for EU citizens’ organisations, coordinating with fundraising, communications and anti-oppressive practices training providers.
• Work closely with grassroots CSOs providing one to one guidance and support, including on organising local engagement events.
• Support CSOs to deliver and implement community organising plans and deliver local outreach and campaigning events.

3. Coordination and project management

• Act as the main point of contact for the3million within the EU Voices consortium, working closely with the Project Coordinator and partners.
• Coordinate activities to ensure coherence, timely delivery and alignment with project objectives and indicators.
• Lead on project planning, internal coordination meetings, and risk management.
• Support monitoring, evaluation and learning processes, including the collection of qualitative and quantitative data from community activities.

4. Stakeholder engagement 

• Work with the Head of Policy and Advocacy to ensure community insights and grassroots priorities inform and lead the3million’s advocacy.
• Support the3million’s policy-focused webinars and engagement with UK and EU decision-makers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with a wide network of external stakeholders including grassroots community leaders and CSOs. 

5. Reporting and documentation

• Lead on the3million’s narrative reporting for EU funders, including event reports, progress updates and evidence of impact.
• Ensure accurate documentation of activities, participant engagement and outcomes in line with EU funding and visibility requirements.
• Support the production of case studies, testimonials and stories of impact from participating CSOs. 

6. General responsibilities 

• Represent the views of the3million at events, conferences and in the media, as appropriate.
• Provide assistance in other areas of the3million’s work as and when deemed necessary by the CEO.

Person specifications

Knowledge and experience: 

• Significant experience (minimum 3 years) in community organising, grassroots mobilisation or community development.
• Proven experience working directly with EU citizens or other minoritised, racialised or migrant communities.
• Strong understanding of participatory, rights-based and inclusive organising approaches.
• Experience coordinating complex projects with multiple stakeholders and partners.
• Experience of working with people from different backgrounds, including different language skills, cultures/ethnicities, ages, etc. Comfortable interacting with people who hold different opinions with a view to build mutual understanding and solidarity.

Skills:

• Excellent facilitation skills (experience of running workshops, events, stakeholder meetings)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing funding reports, ability to write clear emails with compelling calls to action and the confidence to speak in public settings
• Familiarity with anti-oppression practices (which can include anti-racism, co-liberatory and intersectional principles) and ability to apply them in practice (centering the voices of racialised, minoritised and under-represented community members in project design and implementation)
• Strong administrative skills, time management and attention to detail, including the ability to set meeting agendas, keep records of volunteers/partners and to follow up on agreed actions

Personal attributes:

• A deep commitment to migrants’ rights and a passion for social justice
• Strong understanding of power, inequity and intersectionality, and how these shape participation and community engagement 
• Ability to work independently, managing competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• A positive, proactive and solutions-oriented attitude, able to take initiative
• Willingness to travel across the UK

Desirable

• Experience working on EU-funded projects.
• Experience working with EU citizens’ communities or on post-Brexit rights issues.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be joining our People Team, a collaborative and supportive group working closely with leaders and managers across Transform. As our People Advisor – Employee Relations, you’ll act as a trusted partner, providing practical, balanced advice that supports timely, fair and consistent outcomes.
 
This is a hands-on role where you’ll manage a varied ER caseload while also helping to build manager confidence and capability, using insight and data to drive continuous improvement.
 
A little more about your day as a People Advisor – Employee Relations:

• Managing a diverse employee relations caseload, including conduct, capability, grievance, attendance, probation and wellbeing matters.
• Coaching and advising managers, helping them understand risks, options and best practice so they can make confident, values-led decisions.
• Supporting and, where appropriate, leading complex or sensitive investigations in partnership with the People Manager.
• Producing high-quality documentation, reports and formal correspondence, ensuring accuracy, consistency and confidentiality at all times.
• Using people data and trends to identify emerging risks, inform decision-making and support proactive interventions.
