Main Responsibilities of the Job

• To provide support and assistance during journeyspick up and drop of duties at the commencement and end of sessions at our day centres.

The Employee Relations Team is a vital part of our HR department, supporting managers across the organisation with matters including conduct, capability, absence, redundancy and a wide range of other employee relations topics. We are now looking for an Employee Relations Assistant to support our Advisers while also developing your own skills and responsibilities.

This is an ideal role for someone currently working in HR administration or HR support, who is working towards (or already has) a professional HR qualification-ideally CIPD Level 5-and is keen to gain deeper ER experience.

What you’ll be doing

In this position you will work closely with our experienced team of eight Employee Relations Advisers. You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of ER activities, take part in case discussions, and gradually take ownership of less complex matters.

Your responsibilities will include:

Employee Relations Support

• Acting as the first point of contact for employee relations, policy and contractual queries.

Essential skills & experience:

• Experience in an HR Administrator, HR Assistant or HR Coordinator role.
• Confidence in advising managers on HR procedures and basic ER issues.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Competent user of MS Office and HR systems.
• CIPD Level 3 (or equivalent) and ideally working towards Level 5.
• A basic understanding of employment law principles and developments.

Working day and evening shifts, you will provide practical, emotional, and safeguarding support to vulnerable adults, ensuring their welfare, dignity, and protection at all times. You will remain alert to risk, respond confidently to incidents or concerns, and follow clear safeguarding and risk-management procedures to keep residents and colleagues safe.

You will hold a small caseload of residents, offering person-centred, trauma-informed key-work support that helps individuals build independence, stability, and wellbeing. Job Title: Finance Officer

 The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth) is a membership organisation and the voice of the profession, with over 4,500 members in the UK and overseas. Our role is to champion the specialty, set standards of training and practice, and influence change to make a difference to the lives of patients with eye conditions.  

 Job Purpose

You’ll support the day-to-day running of the charity’s finance function—ensuring income and expenditure are processed accurately, reconciliations are completed on time, strong controls are maintained, and colleagues receive responsive support. You’ll also act as the key finance contact for payroll administration delivered via an external provider (providing inputs, checking outputs, and ensuring accurate postings into Xero).

Key responsibilities

1) Accounts payable (supplier invoices & payments)

• Process supplier invoices end-to-end: query resolution, correct coding (including VAT), approvals, posting to Xero, and maintaining an audit trail.
• Prepare and run supplier payment batches in line with controls and delegated authorities.
• Maintain supplier records and support efficient, professional supplier query handling.

2) Expenses & corporate cards (Payhawk) and posting to Xero

• Administer Payhawk expenses and card transactions: ensure receipts are submitted, policy rules are followed, and transactions are coded accurately.
• Configure and maintain Payhawk mappings (chart of accounts, VAT rates, tracking categories) to support clean exports into Xero.
• Export approved expenses/payments to Xero and support reconciliation between Payhawk activity, Xero postings, and bank/feeds.

3) Income processing and reconciliations (including donations)

• Raise sales invoices (where required), allocate receipts, and support routine credit control as appropriate.
• Reconcile income from bank, donation platforms, and other sources; ensure accurate allocation to the correct funds/projects (including restricted funding where relevant).
• Support Gift Aid record-keeping and processes (where applicable).

4) Payroll support (external payroll provider)

• Act as the key liaison with the external payroll provider to deliver monthly payroll accurately and on schedule.
• Collate and submit monthly inputs by agreed cut-offs (e.g., starters/leavers, salary changes, contractual changes, statutory leave, pension changes and other agreed adjustments).
• Review payroll reports for accuracy and reasonableness (e.g., gross-to-net checks, variance checks vs prior month, starters/leavers reflected correctly).
• Coordinate payroll approvals internally and confirm release of payroll payments in line with controls.
• Ensure payroll-related payments (e.g., pensions and statutory deductions as applicable) are scheduled/processed accurately and on time.
• Post payroll journals into Xero, maintain supporting documentation, and reconcile payroll control accounts.
• Respond to staff payroll queries sensitively and confidentially, escalating complex items to the provider or Financial Controller as appropriate.

5) Month-end support & reporting

• Support month-end processes (journals, accruals/prepayments, reconciliations) and help produce routine finance reports (e.g., budget monitoring, cash, aged creditors/debtors).
• Assist with audit preparation and information requests; maintain clear documentation and controls.

6) Continuous improvement, controls and compliance

• Help improve finance processes (especially around expenses, coding consistency, and reconciliation routines).
• Contribute to maintaining robust financial controls and good practice across the organisation.

Person Specification

• Experience in a finance operations role covering transactional processing and reconciliations.
• Practical knowledge of Xero and confidence completing bank reconciliations and day-to-day postings.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel (comfortable with data checks and reconciliations).
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and sound judgement with confidential information.
• Clear communication skills and confidence working with non-finance colleagues.
• Experience supporting payroll delivered by an external provider (inputs, checks, journals, reconciliations) and/or acting as a payroll liaison.

Jangala is seeking an ambitious and strategic Fundraising Manager to sustain and grow our income from trusts, foundations and corporate partners. This is a hands-on role for an experienced fundraiser who enjoys translating complex work into compelling funding propositions and building strong relationships with supporters. Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you will lead on our trusts and foundations pipeline, manage key corporate partners, write high-quality funding applications and support the development of our stewardship and wider fundraising strategies.

This is initially a 6 month contract, with the aim of becoming permanent subject to funding. As Jangala is a growing organisation, you will also help shape fundraising tools/processes and there is potential for this role to evolve according to your skills, interests and development goals over time.

Trusts & Foundations

• Leading a pipeline of UK and global trusts and foundations and other grantmakers, including researching and cultivating new opportunities, developing proposals, coordinating internal inputs and submitting high-quality bids

• Managing relationships with our current funders, with a focus on stewardship, reporting and renewals, ensuring accurate, timely and engaging updates on progress and impact

• Working with Head of Fundraising to review our current pipeline, refine our trusts and foundations strategy and identify our approach for priority opportunities, including National Lottery

For over 15 years, Scotty's Little Soldiers has been supporting children and young people who have been bereaved of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces.We are about to embark on an exciting journey which will see the charity evolve to support anyone affected by a military-connected bereavement and ultimately empower a community of more than 25,000 bereaved individuals and their families by 2035. 

Founded in 2010 by Nikki Scott following the death of her husband, Corporal Lee Scott, the charity currently offers a unique blend of emotional, practical, and educational support to over 750 young people.

Role Mission. 

As part of a newly created Outreach squad focused on reaching and engaging with the bereaved military community, you will use digital marketing skills to help us develop a thriving online community. 

You’ll take full ownership of our day-to-day social media activity across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok. From scheduling content and managing the calendar, to engaging with our audience and contributing to campaign ideas.You’ll also help deliver key marketing tasks that support outreach, engagement and growth, connecting families to the services we offer.

The key responsibilities of this role are:  

Social Media (Core Accountability) 

Planning & Scheduling 

• Own and manage the social media content calendar, ensuring consistent, relevant output aligned to Outreach priorities. 

• Schedule and publish content across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok using agreed tools. 

• Work closely with the Head of Outreach to refine platform focus, tone, and audience segmentation. 

Content & Campaign Support 

• Suggest and implement social-first content ideas that support campaigns, service launches, and ongoing outreach to beneficiaries. 

• Create simple, on-brand social content where required (e.g. Canva graphics, polls, text-based posts, evergreen content). 

• Work closely with the in-coming Content Creator to ensure video and visual content is used effectively and repurposed across channels. 

Community Engagement 

• Actively monitor and respond to comments, messages, and enquiries across social platforms, with particular sensitivity to bereavement-related conversations. 

• Engage appropriately with the wider military, veteran, and bereavement community online to help maintain visibility and connection. 

• Escalate sensitive, safeguarding, or service-related enquiries to the appropriate team in line with agreed processes. 

Monitoring & Insight 

• Track and report on key social media metrics (e.g. reach, engagement, follower growth, link clicks). 

• Use insights to recommend improvements and help the Outreach Squad learn what content resonates. 

• Keep up to date with platform changes, trends, and best practice. 

Marketing Execution (Additional Responsibilities) 

Email Marketing 

• Own the creation, scheduling, and sending of regular email updates to bereaved families using agreed platforms. 

• Maintain email lists in line with data protection requirements and agreed segmentation. 

• Track basic performance metrics (open rates, click-throughs) and share insights with the Head of Outreach. 

Website Content Support 

• Upload and maintain marketing content on the website, including news articles, blogs, and impact updates. 

• Ensure content is accurate, on-brand, and correctly formatted. 

• Work with the Head of Outreach to ensure content is published in a timely and coordinated way. 

General Marketing Support 

• Support the delivery of wider marketing and outreach activity as required (e.g. campaign roll-outs, asset updates, coordination tasks). 

• Assist with keeping marketing materials organised, up to date, and accessible for the wider team. 

• Contribute to continuous improvement of how marketing activity is delivered across the Outreach Squad.

• Independently running day-to-day social media activity maintaining consistency in quality, tone and frequency.

What You’ll Need to Succeed 

Must Have 

• Practical experience managing professional social media accounts across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok. 

• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and messaging for different audiences and platforms. 

• Confidence using social media scheduling tools and basic design platforms such as Canva. 

• High emotional intelligence and the ability to communicate with empathy and professionalism, particularly around sensitive topics such as bereavement. 

• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment. 

• A genuine belief in Scotty’s mission and a commitment to representing the charity thoughtfully and responsibly online. 

Nice to Have 

• Experience uploading and managing content on a CMS (e.g. WordPress or similar). 

• Familiarity with interpreting basic performance data (social insights, email open and click-through rates) to inform improvements. 

• Experience of the UK military community. 

• An interest in community-building and using digital channels to create connection, not just visibility.

• Experience delivering or supporting email marketing campaigns, including writing copy and sending campaigns.

The Head of Impact, Partnerships & Place is a senior leadership role responsible for driving collaboration & partnerships and ensuring measurable social impact. Key Responsibilities

Impact Measurement

o Design and oversee frameworks for monitoring and evaluating strategic outcomes.

o Prepare and present impact reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.

o Support the wider staff team in gathering data to inform and underpin the Impact Framework.

 Partnerships Development

o Build and maintain partnerships with RankNet members, other funders, government, and community organisations.

o Negotiate and manage collaborative projects to maximise reach and effectiveness.

 

 Place-based Programmes 

o Lead the place-based programmes (currently Plymouth and Sunderland) and design frameworks for monitoring and evaluating strategic outcomes. 

o Collaborate with other funders and partners to achieve shared goals. 

o Represent the Foundation at local, regional, and national events that focus on place-based work. 

Community Engagement

o Develop and implement strategies to strengthen relationships with RankNet members, partners, and funders.

Strategic Leadership

o Contribute to organisational strategy, identify emerging trends and opportunities for social impact.

o Translate organisational strategy into clear, measurable objectives, ensuring alignment across teams and programmes.

o Manage strategic risk in relation to funders and partnerships, reputation and delivery, ensuring ethical, inclusive and sustainable practice.

 Advocacy and Representation

o Serve as the public face of the Foundation at funder and partnership events.

o Advocate for causes aligned with the Foundation’s mission.

Our Second Home (OSH) is the UK’s youth movement for people with refugee backgrounds. We support young people to build community, become leaders, and flourish into adulthood in the place they call home.

Each year, hundreds of young people from dozens of countries and living in London & Bristol take part in our residential programmes, leadership training and youth hubs. Our residentials are often the first step – immersive, relationship-rich spaces where young people connect, reflect and begin to see themselves as leaders. From there, many move into leadership training and take on volunteer roles within the movement.

Our work is youth-led and rooted in lived experience. We are now implementing our 2025–2028 strategy, focused on strengthening quality, embedding learning and ensuring our growth is sustainable and safe.

The Head of Programmes is a senior leadership role, reporting to the CEO and managing two senior colleagues. You will hold responsibility for the quality, coherence and safeguarding of all programme activity.

Responsibilities (abridged - see attached job description)

Programme Leadership & Strategy in Practice

• Lead implementation of OSH’s 2025–2028 programme strategy.

• Oversee the design, quality and coherence of residentials, leadership training and hubs.

• Take operational responsibility for residential delivery, including participant referrals, recruitment of staff and freelancers, programme content and educational standards.

• Attend and lead approximately five residential programmes per year.

• Identify opportunities to strengthen youth engagement and leadership pathways as the organisation scales.

• Ensure programme data is accurately recorded and used to improve delivery.

Team Leadership

• Line manage the Communities Manager and Leadership & Volunteering Manager.

• Provide structured supervision, clear objectives and professional development support.

• Ensure strong coordination between hubs, residentials and leadership pathways.

• Build a culture of accountability, reflection and continuous improvement.

Safeguarding & Welfare

• Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and serve as DSL at events as required.

• Ensure safeguarding practice is robust, consistent and embedded across all activities.

• Respond to safeguarding and behavioural issues appropriately and oversee safe recruitment processes.

Partnerships, Budget & Oversight

• Maintain referral partnerships and represent OSH externally where appropriate.

• Hold programme budgets within agreed limits and ensure financial discipline.

• Embed monitoring, evaluation and reflective practice across the programme team.

Experience & Competencies (abridged - see attached job description)

Essential

• At least 5 years’ experience in youth or youth-centred programming, including residential or intensive settings.

• Experience designing and delivering leadership development or informal education programmes.

• Strong facilitation and training skills.

• Demonstrable experience managing staff and developing teams.

• Strong understanding of safeguarding practice and willingness to act as Deputy DSL.

• Experience working with young people from refugee or asylum-seeking backgrounds, or strong understanding of the issues affecting them.

• Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on delivery in a part-time senior leadership role.

• Strong organisational skills and commitment to inclusive, youth-led practice.

Desirable

• Level 3 Safeguarding training.

• Experience managing programme budgets.
