Job Summary
The Philanthropy Manager will develop a philanthropy strategy, building on the partnerships and resources already in place. You will develop a pipeline backed up by robust prospect research (some administrative assistance will be provided), and instigate a cultivation and stewardship programme, typically adopting a staged approach to major asks.
You will be accountable for the acquisition, development, and stewardship of high value supporters for CUF, both individual philanthropists and non-statutory grant-making bodies. You will develop and strengthen relationships with existing donors, as well as identifying warm prospects currently not supporting CUF financially. A key part of your role will be meeting and engaging major donor prospects to grow the pool.
You will engage with Trustees and senior leaders, to identify and nurture Christian philanthropists and grant body decision-makers within their spheres of influence.
You will lead on developing cases for support and writing grant applications, helped by the wider staff team.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with high levels of motivation, and the ability to both develop and operationalise strategy as a member of a small team. You will have a track record of successfully initiating, managing and developing relationships with High-Net-Worth individuals and grantmaking bodies, and securing donations and grants, via proposals or through face-to-face meetings, as required.

A rare opportunity to step into a fully established role with a full handover. The Digital Resource for Carers platform is customisable allowing subscribing organisations to promote their own content to their beneficiaries. Through our comprehensive wrap-around service, we identify carers in the localities we work in and promote the service to them via a series of geotargeted Social Media campaigns. The service delivers additional support to carers via a monthly newsletter and regular online sessions.
About you
The person in this role will be an excellent communicator and experienced in account management. As well as exceptional customer service skills, you’ll have good knowledge of IT packages and good organisational skills.

You will work 1:1 with autistic pupils, supporting them to access the curriculum while building independence, confidence, and self-esteem through classroom learning and community based activities. This role includes personal care.

You will work directly with LGBT victims/survivors, offering them a space to talk and think through options, helping them plan what they want to do, and offering assistance in getting what they need from services. Your work will focus on needs specifically related experiences of sexual violence, including issues such as wellbeing, support with the criminal and civil justice process, safety and access to other services to enable survivors to cope and recover. You will be empathetic and thoughtful in your approach to understanding your clients’ needs, while remaining boundaried and mindful of self-care.
You will sit alongside our other advocates supporting LGBT people facing abuse or violence. You will work with mainstream services to ensure the voices and experiences of LGBT survivors are represented in order to make change for our community at a local and national level. You will also work closely with key partner organisations by attending meetings and have the opportunity to take part in external work to ensure a joined-up approach among services working with LGBT people facing abuse and violence.

You will be able to demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and a proactive approach in offering emotional and practical support, while ensuring a safe and empowering environment for those in need.
As a member of our helpline team, you will provide emotional support and practical guidance to individuals in need, responding to calls, emails, and web chats. You will support individuals who have experienced various forms of violence and abuse, including domestic violence, hate crimes, sexual violence, and so-called conversion therapies. Your role will involve offering a compassionate, non-judgmental, and empathetic ear to those reaching out for help, while carefully assessing each situation to determine the appropriate level of support. You will conduct risk assessments, provide safeguarding assistance, assist with safety planning, signposting, and, when necessary, support with referring individuals on to the right services, always ensuring the highest standards of care and support.

About the role: We are seeking to recruit a Senior IDVA.
